Its really damn sad that Hollywood didn't encourage other film productions to do fun stuff like that after Blues Brothers to raise moral because working on a film can be stressful.
There will never be another movie like this. So many famous legendary musicians in one movie. I don't think it's ever been done and never will be done again.
I don't think modern Hollywood would allow it. They turned their favorite faded acts into legends to be handed down by future generations, had a heavy handed religious message, made cops look like idiots, and had no regard for political correctness. All for a storyline of saving an orphanage. Wouldn't fit anyone's agenda anymore.
My mother introduced me to this movie when I was 7 or 8 years old, and every time I watch this movie I think about her. She thought I would love this movie and she was right. I Love You Mom and I Miss You!
Wow. After watching this I'm surprised at the number of people that have since passed away. John Belushi, Carrie Fisher, Matt (Guitar) Murphy, Ray Charles, James Brown, Cab Calloway, Aretha Franklin, John Lee Hooker, Donald (Duck) Dunn, John Candy & Alan (Mr Fabulous) Rubin. Hats off to all of them.
Sadly, the actors, actresses and singers are gone now in this movie. R.I.P John Candy, Carrie Fisher, John Belushi, James Brown, Henry Gibson, Cab Calloway, Aretha Frankin, Ray Charles, Donald "Duck" Dunn, Kathleen Freeman, Alan Rubin, Ben Pizza, John Lee Hooker, Charles Napier, Eddy Donno, James Avery (dancing outside at Ray's shop), Luis Contreras and some others.

God I want to relive the 80s. I wish my mother would have been like half these women these days and had me at age 17, so I can at least be old enough to watch this movie in theaters.
I love the fact that they put the whole crew along with everyone else in the credits! That's quite rare
Wishing everyone sang in the credits like the BB 2000 movie

I remember watching this with my dad thousands of time when I was young :) The memories ♥

Same experience i had with my dad, watched the movie over and over again with him, he's the one who made me love this music
Ditto. And playing in the car. Incessantly.
Had the very same experience. One of the few things we shared but we quote this one all the time
Saw this about 10 times in the summer of 1980 and about a million times since and I still get chills about how great this movie is.
I've watched it quite a few times. It's so great that I wish it could have gone on for another 20 minutes or more. What a spectacular film!!!
I saw the sequel as a kid
when i think at "make america great again", first thing i think came to my mind is this movie, back when america was actually great
