- ATTIÉKIÉ MADE ME Travelled to ABIDJAN || IVORY COAST
Acheke, also spelled Attiéké (Ivory Coast), "Attcheke" or Akyeke (Ghana), is a side dish made from cassava, and is a popular and traditional cuisine in West Africa. The dish is prepared from fermented cassava pulp that has been grated or granulated. Dried attiéké is also prepared, which is similar in texture to couscous.
Attcheke is an Ivorian delicacy which is prepared by not only the Ivorian people but people in the western region of Ghana, and west Africa in general. It is made from grated cassava that is fermented, and is flavorful when eaten with fried fish with ground pepper garnished with chopped pepper and onion with a little seasoning for taste added with palm oil to give it a yellowish look and different taste. One can also eat akyeke with smoked fish and stew. It can be served with soup as well.

Nzema, Ashanti. On a beaucoup de culture en commun. En tout cas tu fais du bon travail, tes vidéos sont très bien réalisées et très propres. Akwaba a Abidjan 🥰🇨🇮❤️🇬🇭

Hi Fred, this is thesame oil Nigerians use for their Ayamase stew,it’s called bleached palm oil and all you have to do is cook the palm oil on medium/high heat to get this. It’s got a very unique smell and taste.Hope it helps anyone that wants to try making one.
Oh okay! Thank you so much for sharing. I appreciate it!
@@freddahe You are very welcome, great content as always, and thanks for making me smile with your presentation 😊.
Yes, the process is called bleaching the palm oil.

Attieke is torturing to make. We need an attieke factory in Ivory Coast.
I support this suggestion. ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
@@freddahe there are a lot of factories now, it' s because you didn' t visit them. Chinese also makes Attieke now

Good job bro, thanks for the video, a quick question. Can I save the dry one for longer periods
Certainly! You can preserve it in the freezer for up to a year if you don't plan to use it soon.
I think it's a bleached palm oil.
Nice job Fred.
Thank you Tirnok
I don’t know what you mean by bleached oil but It’s red oil that was over cooked to get this look.
First!!
PINNED!
@@freddahe Yayy❤️❤️
Please how many times is the sieving can be done
attiéké is an ébrié dish of the akan people😊
Good to know
Thank you, Fred, for this amazing episode, I have one question. How does this dish taste?
It's good. I can't describe the taste in words but it was really good.
It's like any other starch out there and it is a little sour due to fermentation. The taste is out of this world
👏👏🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮
😊
Wow yum 🍚 but it hard job ❤️
You can say that again. Yet the make it look so easy! 🙏🏾✊🏾✊🏾❤️
Beautiful but a lot of work.
So much.
I love the quality of your video, everything is on point. I love your English also. Where are you from?
Thank you so much. I'm a Ghanaian From the central region
@@freddahe thanks for the reply. I love your work. Keep it up 👍
@@freddahe I am an ivoirian from Abidjan living int he central region, Winneba. Attieke is my people food. While other tribes who make it have only one type, my people from Abidjan, Tchaman (our real name) but called Ebrie, have many types.
my brother I read your presentation text on attiéké, attiéké is not consumed everywhere in west africa in senegal, gambia, mauritania, sierra leone, nigeria, etc..
these countries do not eat attiéké they know it but do not consume it too much some countries prefer rice more.
consumers of attiéké outside the ivory coast are ghana and burkina faso.
attiéké is consumed almost everywhere in west africa it is true but it must be specified that attiéké is a dish originating from the ivory coast and not elsewhere, the word attiéké comes from the word " adièkè " in the language ébrié which means "for sale" if I'm not mistaken.
it is the Ébrié people (Akans group from Ivory Coast) who created the attiéké
otherwise good video.
I want to start selling can you help me get the raw acheke from them pls
I'm so happy I found this video.i love this food.im from Liberia and can never get tired eating this.im going to learn this and prepare it for my restaurant.i need these people address to come look for them and lean it because many Liberian love it and it's a real good business here.thanks so much
You got this! I'm glad you enjoyed the video
U just need to come to Abidjan, there's so many places you can learn how to make... Liberia is not far from côte d'ivoire
bro, attieke is 100% from cote divoire!! other west african countries learned from cote divoire how to make attieke. and u may know that there are many varieties of attieke in cote d'ivoire, different types of grains with different type of names. it can be prepared anywhere in west africa, but its an ivorian product 100%
Good to know! I'm yet to do my own research
Can they send it out of Ivory coast while it is cooked like that?
Please I would like to ask, Is it necessary to eat it with seasoning cube? Cos I've seen sellers add seasoning cube to the attieke for customers to mix before eating it
no it's not. it's a preference
🧡🤍💚🇬🇭❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Je vaudrais passer ma commande mais comment parce que j’habite au Burundi 🇧🇮
They can ship it to you by air. Just that it comes at an extra cost

@@freddahe Sorry for the wrong spelling. I mean her number. The attieke maker. Thank you.
Similar to gari, I wonder the difference in their production....
gari is roasted while Attieke is steam. You can check my gari preparation video
ua-cam.com/video/u133LSAmZBM/v-deo.html
Gari is roasted got fiber in it and is dry .
We blow wind to remove fiber from attieke.
although bad quality attieke still have fiber in it and is cheaper , that is the one used for garba sold in the street.
But we use for home good quality attieke without fiber in it.
Please can I get their contact
Please, is it mandatory to boil some for fermentation
If you did not put the oil, the taste will be something else. So it depend on the person who will eat, if he likes it or not.
Yes it is mandatory to boil some for fermentation, otherwise you won't have attieke
No no, just do it the way you want and call it how you like, but not attieké...
😅😅
🤣
How can people prepare cook something through a week before eating. The longest cooking process. That’s nonsense. Cassava derivatives are eaten across Africa but none is prepared for more than two days.
hahahah! you should try it before leaving this comment
