May the beautiful and talented Sandy Farina rest in peace. This is my favorite version of this song, and I loved her in the movie. I saw it so many times as a girl!
Hate to say it...But this is the best version of Strawberry Fields that I ever heard..Even the Beatles don't pull this as well as that sweet beautiful voice
I was 4, but I grew up with these songs... I saw the film when I was 7, I think, and it had a real impact on me. Fell in love with Strawberry Fields thanks to Sandy Farina.
cool, I thought she would have a singing career after this movie but it didn't do well and the general public didn't hear anything from her again. She reminds me of Susan Dey.
I've always liked the Beatles original version of this but this version is so stunning and beautiful! Sandy's voice is so tender! It reminds me of Karen Carpenter's voice!😊😊
I always loved Sandy Farina! Strawberry and Billy were the first movie couple I fell in love with! I was 4 when my sister introduced this movie to me! i’m 20 1/2 now!
I was 9 when I saw this fantastic movie at the drive-in. I spent my birthday money, $14.00 buying this soundtrack.(3record album) with photos and all! I was a Beatles fan from day born, but this movie gave me a love for musical talent and difference. Seriously my first album was a 45, Hey Jude. I still recall my little record player. Oh the memories are wonderful
Can't say that I'm crazy about the movie (I have the DVD), but some of the songs - this one in particular - were outstanding performances. She has such a gorgeous voice!
In 1978, I was 18 when this movie was released, and I was already a Bee Gee's fan so I had to see the movie. The cast was on point, and I loved the way George Martin lent his creative musical genius to score the sound track that attracted a new generation of Beatles fans. I used to take my younger siblings, nieces and nephew to see it in Century City, California too. The Good Ole Days, INDEED~
I was 18 when I saw this movie in the theater, after spending the day with my friends at the beach in Newport beach. Really enjoyed it, and just loved Sandy Farina. Hate to say I teared up at her in the glass coffin in the movie... anyway, I just came across my album of the movie the other day. Still in good shape So I played the records and got all melancholy, so here I am. thanks Sandy for having such a beautiful voice, and being a little part of the memories of my youth.

Oh the memories are wonderful.
My father bought this album for me and my sister back in 1981 (when we finally got a stereo in our new home). I was 14 (sis was 13), heading for high school -- listening to R&B and Jazz. I wondered why did he buy this for us. Then we listened to "Got To Get You Into My Life" ... and "Strawberry Fields Forever". WE WERE HOOKED! Thanks, Dad!
Awesome version. I LOVE this movie! I was 12 when it came out and saw it at the theater more than 20 times. Got the album, a t-shirt, and those rare collectible cards. So many great people in this film. What a genius Robert Stigwood was. I used this arrangement of this song when I auditioned for the Los Angeles Children's Choir.
My father bought this album for me and my sister in 1981. I had no clue why he bought it. Back then, I was heading to high school (I was 14) -- listening to Michael Jackson, Earth-Wind-Fire, and Prince. So I "kinda" listened to it... ...and I grew to love this song (and EWF's Got To Get You Into My Life). At times, I really miss this vibe... ...and the sweet flute tones (I played the flute back then). Sometimes, Dad knew best -- THANKS, DAD (still alive)!
No one I think is in my tree I mean, it must be high or low That is, you can't, you know, tune in but it's all right That is, I think it's not too bad Let me take you down 'Cause I'm going to strawberry fields Nothing is real And nothing to get hung about Strawberry fields forever Living is easy with eyes closed Misunderstanding all you see It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out It doesn't matter much to me Let me take you down 'Cause I'm going to strawberry fields Nothing is real And nothing to get hung about Strawberry fields forever Always, no sometimes, think it's me But you know I know when it's a dream I think I know, I mean a... yes But it's all wrong That is, I think I disagree Let me take you down 'Cause I'm going to strawberry fields Nothing is real And nothing to get hung about Strawberry fields forever Strawberry fields forever Strawberry fields forever
so...why were there trading cards really? I mean my cousin had a collection of multiple trading cards sports and otherwise and for some reason SGT pepps was among them
For a while in the late '70s every popular movie or TV show had trading cards. I remember having them from "Mork and Mindy," the movie "Grease," and of course the "Star Wars" movies. Only the Star Wars cards were actually traded among my friends.
Actually Anita Harris does a better version in a Beatles montage . Check it out . As regards your comment its a totally different version to Johns ..so you cant compare . Same with Fool On The Hill .Pauls version is great . But so is Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66.totally different .
It remibds me if simpler times child hood when i felt at home and safe things no longer in todays society

EVAN WEST but the crispy-ness of the original adds on to song, and this version sounds a little too harmonious honestly
EVAN WEST I happen to agree. Her voice is amazing
@@sobecb7131 Agree. Came to this video just to prove the same thing to someone that was unfamiliar with this cover version.
i agree
It’s great but you must be on something to say it sounds better then John Lennon s vocal
She's 64 this year! "Will you still need me, when I'm 64?" I also loved that movie, when I was about 15 years old.
She reminds me of princess diana
I was 4, but I grew up with these songs... I saw the film when I was 7, I think, and it had a real impact on me. Fell in love with Strawberry Fields thanks to Sandy Farina.
Love her voice
I loved her take on Beatles songs look up toxic avenger song body talk for another song that she did
@@AnaidNora l
R.I.P. Sandy. You were a great singer and composer as well. May God rest your soul.
I grew up with Sandy and her brother Bobby. I had a huge crush on her.
cool, I thought she would have a singing career after this movie but it didn't do well and the general public didn't hear anything from her again. She reminds me of Susan Dey.
How could you NOT have?
classic voice with no auto-tune
I've always liked the Beatles original version of this but this version is so stunning and beautiful! Sandy's voice is so tender! It reminds me of Karen Carpenter's voice!😊😊
Best artist who has EVER sang this song.
Absolutely not. The Beatles reign supreme
I bought the Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club movie and fell in love with this version
🤝🇺🇦
so clean... so crisp....My favorite version of this tune
Love this campy movie! :)
Me too shh...
I'm watching it right now! 42 years later! WOW! We're both still alive and kicking.
@@mikestreets8247 The movie still lives on! :)

I just ❤ love ❤this song so beautiful ,THANKS 🎉🎉🎉

The soundtrack is really good.
Still the best cover of this song.

The late 70's and 80's had many great musicals
Music class 1979 we had to listen to this version. I loved it then as now. The only version I know of since the Beatles.
Why do I always cry when I hear this song??
I was 5 when my parents took me to see this movie and I absolutely loved the music in the film!!!!!
I really liked this film. I love her version of this song…..beautiful!
I also love her version of Here Comes The Sun!

Now that she's gone, the funeral scene is a lot harder to watch now, and some of the "magic" is gone as well.
I just wished her a Happy Birthday... she PM’D me a thank you! Beautiful person, beautiful voice! I’m watching SGT. Pepper’s as we speak!
Great version!
This song saved my life.
How cool is it that she just sent me a pm on Facebook wishing me a Merry Christmas? Beautiful voice.
How cool ! That's adorable how did she know where you are , the whole storywould"be interesting
I adore this, it comforts me.
I actually bought this soundtrack as a kid...
I did too.

I was small when this was shown. I was full of remorse that I wasn't able to watch it. But we had discs where I listened to these music.
Still is the best version of strawberry fields after all these years (just stumbled in this yt channel). Its not in spotify. Too bad.
Indeed the best cover version. :) :)
I love her version!
Also Peter Frampton 's version of Golden Slumber.. Just beautiful.
this version is better than the original in my opinion, also "the long and winding road" of Peter Frampton is the best version of that beautiful song
Love her voice
loved the movie because of the songs like this one, watched it many times
My condolences to her and her family.
Beautiful song beautiful voice and lyrics today's crap music can't hold a candle to it ❤❤😂😅
Oh how beautiful this song is
オリジナルのジョンのヴォーカルと同じ位、このヴァージョンも大好きです。
This is my favorite version of the son it’s so beautifully done.
She could sing the phone book and I would buy it..lol

So beautiful
Hi John Welham is Christina good afternoon I am so 😄 that song is pretty awesome definitely wonderful at least is incredible absolutely wonderful
This is amazing definitely terrific
Definitely Fabulous sounds amazing
Definitely wonderful
My favorite version...sorry beatles
I'm sad to say that this is better than the original Strawberry Fields by the Beatles..
:(
I fully agree with you! :)
It's different ..not better !
Agree! The best version ❤ My husband and I love it.
I’m in love with your voice,my brother always saying your name after watching the movie when it first came out
It sucks that you can’t find this version on Spotify
Nice one.
Better than the original IMO
There is a great version of this also by a singer called Clay
No one I think is in my tree
I mean, it must be high or low
That is, you can't, you know, tune in but it's all right
That is, I think it's not too bad
Let me take you down
'Cause I'm going to strawberry fields
Nothing is real
And nothing to get hung about
Strawberry fields forever
Living is easy with eyes closed
Misunderstanding all you see
It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out
It doesn't matter much to me
Let me take you down
'Cause I'm going to strawberry fields
Nothing is real
And nothing to get hung about
Strawberry fields forever
Always, no sometimes, think it's me
But you know I know when it's a dream
I think I know, I mean a... yes
But it's all wrong
That is, I think I disagree
Let me take you down
'Cause I'm going to strawberry fields
Nothing is real
And nothing to get hung about
Strawberry fields forever
Strawberry fields forever
Strawberry fields forever
i really like this rendition of SF, but nothing, no one can do it better than the BEATLES....
Totally different version. However there is so much more to the Beatles original. More atmospheric for starters
1:18 é a melhor parte

She's playing a girl named Strawberry Fields (?), so this song means, "Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to . . . me?"
Her voice is so beautiful until the sound of the drums enter. I wish the sound system should be improved for the new version?
sounds like olivia newton john
Olivia Newton John covered "The Long and Winding Road" and that was pretty magical to listen to. :)
I’m at a loss.
She looks like my ex wife.
I love sandy.
But I hate my ex....
What

Dilemma.
I like Beatles but for this song...she sings better, much better.
