- In today's Tom Talks episode we take a closer look at a very special car, a unique Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato.
A DB4GT Zagato is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cars of all-time. Only 19 examples were ever produced but this particular car is totally unique amongst its peers and is a car we've had in restoration for over 2 years and a car we haven't yet shared with anyone until now.
We are planning on launching the car for sale soon, however, we wanted you to be the first to see it and hear about its wonderful history.

Without doubt a spectacular restoration. I smiled when you used the word ‘patina’ with regard the glass, when you have removed it everywhere else.
For lovers of GT cars of that period (like me), it doesn't get any better than this one. It's absolutely stunning. I like to think that its next owner will drive it in the manner it was intended.

What a truly stunning automobile, beautiful in every way. I actually prefer the headlights as fitted to this car. I imagine it's going to realise a huge amount of money, worth every penny I'd say. I remember being at the Silverstone classic event many years back and there were two DB4GT Zagato in attendance, a joy to see and to photograph!

I did not know this car existed. I knew all the 19 cars were slightly different because they were truly hand made. This is clearly the most unique of the 19 original cars. No price mentioned, but I am guessing between £9 and £10 million? More videos like this please 🤩

Restoration of the year! Bravo. I saw this one at Bodylines, masters of the english wheel. The original panels were power hammer shrunk, a lost art I presume.

My favourite car. I first saw one in the car park field at Goodwood🎉. I couldn’t believe it was firstly in a field with thousands of other cars and secondly that it had been driven to the meet. Such a valuable and rare car but the custodian (his words not mine) was prepared to drive it from his home to the racetrack.
I remember reading that the very first series I DB4’s had overheating issues in Italy because they had only been tested in UK weather. Maybe they had that in mind with the hood lid.

I've seen a db4 bertone jet, well that's what I think it was, it was in Limerick Ireland, it was beside a bmw 507, a beautiful pair indeed.

This car used to be blue, it's my favorite DB4 GTZ just because it's different with its open headlights.
One of the boxes to tick-off in my life bucket list of life, is to purchase a car from Tom Hartley, someday 🤞🏼😊🤞🏼
2:58 DB4GT/0190/L is the other DB4 GT Zagato with the chrome plated brass window frame surrounds rather than aluminium.

Looks very related to the Maserati A6G.
I think the proportions of the Maserati works better (sorry😅), as this is a bit top heavy in its proportions.
The rear is absolutely very similar to the 250 SWB. And I bet the car looks outstanding in person, but for me the Maserati is a league above in the design department - but this is totally subjective and no particular wrong or right ❤

Very nice but you say you want to keep the patina but besides the small scratches on the glass that you couldn't get rid off, what else is there as it looks all new and it is now just a restored car.

By special do you mean not half as beautiful as the rest with the covered lights ?

It definitely looks like a British 250 SWB with the open headlights but weirder proportions. Not a fan at all compared to the "normal" DB4 GT Zagato

A truly beautiful Aston/Zagato. It's an elegant car, but the grille is a little too small. The front of the Ferrari 250 GT swb does it so much better in terms of proportion, it pains me to say so as I prefer Aston Martins.

I can’t actually gell with its looks, especially the nose, the factory db4gt behind it is far prettier to me.
Amazing car nonetheless the less.
It's really gorgeous, never seen that traditional front-end spec on a DB4GT Zagato .. it lacks any patina which I find odd on a car of this age, but I have to say I still prefer the beautifully aerodynamic front end of the standard (🤣) spec DB4GT Zagato.
