I'm old enough to remember trying to get tickets with a land line (dial phone) back in the 70's! Of course it was pointless; all I got were seriously tired fingers.
The song is not simple at all. The drums are in a different time signature to the rest of the band only coming together on the 12th beat . The fact that it appears simple is because they are brilliant musicians.
Can you imagine walking out of that building back into our sad world? Everyone buzzing in disbelief. How can human beings summon this kind of exotic feeling that takes you across the void?
BEST BAND EVER!!! Notice, John-Paul Jones (Keys) plays the bass-part with his feet. 20 Million people wanted to go to this show. It's a guiness record.
The Drummer is Jason Bonham, son of the original drummer the late great John Bonham, filling the very big shoes of his dad playing his dad's original (YES ORIGINAL) drum kit.
Best live band ever. I saw them live 7 times between 1969 and 1980, and did try for tickets for this one, but unfortunately wasn't successful. Not surprising though , seeing as mine was one of 20 million applications. Would have been good to have seen them one last time.
9:27. . . .. How many YOUNG singers could hit THAT note. . And HOLD it. . . As STRONG as that. . . For as LONG as that? Not too damn many I'm 100% sure! And the guy was almost 60 years old when this was filmed. . (AND he looked good while doing it!)
There were only 20,000 seats available and when they went on sale, all the servers crashed with over 20 million request for tickets in the first 2 hours. Also they were all in their 60's. Kashmir was first released in 1975. Singer is Robert Plant, guitar player is Jimmy Page, keyboards and bass, John Paul Jones, drummer, Jason Bottom, son of original drummer, John Bottom. When they were rehearsing they told the crew, NO AUTO TUNE OR OTHER ENHANCEMENTS, they wanted to do it just like they did in 1975. Voted best rock band of the 60's-70's & 80's. Then came back in 2007 and did this in their 60's and killed it with NO AUTO TUNE OR OTHER ENHANCEMENTS today singers use.
New convert here!!! I'm just starting to get into Led Zeppelin's music myself. I knew and loved Stairway to Heaven because it gets a lot of radio play in my area and is always making the list of the 500 greatest rock songs of all time, which my local rock station always plays around Memorial Day. They call it the Memorial Day 500 and count down from 500 to the greatest rock song of all time and Stairway To Heaven is always in the top 10, but this is the first time I've heard Kashmir and you can't help but be friggin' hypnotized by Jimmy Page's guitar riffs and Robert Plant's vocals! Love this song!!!!
Oh, that’s insane. I know this awesome creation of a song, but never knew that this was from Led Zeppelin. Fantastic to see some of your earlier reactions HAP. That’s a great one, thank you 🤩🙋🏻♀️.
Don’t know how I missed this. Love Led Zeppelin. The poetry is strong in this one. Read that it was actually written about a trip (probably in more ways than one) to Morocco. It influenced Queen’s Innuendo - don’t know if you have done that yet. By the way, the lead singer is named Robert Plant.
They were in their 60's, pushing 70 at this time. Hip-hop took it from them. This song came out in 1973. It's one of the most sampled songs, mostly hip-hop...
Even at this age...amazing! They are in their 60s! I am too lol. The drummer is Jason Bonham...the son of the original drummer John Bonham who died in 1980. They are taking you to Kashmir! It is a place. Did you know there were over a million applications to get tickets to this reunion concert...I didn't get one 😢
So glad you were in my suggestions! Thank you for the mad respect. Gonna keep an eye out on future reactions. Highly recommend another musical perfection: Billy Joel - Scenes from an Italian Restaurant (live from Madison Square Gardens)
Oh, my God!!!! I thought I knew enough about them but was I wrong! This is the proof that Rock N' Roll (ers) never gets old! I missed this reaction but here I am now, had to make a figurative bow to these gentlemen! And to your open mind in music exploring.
Anything from this concert is fabulous. Their drummer died in 1980 and the band broke up. John Bonham the drummer is still considered the best rock drummer ever. Jimmy Page one of the top 3 if not the best rock guitarists ever. John Paul Jones one of the best rock bassists ever. Robert Plant is considered one of the best if not the best rock voices. They are so very diverse in their music. You should check out some other things from this concert it gives a good sample of their musicianship. Since they broke up, they've only played together a few times. The drummer for this 2007 concert is the son of their drummer who died. There were 16,000 tickets available for this night. There were 20 million ticket requests from around the world. 27 years after the band broke up. Says it all.
Kashmir is the northernmost geographical region of the Indian (India) subcontinent. Led Zeppelin visited there, and where I believe Robert Plant wrote this Song. They toured/traveled in customized Boeing Jet. That's what he meant by "let me take you there", "you know I could" means.
Actually, they hadn't been to Kashmir when Robert wrote these lyrics. They had travelled through Morocco- a place Robert and Jimmy have returned to since time and again.
You are on a slow caravan in a hashish dream .. grinding through the desert, sweltering heat, totally beat .. heading for KASHMIR .. Many of their songs are very druggy. This was an interesting reaction. I've always thought rap and Zep have a bit in common. There are really no other bands that sound like Zep .. they are impossible to imitate or recreate. Thanks man! Cheers 🍺
At 65 he just doesnt enunciate particularly well, but his voice is still incredible, if you check out some of there versions from their prime its easier to understand
IMO yes because the live has bad sound, they're much older, and that isn't John Bonham on the drums, you need to experience Led Zeppelin, not an afterthought
If you wanna listen to Led Zeppelin live, the 1973 Madison Square Garden concert recording for the 1975 movie, The Song Remains the Same, is by far the best for quality and will give you a better listen for LZ music
I don't know how I missed this reaction until now I think youtube is suppressing somehow. To answer your question this song has been sampled with a few people but most notable is Puff Daddy with Jimmy Page the guitarist of Zeppelin for a movie godzilla. Which as a huge Led Zeppelin fan I'm really piss off at Page for doing so. This is one of their epic song and Puff Daddy's cover even though they kinda changed just sucked. Led Zeppelin has been sampled from Tupac, Eminem, Beastie Boys, ect.. You should checkout Led Zeppelin When The Levee Breaks the drums are phenomenal.
This was the finale of the two hour concert......20 million requests for tickets for 20,000 seats. Greatest demand for a single concert in history.
I'm old enough to remember trying to get tickets with a land line (dial phone) back in the 70's! Of course it was pointless; all I got were seriously tired fingers.
The last flight of the Zeppelin - they took it out in style.... that is the style gentlemen. Rock n Roll. JPJ, RP, JP, JB gotta love it.
Best version ever. Robert Plant's voice is just amazing.
I like the 79 one live!
percy still had it
There's music...then there's LED ZEPPELIN.

Some of the hardest bars EVER recorded. Now THAT'S how you roll!
The Drummer is Jason Bonham, son of the original drummer the late great John Bonham, filling the very big shoes of his dad playing his dad's original (YES ORIGINAL) drum kit.
The GODS have spoken. All bow.

Keyboard sounds is unbelievable, awesome
JPJ...musical genius

Good to see that stamina at that age. It's great when the passion of music runs that deeply. (Copyrighted HAP3SPEAKZ) ©️
huh, he's 65 here, think Page was 67 or 68?

GOATS, Rock Gods until the end. Best of all time, every single one of them. Thank you, Jimmy Page!
This is my favorite Led song. These guys are in their 70s. They can still rock. 👍🎸
Thank you for sharing that.

ShariSez1 I know they are in there 70’s. I was referring to there age when they did this. 👍
Salem I knew that, thanks
"Kashmir" is hypnotic. . . .
Very much in the tradition of Ravel's "Bolero"
He can take you to Kashmir.... Its a real place

Everyone from Steven Tyler and Mick Jagger to Tina Turner was there to to bask in the presence of this greatness.
Don't forget. David Gilmore and Paul McCartney
@@bernardpoma2872 I'm sure ... not to mention
countless other famous people trying to just

Hi Jane, Yes Queen Innuendo, lyric video and Official Video have both been reacted too.
I refer you to the Queen Playlist here: ua-cam.com/play/PLJ9YwB64vpLl7lRuQT4-B3AsSmN33gHn_.html
Also at present, I have done only 3 LEDZEP reactions, but I`ll leave this on pause for now I think.

It may be simple music but it is very well performed. What a group!
Not simple at all
When the Rock God's roamed the earth

Did they tour with his son or just this show?
@michaeljimson6918 just this one time...sorry never saw this! 😢
So glad you were in my suggestions! Thank you for the mad respect. Gonna keep an eye out on future reactions.
Highly recommend another musical perfection:
Billy Joel - Scenes from an Italian Restaurant (live from Madison Square Gardens)
The words are actually important. Perhaps you might consider looking them up? Great songwriting from Robert Plant and timeless riff by Jimmy Page.
Many Zeppelin lyrics are hard to understand as written in a very cryptic fashion. That's one of the things that draws you into it.
Oh, my God!!!! I thought I knew enough about them but was I wrong! This is the proof that Rock N' Roll (ers) never gets old! I missed this reaction but here I am now, had to make a figurative bow to these gentlemen! And to your open mind in music exploring.
Thanks for the heart although I gave a comment with such a delay (this video was recommended to me just today, out of nowhere 🙂)
Such an amazing song and great to see this live. So easy to get lost in this song, even if you don't like the genre. They're classic
Legends.
And NO AUTO TUNE!
several several is going to be my new fav phrase! Thanks for the reaction to Kashmir!
Rage Against the Machine sampled this for their song “Wake Up”. That song was used at the end of the movie The Matrix.
ROBERT Amazing, John Paul Jones, Monster
So that’s why I’m talking to you!!!!....
Its actually very difficult to play correctly. Also this is a reunion. Its 19 years after it was recorded and a hit.
Check out earls court with John bonham..this drummer's father.

best group ever!! was lucky to see them live in Montreal Canada in 1975

Suggestion: have lyrics pulled up on your phone (or whatever) when reviewing Zeppelin. Their lyrics are too important to miss.
P Diddy sampled (stole) that part of the song.
I think it was sampled in the theme from the Film "Godzilla".
It was
Hap my friend welcome to Led Zeppelin….. they are always confusing, imho that’s why there the best , keep listening there’s so much more
"I can take you there" Where? you ask. Maybe to Kashmir?? It might be that simple :-)
Appreciate the reaction Hap. 🙏
I appreciate you for taking the time time to leave a comment. 💜👑👍🏽

Yes. I do my best and try and explore music further. Thanks for sharing the information. Hopefully there could be more. Stay safe. 🙏🏽

Do you know about LED Zeppelin??
Though this version is really good, & Jason Bonham did his father proud on the drums, I prefer the older lives.
simple…….!! LOL
Hardly! But maybe he'll learn!!! 😊
The rap artist borrowed this riff from LED Zeppelin!
