OMG! I got cold chills when you said your daughter was baptized one the day she was to get married! She is awesome for turning this experience around to a positive! God bless her and your whole family!
I hit perimenopause and weight loss has become so difficult! Getting so frustrated. I'm doing the right things but the scale doesn't cooperate. Your talk was so encouraging. Praise God for your daughter's testimony!
I totally understand your frustration. I just finally had to be like, okay, body, I give you the grace to do what you want. But I'll keep doing the healthy thing. ;) And Praise God is right!!
Great vlog Kristi. So awesome your blood work is all normal!! Thankfully your daughter realized her fiancé wasn't good for her even though it was hard to handle. For her to decide to get Baptized on her planned wedding date was an awesome idea, good for her and so happy to hear she is doing well.
This was such a a great vlog! Thank you so much. I went through a period several years ago where my doctor was after me to lose weight because my BMI said I was officially overweight. I felt so much pressure and stress. After a couple of miserable years I changed doctors. What a difference. This compassionate man sat me down and pointed out all the reasons my body was fighting me, including being post menopausal. He pointed out I was healthy and BMI was just a number. I stopped weighing myself and focused on healthy eating. I haven't lost a pound but have maintained the same weight for five years and all my lab work is great and I feel good and I'm in great shape too.
Yes!!! I love this!! I talked about my doctor in this vlog, but then I edited that part out to shorten it some. But my doctor is like your new doctor. She hates the BMI chart. She said it tells her absolutely nothing. She also admitted that the majority of general practitioners don't really know a lot about nutrition because it wasn't the focus of their studies in medical school. So sad! That's so great that you've maintained and your lab work is good. And the feeling good is awesome!! Congrats to you!!
I am a daily weigher. For me, it takes the pressure off of what I weigh on any given day. I of course compare day-to-day and week-to-week numbers just for funsies, but I really compare month-to-month to determine my progress. And, like you, I am happy with 2 pounds a month.
Such a great video Kristi! I weigh in every few days but at 51 the pounds do not come off as easy as before. I focus on eating better and moving more. So great job on your journey! I had a similar experience as your daughter years ago so good for her!
That is such awesome news about your daughter being baptized....what a way to turn the bad into good....God is good! That is so great about your recent doctor visits! WTG Kristi!
For me I would go on a trip but getting Baptized is a great thing, I'm happy for her! Awesome job Good for you, That's the way to go! I'm sorry you're going through that, My prayers are with you! I'm hopefully through my menopause I'm 69 years old so I'm hoping so!
Thank you for the update. As a mom I totally understand worrying about our kids when they hurt. Your daughter did an amazing thing by taking back her happiness and mental health. I am also post menapausal and I weigh weekly and I am trying to change my mindset about food and my health. It is very hard but my last check up my cholesterol was a little high and my blookd pressure is always a little high. The doctor asked if i wanted meds for my cholesterol bit I said I want to try to lower with diet and exercise. You have done wonderful things turning your health around. Keep it up.
Thank you so much!! And yes, if yours is up just a little, you can definitely get it down. My mother was actually full diabetic and she is now within normal range, all with diet and exercise. It's amazing how our bodies can work. I'm rooting for you!! 🥰
I have to weigh daily, not for weight loss, but I have Cardiomyopathy and a Pacemaker/defribillator. So I have to watch my weight gain if I gain over 5lbs at once for fluid retention. It gets frustrating, but for now it is keeping me on track. I just turned 56yrs. old now . I am on a health journey. Thanks for your chat video
I weigh myself every morning and I have to admit that the scale determines my mood/day. It is a struggle for a 56 year old woman. I tried so many weight loss methods and I lose but as soon as I go back to normal I gain it all. I am currently trying intermittent fasting 16/8 or 18/6, watching calories and macros and more whole foods. I would love to lose 25 to 30 lb. Not just for vanity but for my hip and back problems. I feel that I need boundaries around eating times. It is easier if I have no eating window and will not snack. During eating window I make sure I fit healthy choices. This may be my life from now on. I hope it works 😃. I think your attitude is excellent!
So glad that's working for you! It's so hard to change our mindset from what we've learned over the years. For me, that's how I always was when I "go back to normal". So, that's why I had to change what my "normal" is. Definitely hard to unlearn what we were taught all those years for sure!! But we've got this!!
I’m 60 I weigh myself sometimes . I’m now at a plateau. I went through the change so not loosing fast at all . Yes I am with you about eating nutrition and good healthy foods
Love this video! I’m right with you 53. I weigh in mon. tues. & wed. to get an average. I’ve also focused on food trying not to gain but hope to lose. It’s a very hard change for me I’ve lost over 100 lbs & regained it due to health issues. I want to lose but slow is better than no loss. My “why” is for me to be able to move throughout the years to come & to be there to see my kids grow into adulthood 3 kids (24,18 &11). Great video exactly what I needed.
I’m 38 and do tend to go on and off WW. I do well for quite awhile then get so sick of tracking. Also after years of dealing with fertility treatments bc of infertility (and just wanting to be a mom sooo bad), I am now working through the fact I will not be a mother 💔😔 It’s been tough, especially where the last couple years I’ve been doing great healthwise due to needing to be under a certain bmi for fertility treatments. Now that I am no longer needing to do it for that, I’m going through a tough time with emotional eating.
I know what you mean. I sometimes take little breaks from tracking. I've been doing it so long, I pretty much can keep track in my head. I'm soooooo sorry you deal with infertility!!! I can't even begin to imagine how that feels. My daughter is 27 and she was diagnosed with PCOS last year, and she was told that may affect her ability to have children. I feel for you!!!! You will be in my nightly prayers!!! 💕🙏🏻
I just joined WW a couple of weeks ago and I want to lose weight, of course, but I am more concerned with eating healthy. I have been eating pretty much a Meditteranean diet and cutting out the "junk food" and the prepackaged foods. Concentrating on making simple dishes from scratch. Which means more time in the kitchen and washing dishes; learning curve here for being more prepared!!!! however, the nonfat greek yogurt and the beans I make from scratch are my best friends!!!!!! I have not weighed in since I joined. most of the meetings are during my work schedule. I count it good when I can keep it to the 23 points and get my walking in on a daily basis. WW is my structure and accountability partner that I have been lacking.
That's excellent!! I love that you're making things from scratch! I definitely need to make more time for that! I sometimes wish I didn't work outside the home so I could have a true homestead and a huge garden. I totally understand the structure and accountability!
At 65 years of age, I too focus on my healthy self. I still desire to get some of my post covid weight gain off, but it's not as all-consuming as it was in my 30s and 40s.
Sounds like you've had that mindset shift like me. I'm with you though. Of course, I'd still love to continue losing more weight, but I'll take it at whatever pace my body prefers. Thanks so much! 🥰
First off, you look so great!!! Love your hair! I so agree with everything! I tend to focus on the scale. You want that dang thing to just keep moving down and quickly and sometimes would go without eating. Going to focus more on health. I'll be 63 in june. Great video and so happy for your health journey and results. Give Kaitlyn a big hug!!❤❤❤
Thank you so much! And you're so right! I remember hardly eating anything the day before official "weigh in" just so the scale would be lower. It's a horrible thing we've learned over the years! I will definitely give Kaitlyn a hug from you! 🥰🥰
I am peri and losing weight has become so difficult. I'm so happy I found your channel because I have been on the same journey of changing from oh I have to lose weight to I need to be more healthy.
It's such a difference and definitely takes some getting used to. We will push through it though and just do the best we can for health! I'm glad you found me too!! :)
1-2 times a month I weigh myself. I’ve found I feel better if I can be more relaxed about the method I use to count my food. I’m not in a hurry and I’m lucky if I lose 1-2 lbs a month. I enjoy what I eat and I allow myself some treats. I used to have anxiety before my weekly weigh in at WW and sometimes I would hardly eating anything the day before. It was very stressful for me so I completely understand where you’re coming from.
Great talk kristi. Im 69 and remember what it was like in my late 30 and made life time a WW. Even though im not close to where i want to be when we get older the weight is diferent on our bodies. I was at a size 12 when i weighed the same as i do now in my late 30's But im in a 14/16. Go figure that out....lol. Glad everything is going good with your uc. And yes prayer is always the best way to go. We serve a mighty and faithful God. Love all your vidoes i have watched everyone and some more than once...lol
Yes, that is crazy about the size difference. We change so much as we get older. LOL He is mighty and faithful for sure!! And thank you so much for being so supportive of my channel and me! 🥰🥰
I’m 66 and it’s slow but I’ve lost 35 lbs so far. I weigh everyday just because I like too. It doesn’t really mess with me though. My numbers are all great and I’m not on any meds.
Hi Kristi, awesome news about your health. I’m an older person, so losing weight is so hard. So my mindset is if I lose a pound a month I’m happy. Prayers are always my strong voice. You look beautiful, go slow with weight loss, it will stay off . Half a pound a week is a good number. Best luck to you also. I weigh in once a week. Love your videos. So sorry to hear about your daughter wedding, but I think God has a better plan for her. Bless you and your family. 🇨🇦👍❤️🙏🏼
Thanks so much, my friend!! And you are absolutely right. God does have a better plan for her. She and I were just talking about how amazing He is and how he knows when something isn't right for us!! 🥰🙏🏻
@@PlanningUsHealthy totally agree. Your daughter will always have Him around her, all she has to do is keep asking him for direction in her everyday life. ❤️🇨🇦🙏🏼
Aww us mamas hurt when are children hurt. Aww 🥰 I am so happy she got baptized that’s awesome 👏🏻 just keep trusting God. He’s got bigger plans for her. He shut that door before more hurt could happen. Love getting to know you better. You are helping me every day. Love your encouragement. ❤
Awesome your UC is doing so well. I am coming out of a flare right now and can’t wait to get back to eating fruits and veggies. They are changing my medicines as well too. I love love love your videos and all your meals and inspiration.
Thank you so much!! I'm so sorry you've been in a flare, but I'm glad you're coming out of it!! It's definitely the best feeling when we can get back to the fruits and veggies! I miss them sooo much when I can't eat them! Prayers you continue the improvement! 🥰
That’s great, I’m so glad your health it looking good. Looks like whatever you’re doing is working. I would love to hear what your eating as far as fruits and veggies to get that fiber. I’m terrible about getting any fiber in . Need to make a change, and soon! Good luck on your journey!
It's really a mix of things. I eat whole grains which help too, and high fiber wraps. But other than that, it's a mix of oats, avocado, lots of broccoli, Brussel sprouts, bananas, berries, things like that. Thanks so much!
Ok last comment.I have been watching you for a while Kristi.I am 59 post menopausal but you really inspire me.I try to go by my clothes and not be a scale slave. We almost have beach weather and I cant wait to take the boat out and go swimming
Awwww...thank you!! You know I love reading comments, so don't feel bad about putting them. I appreciate you!! We need to live near each other and go out boating and swimming together!! 🥰
OMG! I got cold chills when you said your daughter was baptized one the day she was to get married! She is awesome for turning this experience around to a positive! God bless
her and your whole family!
Thank you so much!! She absolutely amazes me more and more each day! I learn so much from her. 🥰
Being in recovery and taking a hit like that I’m so proud of her for turning it into a positive!
I know! So proud of her! I'll share your message with her. Thanks, friend!!

Yep, my body acts the same since I'm post menopausel. I'm not a daily weigher. I can't deal with the weight fluctuations.
Oh, yes. The daily fluctuations can be hard to understand, for sure!
