    U forgot to plug the neck hole with a potato or onion. The fluid in the can just goes straight out the top

    Question ... actually two questions. I didn't notice if the grill lid was on .. is this necessary to make beer can chicken? And ... can I do this with my Weber Smokey Joe 14" grill?

    15 minutes to grill potatoes? That seems.. way too short.

      Maybe parboil first, then crisp them up on the grill? Yes 15 min seems short.

    Should the evaporating paint be of a concern?

      I’ve wondered about that too. Or the lining of the can as the beer boils

    The weber grills tend to not have a lot of height to them.....does the lid close without hitting the top?

    • @GrillwithWeber
      @GrillwithWeber  3 роки тому +2

      Yes, it does close without hitting the top!

    How does the cover fit over the chicken?

    • @GrillwithWeber
      @GrillwithWeber  8 місяців тому

      We suggest a smaller bird to fit below the lid.

    Is the lid on the Weber Q tall enough for this?

      Hi! Unfortunately, the Q lid is not tall enough for a beer can chicken.

    Do you empty any of the beer at all, or just pop the tab and leave it full?

    Maybe let it rest for 15 to 30 minutes before carving. Use a ceramic chicken holder instead of the can. My chicken holder allows 12 Oz. Of beer.

    I didn't use a pan underneath the beer can chicken and placed directly on the grill. The chicken caught on fire....what did I do incorrectly? I even used the Weber Poultry Roaster.

    • @choddo
      @choddo 2 роки тому +2

      I think maybe what you did incorrectly was not using a pan underneath the chicken.

    Personally I would recommend NOT using a beer can, instead empty it in to a purpose made stainless steel beer can roaster stand. Heating aluminium will release more chemicals (although its yet to be proven to be dangerous - however aluminium is linked to Alzheimer's) , however I wouldn't risk it. Storing preserving and distributing in aluminium cans I'm sure would be fine, but heating them to these temperatures for prolonged periods then consuming it, I doubt will be good for you.

    • @AleXvWaN
      @AleXvWaN Рік тому +1

      Aluminum can contains water = beer and liquid temperature can raise only up to 100 Celsius.. so I don’t think that under that temperature some dangerous chemicals could be released.. IMO

      I don’t open the can so it explodes into toxic shards of aluminium all thru the chicken - tastes so good tho!!

  • @kj4726
    @kj4726 2 роки тому +1

    Don’t sit the chicken directly on a can. Seriously, don’t! Why? Chemicals in the can, inks, etc. You don’t want to eat that.
