The wii didn't just innovate in therms of motion controls. It was a whole vibe in itself with the music , the shop and shop music , the mii plaza , wii sports , wii play and lastly the virtual console
Regarding the scarecrow arms, you say having them run through the body is unnecessary because it's hidden, but depending on how they made that mesh, doing it like this would actually save some polygons over cutting them off, and I believe that might very well have been the reason.
When something goes through another object or comes down to a point like with the scarecrows, it's to save on vertices. If the brown part that went through was cut in half, then you'd have two additional ends with more vertices each. Let's say a cylinder has six side faces, that means you have 12 vertices, six on each end. Cut it in half, now you have 24 vertices. So it's better to keep them combined if the middle part can be somehow hidden from view. The pointy end is a similar idea, instead of having six vertices on that end, when you bring it to a single point you only have one vertex. Obviously not always possible to do
When I was a kid, this was all I had to distract me. It's so cool to see details about this game that I never noticed when I was a young gamer. Thanks for the amazing video to take me back into memory lane!
I haven’t played this game since I rented it when it was new, but I remember Game Informer dunking on it on their top sellers list month after month since it sold really well as a bonus pack in with a Wii remote. Probably my fondest memory of the game since it was an average mini game collection that was a nice bonus for an extra $10 over just a remote.
wii play is so fun i love the whole aesthetic and feel of it me and my friend played it for the first time again in years a few weeks and the music is so nice and chill
Oh wow, I thought Wii Play was already covered, so this is a nice surprise! These videos are so cool. When I got recommended the channel so long ago, it wasn't something I'd really seen before. So thank you for all the amazing content! And you're almost at 1 millions subs?! You totally deserve that. You love to see it.
When you said "I'm your host Shesez" I thought you said "that's what she says" the first 3 or 4 times I listened and it was great considering what came before it.
Seeing the techniques used to make something look great with a low amount of assets, it seems mostly by using a limited camera angle, is very impressive. Also, UA-cam actually sent the alert for the video this time!

nice video :D i like the chill atmosphere, we're just looking at details in some of our favorite games, even if i never played this one i recognize it as part of the wii legacy, complete with its distinct "always use the wrist strap" type aesthetic.
This is so cool, I hope you'll do Wii fit soon that's one of the games that made me always wonder about out of bounds stuff but similar to Wii Play I didn't think it would be featured since it doesn't have that much content compared to other Wii games.
Looking at that text and comparing it to the other letters there, I'm 100% confident that it isn't "life surge cosmology," but I think it says "life saver cosmology." I could be wrong on what it actually says, though I'm positive it doesn't say "surge."
I didn't even know snipey already had 2 episodes up. It's mostly because he's converting games I'm not into, hopefully I get to see him hosts a game that I want to see.
Interesting that the sponsor had to specify "Hollywood movie star Orlando Bloom", as if he's not a household name and Hollywood isn't the only game in town of making movies. Changing times.
I love your content Shesez, even if it's a small video I can't wait to watch. And you know what this video made me realize? I really enjoyed dioramas and video games use that l shaped format like dioramas a lot more than I would have thought. This stuff is fascinating.
you should make a Boundary Break of Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando, its the second game in the Ratchet and Clank series, and you already did the firs. It would be really cool.
Oh god, Scott the Woz is going to be traumatized! This was the game the he was on the box of, but now his immersion is going to be ruined! Why would you do this to him?!
When I was like 5 I used to hate the shooting game because it made me REALLY upset and almost cry when I couldn’t save all the miis from the aliens and it would make me sad because I felt like I failed the miis and acted like they were real people that just got kidnapped lol
At 6:16 you can use AI to slow down the video without making it look choppy. Try out FlowFrames, it’s a free program that’s awesome for upscaling any footage to 60 fps. It also has a slow motion option to slow any footage down while keeping it a buttery smooth 60 fps. The only issue it has is that it creates some artifacts when you input any footage that has too much motion blur. Otherwise it works insanely well, I use it on my animations all the time.

3:15 they did a very good job at modeling a very accurate Earth. If you didn’t know, that what the Earth looks like in real life.
These games were so simple looking, but Nintendo internal did simple visuals much better than every fly by night shovelware developer

It’s so fun seeing a model move out of shot and just strike a pose or move in a funny way! 😂

Wii play and wii sports is such a classic game and is still is to this game, one of my favorite childhood game
It's so strange how immersed these things make you feel and then you look at them from another angle and it's a series of floating assets.
Nice video as always. I wish the tanks level in the original wii play was looked at, that was always my favorite
I’ve actually never heard of Wii play motion
