Linnea, I have to tell you. I have been following and watching you grow from the very beginning. I am a widow, my husband passed 8 years ago and I have kids your age. I have heard stories of your dad and I see my kids in you and the way you speak of him. But I never had the urge to message or comment on your videos till now! After watching this video, I couldn’t help but feel this sense of pride in you and how proud I’m SURE your dad is of you. Not for the UA-cam channel, money, or whatever you accomplish professionally but because of the young woman you have become! For having an innate the sense of self, the courage to discover who you are and the determination to be a better you! The moment when you finished your fence and lifted up your hands with gratitude and pride just made me smile and filled me with pride as if I was looking at my own kids! My kids always wonder what their dad would say to them in particular in certain times in their lives and I can imagine you feel the same way. So I just wanted to tell you! He’s proud of you for being true to you and being courageous enough to not give up and go on ! ❤ Keep it up sweetie!!!!

Hello Linnea. I'm a new viewer and just came across your video. I don't know what happened to you to to need a therapist. Please don't be upset if I asked you why. When I was younger, I drove a big rig cross country. My therapist was the open road and being one with God's beautiful country, AMERICA. THERE'S no better therapy than that. I've been trying to convince my wife to get rid of all the garbage. Or put it all in storage. I'm 70 now, and somewhat disabled, So having an RV and traveling this land again is my dream now. No schedule, just go, stop, and go again when I want to. God bless you Linnnea, just keep on keeping on!

The smiles and joy and laughter are so fun. The luxury of water, right?! From watching the dogs splashing and joyous in the pool to the ability to grow a garden in the middle of a desert. So amazing. I started watching your channel when you first bought Togo and it's just so fun to see the the life changes you've made. While others watch the Kardashians, I'm over here like, "What are Linnea, Chris, Akela, and Kobuk up to this week?!" The fence looks amazing. You need a little chair in the garden so you can sit and enjoy the fruits of your labors. As always, thanks for giving us a peek into your life. Take care.

If you ever thought about making a second channel with purely videos of the environment, no words, no vlog, natural sounds and either time lapse or real time of different parts of your property to watch nature do as she does best (exist) I feel it would be so soothing! Even if you did short videos of campfires, the dogs running silly and playing etc. A channel where it's real raw 100% unedited footage.

I also love how you recapped and said what you learned, what you'd have done differently. Smart girl. :) I wanted to let you know that you have been a huge motivator in my own journey! I sold my house and bought a BUS, and I'm headed on my first adventure, with my two dogs, later this week. I'm in WA now and will head to CO to see old friends and family, and I'll wander the west for the next month or so. I'm so excited! Keep up the videos. It’s good to dig the wire down. But…. Moles, ground squirrels etc can dig. IF in future you see your veggies disappearing down into the bed, gophers etc are living there , literally sucking them down. The Next spring you can dig out your bed. Lay the 1/4 mesh( I’ve sewn it together with wires to make a fully tight seam. & pan out of the mesh that fits it’s use the bed. Usually in high desert, beds are not raised but sunken to save on evaporation. It’s not the Midwest. ( I’m was born in Michigan).

You position yourself, Linnea into the backdrop of the whole story therefore allowing a presentation of balance between the resiliency of the human spirit offsetting the grandeur, glory and power of Nature! This allows for the viewer to see a clearer perspective of the whole story. The strategies of moving in closer for the intricacies and details while also panning out to see a more expansive perspective. Excellent Job!!

When I buukt my garden I just my truck to help pull the fencing tight, just tie it to ur hitch and slowly pull forward then when it's tight, nail the furthest corner to the furthest post and then fill in the blank. It's something my dad taught me. I was like oh that's how you do it. Figured I'd share it.
No matter it's looks good to me. Hard work is amazing and it looks like ur living ur best life!

As someone who's experienced in building animal barrier fencing, I felt I should give you some info. Rabbits and coyotes etc, you want to dig down at least 6 inches. As for inside or outside the posts, it's outside, because inside just takes a push and the dogs can pop the chicken wire off the fence staples or nails (whichever you used.) if it's on the outside, it's harder to get in.
I admire your willingness to try new things and work hard on these projects.

Solar panels, drip irrigation and timers. You have a well. Water is life. You can continue to live in the van but you can also build things for your garden, the dogs, etc. you don’t have to live the hardest life you can. You have water. With water you can plant trees that can survive the desert. They will help the land and help the aquifer. Native grasses will also improve the land and aquifer. The logs will last longer if you remove the bark.

    Hi Linnea,
Great job you did with the fence, it looks real nice.
If I may, usually you should place the fence on the side the ''threat'' is coming from, the reason is that in this way the poles helps the nails to hold and support the fence.
The easiest way will be to wrap the fence around the poles and secure it with nails, it also be fastest.
    You are courageous woman, cheers.

The other thing I wanted to say was that you can use chicken wire on the outside of your garden fence. If your chicken wire is laid down flat outside of your garden fence, you can pull it up onto your garden fence a foot or so. Bend it at the ground level. Add an extra piece at the corners to cover open ground. Do this all around your fence. You can lay rocks at the outer edge. Any animal that comes up to your fence can't DIG under because they will hit the chicken wire. In time, you can make a flower bed in areas around your garden. The only place you can't do this is at your gate. That could use some stones on the inside of the gate. You wouldn't have to dig down to bury fencing around your garden that way. I use this method on my place. I have clay soil here in TN. Digging isn't easy. The grass can grow through the chicken wire, which camouflages the wire. It's just a thought. GOD bless

You should get a digging bar to dig your post holes. Then use the post hole digger to scoop out the dislodged dirt.
