Apart from Victor's Adage "Always assume there's at least one Nosferatu in the room." I want to add another one "Always listen to Greg!" | think it may have gone slightly better.... Great episode regardless, the Inquisition ramping up is amazing for a finale.
As a local Los Angeleno I really dig Carl's description of LA's entertainment industry; spot on. Also, really love the shift to a primarily social rpg scene featuring our Toreador; nice contrast to last weeks game.
I'm still waiting for Jason Carl to intruduce himself in the beginning as "Hi, I'm a Toreador of undisclosed name that plays "Jason Carl", a storyteller and representative of White Wolf who wants to make you believe that Vampires only exist in RPGs and other fiction. ...Or am I. *sly smile*"
The ending does have a deus ex machina aroma to it, but to paraphrase Chekhov, if you show a Nosferatu in the first act, you should use her in the second.
Another amazing episode! Jason Carl and the LA by Night troupe are magic together. Can't wait for the rest of the season, but I also hope this won't be the end of WoD with this group. I hope we get to see another campaign of Vampire or some other WoD story in the future!
It is actually very funny to watch a vampire show restraint as she tries to negotiate with people who have absolutely no other agenda than to destroy vampires. Nelly G, in a situation where she should have been lethal, tries to hold the facade of a civilized person and suffers for it, where being a monster from the get-go would get her a much better outcome. Vampires underestimating the resolve and resourcefulness of humans is what makes Inquisition so effective. Also, when you have and single unarmed plain woman walking unafraid into a vampire den, the two armed agents accompanying her won't be the real threat.
It's funny especially since she should have low humanity, she's a diablerist, after all, she kills without much consideration, i think she should be at around 3-4 humanity.
I've been curious about how Greg looks back on his life as a Hunter His original team. The one that the coterie killed. How he went to Nellie for help and got enslaved. I've always figured that the Blood Bond helped him forget all that. But if he were suddenly freed from his Blood Bond to her and didn't have that instinctual love for her, would all that come back?
I'm a huge fan of the fact that we're finally getting to see some real play by the Inquisition here! This season has already been incredible and we're only two episodes in!
This episode was fantastic, both last night on Twitch and rewatching here. Greg is the best and I loved everything that was happening with him and Lavender being mad at mortal security. I hope he survives and would like Lav to survive too but am less attached. The ending though, with Jasper and Eva just brought me so much joy. Way to go Eva trying to bond to Jasper over Strauss
@@Orimthekeyacolite "Not in the way I had hoped" means "I am still bonded to Strauss but your taste reminded me what I am fighting for and strengthened my resolve"
Wasn't it established with the events with Chloe and Eva that Eva can't be blood bound? I think that's either a Carna loresheet thing or a five dot advantage you can take mechanically speaking. Of course, everybody thinks they're immune to blood bonds until an Elder makes you drink so...we'll have to see.

1mm to the left.... that's the problem when you have superhuman senses; you actually see the tiniest imperfections. Love the Burning Man confusion. Also, nobody expects the second inquisition!
Spoiler: Greg deserves to be embraced at this point. His mortal life as an agent is basically over, his cover is burned and he has a punctured lung. Also he's too competent to be considered expendable and, due to His knowledge of "blanks " , he'll adapt to Kindred Life pretty soon. Considering the fact that Nelly is Baron, there would be no need for permission from no one. And Vampire Greg with Auspex and Celerity would be a severe pain to deal with, even for The Inquisition
I hope Nelli turns Greg so he can be Stronger & have Things he can use in his Defense, But then who would watch over Nelli? I hope Lavender doesn't die.
I think Greg would be amazing as a vampire but he's not a Toreador. He's just not that culture, masquerade clans aren't just a power set after all. Honestly he'd make a badass Gangrel or Nosferatu. Dudes a survivor
Perhaps in future Nellie should listen to her security and evacuate when suggested to do so. Proactive works best when you have tactical advantage. They did not.

I mean I get the whole RP thing, but this episode was a case in point of when you needed to go Murder Hobo. You'd think they had no idea what Hunters are like. First of the intel: They knew they were surrounded and very under prepared. The response: Arguably Hunters are stronger than Ghouls also they don't care about the gentlemanly way of combat. I mean this episode is a great way to appreciate the draw backs of forgetting that action economy and enemy count matters.
Yeah, I mean players are always quick to kill and draw weapons when they assess the scene, I appreciate they genuinely seemed not sure of the steaks at first but I agree once stuff hit the fan it was more apparent
NOOOOOO JASPER DON'T TRUST HER! I mean, I like Eva, but she is a Tremere -- and you just gonna give her your blood? JASPER WE DON'T EVEN KNOW IF SHE LOYAL TO ANARCHS OR YOU ANYMOAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHHHHH
Victor and the prince last episode. Nelli this episode. Probably Jasper or Annabelle next episode. The fecal matter has definitely impacted the rotary impeller.
Was wondering about that myself. Jasper and Annabelle are more under the radar than Victor and Nelly. Although Anabelle is publicly associated with Victor due to the whole Baby B debacle, she has gone off the radar when it comes to LA since the end of the last season. On the other hand, this is the inquisition we are talking about, so if anyone can find them it's them.
We don't even know if Annabelle has returned to LA yet. One wonders who is providing the intel on these vamps, though. The Inquisition appears to have very specific and accurate information about their movements, enough to provide the lead time to mount some pretty big operations. Of course, everybody's communication security is laughable.
@@erichammer2751 Jason mentioned that the Inquisition hit the Sabbat first, so I suspect they got quite a bit of information from them about vampires in general, which would help them gather intel about Victor, Nellie, Vannevar and possibly Therese Voerman or X during the ambiguously defined year or so since season 4 ended.
@@suntiger745 But their information is very specific. They know the names of Victor, Nellie, and possibly others (it is not clear if they know Vannevar and Suzanne's names). I frankly would not be surprised if that damned flag outside of Victor's club has something to do with it. The Inquisition would know a Ventrue symbol when they saw it. This would point to Victor and his known associates being vampires. Ironically, Vannevar and Suzanne (and Ib) might have been incidentally caught up in an operation that was only intended to target Victor. That said, the fact that the two Tremere exited just before the hit went in is an intriguing coincidence.
Thank you! I spend a lot of time choosing music for each episode (but because I can't ever be sure of what will happen I end up choosing a lot of music we never use!). Unfortunately, the music is from a rights-managed service and not available commercially.
Some more questions for Mr Jason Carl that I hope he answers. Will there ever be a lore sheet for Smiling Jack, Jeremy McNiel or any other big name anarch? Maybe Nines? ;-) Will you perhaps ever share some of your homebrew notes? Id especially like anything on how you did Gargoyles as they are a favorite of mine.

@@nateperkins9860 They can do subtitles in Words. In fact I think that The Videos on UA-cam have a thing where you can have them or not have them. That way those who don't want them don't have to have them.
Jason: after the season wraps, would it be possible to have a discussion of what decisions were made back in Session 0 (if anyone can remember back that far)? You've mentioned that the Chronicle kind of went sideways after Jasper killed the Sheriff, but it would be interesting to see what everyone had planned for the Chronicle and how the events lined up with those ambitions. And probably instructive for other Storytellers who might fear their own Chronicles going off the rails. A subsidiary question is this: after Eva and X were added as full cast members, did you conduct a Session 0 type conference with them to outline their story arcs? This is also, I think, useful instruction for other Storytellers who might be thinking about adding other characters to their Chronicle.

@@Cristian-Akuma I thought that at first, but then again, she did drink a guy dry. Preserving the masquerade didn't seem to be much of a priority as the situation escalated.
Once they're underground and have a breathing space, perhaps she will, especially as Chelsea is just about ready to check out. Since Nellie is now at Hunger 0, she can afford to give a couple of points of blood.
Chelsea should have taken the other entrance to the soundstage, behind the agents’ backs, and gone up into the lighting rigging with that rifle. As a sniper, going toe-to-toe with the goons who were obviously packing was ... not the smartest move.
Nobody was mentally prepared for this kind of confrontation, and it shows. But I suppose they can be forgiven for not realizing that the Inquisition doesn't care how many redshirt humans they take out to get a vampire. Although since Greg worked for that organization, and was willing to burn down a whole building to get a few Blanks, they should have a clue as to the ruthlessness of their enemies.

1st of all - glad to have you back. Hope you are all well! After this episode I seriously doubt that either of them is/was a professional. This is not on the two players. It's on the characters. Both performed really bad at their job. All the time before and especially after the lady called Nelly a witch and repelled her. And Chelsea - trying to talk a man out of something by threatening his clearly fatally wounded friend(she was kneeling on the floor - stabbed in chest ). Both are deserving but not of being embraced...
They were not mentally prepared to pull the trigger (quite literally). This is not necessarily unprofessional, it could be that they misunderstood the stakes. But Greg has always tried to avoid spilling human blood for the sake of the Blanks, an attitude he needs to correct if he is to be any use in the war that has been unleashed. I agree that Lavender acted badly. A rifle is not really a close-quarters weapon, and she too went for the disable first, and only went for the kill after she had been shot. And Nellie, being a Toreador, was more concerned with style than substance, which could get her killed down the road.
@@erichammer2751 They clearly misunderstood the stakes... that's my point. At this time in the story ( only regarding their knowledge ) and with the background both have.. well. Major fuck up is an understatement If it wasn't for the nosferatu both were dead and rightfully so.. Nelly probably too. Nelly being Nelly is what they are there for. No blame on her. I hope Victor will step in for the necessary amount of ass whoopin' .. I doubt Nelly will.. Great episode though :)
You could also put some of it down to the influence of Nelli's blood. Greg wanted to bail at first contact, but she didn't read the threat and wanted to investigate. They kinda have to follow her lead. She would have done much better putting Chelsea at a distance with orders to shoot at the first sign of trouble...but that would ruin her film, so I'm not surprised she didn't want to risk it.
@@eyesofscyld "... She would have done much better putting Chelsea at a distance with orders to shoot at the first sign of trouble... " Just having her at a distance would have changed a lot. She does not have to shoot on sight - radio in that 20 black SUVs pulled up and people surrounding the lot is enough. (I understand that would have changed the hole episode and that it probably was a deliberate decision not to do so in favour of the plot - still that is what has happened and the characters should face the appropriate music ) It's nice that you are handing out excuses for them. Nevertheless, my point stands. They are there to protect Nelly and act in her best interest - that might include stopping Nelly from being Nelly - she is the baron after all. I don't know how Nelly will deal with this but I'm quite sure how Abrams would react.. I think you know too. It certainly would not be the embrace, that some here root for (As do I but not as a reward for *this* ). If ones blood has this effect on the ghoul I would not use ghouls for personal security. I'm looking forward to Victors reaction, since Campbell(dunno the spelling - sry) died on duty .. As an afterthought - seeing the incredibly flawed security on this and the first episode took away some immersion. I see the narrative reasoning behind it BUT acting so naive isn't at all in character for any of the kindred involved.. Sorry but what? - THE m*f* prince including his Scourge(she was about to repo the limo of Nelly's Sire - what did she do during the attack?) and the Sheriff present - is basically swatted by a hole army of goons without ANY prior warning. Applies to Victors People too but much further to the people of the prince. As much as I love the crew and especially Mr. Carl- these plot lines were not thought through or handled that carefully. Maybe there is a reason behind it all, but that should be addressed ... ( like the coalition having some special methods that especially stealthy - like Spell "Divinecloak of not being noticed" ).
And please don't get me wrong - I'm neither hating, saying it sucked nor tryhard nit picking. I'm totally invested in this series and my perception/reasoning are the result off 4 excellent seasons of tabletop. I really enjoyed the two aired episodes - even though they left me with some "wtf?" moments of the bad kind. Looking forward to Ep. 3 :D Yall have a nice week!

It's theoretically possible that Eva has been completely Bound to Stauss, and is now setting Jasper up for Stauss's vengeance on the Kindred who temporarily "stole" Eva from him.
Apart from Victor's Adage "Always assume there's at least one Nosferatu in the room."
I want to add another one "Always listen to Greg!"
| think it may have gone slightly better....
Great episode regardless, the Inquisition ramping up is amazing for a finale.
Jason Carl, you brilliant man. Getting them all into the sewers to have the coterie to meet back up. I love it
Victor ended up in the sewers last episode, too. I can see a reunion of the Coterie in the catacombs...
@@erichammer2751 :) That is what I was referring too, I am excited to see the next episodes!
Jason Carl has plans... Within plans... Within plans. He has made multiple notes.
I didn't even catch that! Need to go watch the next one.
As a local Los Angeleno I really dig Carl's description of LA's entertainment industry; spot on. Also, really love the shift to a primarily social rpg scene featuring our Toreador; nice contrast to last weeks game.
Thank you. It's such a pervasive, always-on presence in the city!
I love the depiction of Greg and Chelseas hypervigilance and ptsd symptoms so far
God bless Jason Carl. He really is one of the most compelling STs I've ever come across and he has inspired me and my games in so many ways.
Jason is most def a white tower guy.
Man, some make up and he is a perfect Nosferatu. He is clearly Mr. Golden.
@@Falha-Critica Once he really gets Gary Golden's voice down, I do love how Jason plays him.
That would be sweet
Check out Long Beach By Night! B. Dave is ST. Awesome series; amazing cast.
@@chrisbrink9873 well THAT got added to my library instantly lol
God, I love Greg so much. what a fantastically-acted character
It's one of the failings of a Toreador, as Mr Golden might put it "the Degenerates pretend so hard to be human that they forget that they're beasts"
It's funny especially since she should have low humanity, she's a diablerist, after all, she kills without much consideration, i think she should be at around 3-4 humanity.
I've been curious about how Greg looks back on his life as a Hunter
His original team.
This show deserves more views and likes.
Well, frankly, I agree. ;) (Thank you!)
It really, really does
Another Broken Heart….Another broken nail from biting so much from all this tension in this series so far
Oh, never realized that's what she meant! Well, no way in the world it would work, but it's still cute that she tries
@@LionMerteuil nah, she can't bind another to her, but can be bound. I believe it's the new clan bane since the Pyramid fell, but somehow Strauss appears to have a way around that?
@@LionMerteuil It was established Eva can't blood bond others to her, or as she puts it, "I can choose". We know she can be bound from Season 4 episode 2 when she has to roll to not be bound after feeding from Jasper in the Labyrinth

Jasper: I'm a goddamn Nosferatu!

1mm to the left.... that's the problem when you have superhuman senses; you actually see the tiniest imperfections.
Love the Burning Man confusion.
Also, nobody expects the second inquisition!
Spoiler:
Greg deserves to be embraced at this point.
I'd rather have Imelia do the deed.
I hope Nelli turns Greg so he can be Stronger & have Things he can use in his Defense, But then who would watch over Nelli? I hope Lavender doesn't die.
Lavander would make a terrifying Nosferatu, due to her sniper background. Maybe Gary or Imalia could do the deed.
I think Greg would be amazing as a vampire but he's not a Toreador. He's just not that culture, masquerade clans aren't just a power set after all. Honestly he'd make a badass Gangrel or Nosferatu. Dudes a survivor
@@mattgunia942 Greg as a Nos, I mean he's looking the part lately...
Perhaps in future Nellie should listen to her security and evacuate when suggested to do so. Proactive works best when you have tactical advantage. They did not.
The best role playing on UA-cam. Bravo to all involved. That ending scene got me. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Why is it that every time Suzzanne successfully digs into someone's mind they still get away with lying to her?
Why do I feel like im going to die everytime Im recomended this videos, they are great actors.
This was so freakin awesome! 🤘🤘 Greg's security is top notch (for a mortal/ghoul), and his and Nellie's relationship and communication is great! im seriously obsessed with this show, i love all the characters.
Another fantastic episode that ended in another cliffhanger! This season is so good thus far and each episode is causing a lot of speculation on my end. Can’t wait until the next episode!
Of course, Nellie's a Toreador, but that's what she gets for grandstanding.
Not sure what I'm looking forward to seeing more next...Annabelle letting go of her naivety and facing what she may need to become, Jasper and Eva facing off against Aurora(?), or X and Jeanette tearing up Santa Monica under the nose of the Cam and Therese as the Asylum is likely attacked by the inquisition(?)
Bound to be good regardless, going by the first two episodes. How will it all end though?...
This is a Spoiler...
You do know that Therese is Jeanette. She has "Split Personality Syndrome". I figured it out when no one ever saw them in together at the same time.

Oh, you son of a... Way to end on a cliffhanger, Jason. Bravo to the whole cast.
That was completely naive of Nellie to ignore her head of security...

Victor and the prince last episode. Nelli this episode. Probably Jasper or Annabelle next episode. The fecal matter has definitely impacted the rotary impeller.
I hope Nelly Turns both of her Flowers into Toreador. At least to save their lives.
Holy moly, that escalated quickly.
But I don't think they will be able to find Jasper and Annabelle
@@erichammer2751 I recommend re-watching all the stingers (the short vignettes at the end of episodes) for Seasons 2, 3, and 4. :)
Jason Carl, good work as always!
I love the music that is used here. Still hoping the soundtrack will be released at some point.
Loresheets are possible: our partners at Renegade Game Studios develop the Vampire TTRPG books for us, and if that's something they want to do we will consider it! Homebrew notes are also possible, but I think they're a lot less interesting than you might expect. :)

I have a question that hopefully one of the producers can answer.
Will you guys ever do subtitles? Im half deaf and dont catch low tones, and the auto subtitles are wildly inaccurate
Sometimes Jason Carl posts comments on here & he did. Find one of them and ask Jason Carl himself.
I think fan subtitles are open so people could submit some but I don’t think WoD would want to pay for them
@@nateperkins9860 They can do subtitles in Words. In fact I think that The Videos on UA-cam have a thing where you can have them or not have them. That way those who don't want them don't have to have them.
But sometimes very funny. For example, Fiorenza always saying "Victim, my boy!"
The auto subs are terrible. I'm not partially deaf, but I have a hard time catching what some characters say at times (especially Jasper)
The killing of the Sheriff wasn't planned? Damn that's good improvisation because that was kinda of the catalyst of the entire story

Wait, couldn't Nelly help heal Greg and (more importantly at the moment) Chelsea with her blood? Besides, both of them are already her ghouls.
She could but I guess they were in a public place and remember there are cameras in the building, but I agree with you.
YES! #HealGreg
No; in V5, ghouls cannot mend damage with blood/vitae. That's a rule from legacy editions of the game. :)
Although since Greg worked for that organization, and was willing to burn down a whole building to get a few Blanks, they should have a clue as to the ruthlessness of their enemies.

this was GREAT!!
Soooo looking forward to this one ^^,
Best season so far. Riveting!
At this time in the story ( only regarding their knowledge ) and with the background both have.. well. Major fuck up is an understatement
If it wasn't for the nosferatu both were dead and rightfully so..
(I understand that would have changed the hole episode and that it probably was a deliberate decision not to do so in favour of the plot - still that is what has happened and the characters should face the appropriate music )
It's nice that you are handing out excuses for them.
