What a fun game. Music is good to great. Story is just like the other GBA castlevanias. Not much but good enough. Exploration os rather simple, didn't get lost much. Difficulty not much. I found the final boss kinda odd, but the soul mechanic was amazing.
I remember watching my cousin play this game on his gameboy when I was a little kid, I have never gotten around playing it myself but it's very nostalgic to me...

That's why Metal Gear Solid is getting a Left 4 Dead clone and it's rumored that Metal gear Solid, Castlevania AND Silent Hill are being made into Pachinko machines since gambling is apparently a big problem in Japan and stands to make them more money then making quality AAA games.

Google is your friend ;) And it plays exactly like GBA because it's no emulation but pure GBA hardware goodness turning your N3DS into a bonafide AGS 101 and you can even play in pixel perfect mode. My first and only Castlevania I ever played!! A couple years ago, downloaded it!! The corridor theme is awesome!! Also, I heard that the other Castlevania games play like the other guy in this game...which I did not enjoy...so this is the only one I could possibly like!!
They never made a game about it but yeah, Aria of sorrow talked about it a little. I say the next handheld should be about the Demon Castle war of 1999.
@@kamith3984 I played this when I was 6, but I got stuck at the first ledge with grave keeper because I didn't know how to use souls. I replayed when I was 8 and sort of brute forced my way through everything lmao. I got stuck on Death for a bit becaused I used up all my potions fighting Headhunter. I was able to beat the game later on though, and discovered a few years later that I could get a different ending.
This is such a great game, almost the equal of Symphony of the Night, it's just missing a couple of things-- fun/useless items, and special moves for the weapons (and a larger variety of weapons/equipment). If it had that it'd be nearly perfect. The huge variety of stuff, whether or not it was all completely/directly useful, was one of the fun parts of SotN.

I'm nostalgic about this game, I had played the other two having heard beforehand about them, but this came to me with no idea that it existed or of it's plot or anything, everything was a new discovery and I was more intrigued for the plot than I ever was with the previous two.
Jeezzz!! I was getting ready to just call it quits for the night because in your video right around 1:58:49 where you have to push that wooden boat down the dry rails and you have to jump on it just in time and right about when the boat crashes straight into a wall you have to jump to make the high ledge above....I seriously must of tried it like 50 times not understanding why you made it look soo easy but I really wasnt even getting close up to the ledge....and I kept just replaying your video to try to see what I could be doing wrong...and that's when i realized this tiny thing that was stopping me from reaching up to the ledge was because after i would push the boat down the hill i would hit the jump button to jump up into it....but then I figured out the important detail was after pushing the wooden boat you just simply walk through the boat and he can still get on it and then that way you still have your normal and double jump to use to make it up there!! Lol I kept assuming you would have to jump into the boat not just keep walking forward and he just hops on but if anybody gets stuck on that part that's most likely the reason hopefully this might help others
Jus finished this game and now I understand the hype for it. Def the 2nd best castlevania game behind SOTN, period. Hopefully we can get more games like this esp The Last Faith is looking to be the closest thing to SOTN modern day.

And maybe go back to an style of old school Castlevania instead of another Metroidvania kind. Not that I hate the Metroidvania style. Oh no! I love it & I prefer it more than the old school style. There was no game based on Demon Wars of 1999. Wish Konami got onto that because it would have detailed Julius battle with Dracula.
