Im hardly 20 years old and this is the best entertainment experience i could imagine but everyone else my age is more interested in social media. I find cars fascinating and history even MORE fascinating. I could speak with Donald and Jay for hours but I'd rather listen to what they have to say. Priceless information!!!

The most impressively smooth big engine I've ever heard was a Marmon V16. The owner proudly demonstrated it for me and a few others at a Dedham Mass Car Show. The light weight aluminum big block, light weight pistons with 16 cylinder pulses, all made it extra smooth. Silky. Whirred up and down, and clearly very powerful too.

Happy New Year, Donald! Love how this series w/Jay and you is weaving together the history of specific great homes in Newport with specific classic cars from the Audrain collection or on loan to the Museum. In this case, it's understated power and performance + in the case of the Marmon Sixteen, understated styling as well. As the Brits would say, "Well done, you!"

It amuses me, being an Englishman who lives within a stone’s throw of Rottingdene and Ovingdene (They’re both in East Sussex and Goodwood which, I guess you know, is in West Sussex.) that it took this show for me to look up Dene. It means small valley from the old English and originally the Greek. It’s not just cars and mansions we’re learning about here, but the etymology of the English language. Keep up the good work old boy! Damn, I looked it up before you told us the answer. Now I’ve had to edit my post. Patience my man........

My Uncle bought a Marmon to restore that was a sixteen cylinder Marmon. However, unfortunately he went bankrupt before he was able to restore it and I only saw it once; it was in his barn just on the outskirts of Cokato, Minnesota where he owned the Lundeen Tractor Cab company. He was a machinist by trade and originally owned a welding shop in Cokato. He had already restored a Kissel Goldbug Roadster of which was I believe one of only 2 left; the other was owned by Jack Dempsey who used to famously park his in front of Sardi's restaurant in New York city.. I believe his Kissel Goldbug Roadster, now resides in Harrah's Museum. He also had a Chalmers, another Kissel Convertible/Sedan with rear seats; and a 1903 Oldsmobile which is still in the family owned by his son, my cousin. All together he and my Aunt had about 10 cars in their collection all rebuilt and restored by their family.
With all the talk of the 16 Cylinder Marmon I was hoping to get a glimpse of the wonderfull motor which I believe was a overhead valve motor. It's a shame they didn't open the hood to let the viewers marvel at that outstanding motor which really stands out in automotive history, however I thoroughly enjoyed this video! Well done!!
