Guys its touch sensitive meaning the softer you hit the drum the quiter the output sound gets and the harder you hit the pads the louder the sound gets. It's great. Also if you hit the pads in a certain way it's own unique sounds will come out
So did you actually buy it? I'm thinking about it. I don't play drums but was going to use it to create beats for my acoustic guitar songs... Would you recommend?
Hi Rodney, Both kits are great however, This Yamaha is a great kit for home practice, with on board metronome and training functions, its a great package.
Whenever i try to use the dtx402 app on my dtx402k, it aske me to update and i press the following buttons that they ask. The thing is, i dont know if it is acutally updating or not. It just keeps flashing but nothing else. I waited for about 30mins and still nothing and i stopped it. Do i need to connect it to my PC or just the phone and does it need to be connected the whole time and am i doing something wrong? Please help!
We'd recommend the Yamaha kit, especially from a quality point of view. They are also much easier to set up, and built with more reliable components than the Alesis.
Hi, I really want to get into drums and this seems to be a great kit. But i would like to buy a kit that will last a lot with me. Is this kit good with double bass pedals? I mean i wont play like really fast technical stuff, but sure i would like to play some blast beats and reasonably fast double bass lines (in the future jajajaj). Im a guitar player but i want to learn drums and play things like Kalmah, arch enemy and so.
Hi Aris, The 400 series does allow for cross-stick but not in the 402 range. You would need to buy the pad that comes with the 452 kit, as this allows for 3 way triggering. Hope that helps.
Hi Matt, it is pretty easy as the bass drum trigger is very sensitive to the touch. There is a setting on the module called heavy which also turns the hi-hat controller into a bass drum sound so effectively you have a double pedal. Hope that helps.
how am i supposed to make it have noise i tried everything and how are you supposed to make the drum kit have sound am I'm supposed to plug it in or something?
The cymbals broke after 3 months of use. Everytime i hit the crash it makes multiple sounds and I can't choke the crash anymore because everytime I do it makes multiple crash sounds. My hi hat also is fully tight yet it makes this clanking sound everytime I hit it. And the bass pedal is quiet and barely noticeable to the ear. Is there a fix to this ?
Have you contacted the dealer to let them know? If the kit was purchased from us please contact drums@megamusic.net.au so we can investigate for you. Thanks.
Can i connect my phone to play tracks in the module and listen to it thru my headphone while playing drums? And lastly is there a way to eliminate a drum part in a mp3 so i can fill my on drum part?
You can certainly play along with your own music! You can find a huge amount of drum-less version of your favourite music online! The DTX402K is a great kit for playing a long with songs! Check out the apps that are compatible with this kit to get the most out of it :)
@@splats6164 You can on the kick tower, but the rack itself it very tight on space, and the positioning isn't great then, the kp65 was designed to add a crash originally on the dtx502 series rack a few years back. If you were wanting more pads etc, your better off just purchasing a dtx452k or even a dtx522 and upgrade the brain and rack too.
The Yamaha DTX400 module is capable of a rim sound on the snare but that's not available on the DTX402 range as this has a single trigger. You would need to go up to the DTX452K pack as this features a dual snare trigger pad. Hope that helps, Mega Music.

why does EVERY E-kit sound like crap till this day? they sound worse that common drums on a keyboard. They sound MOST CERTAINLY worse than a VST. from toontrack
By the way people my DTX402K did not come with a stool, sticks and headphones. That was a limited time offer.
I'm new to this and I dont have a headphone jack do I have to get a new headset with a different jack ?
I got them (apart from the sticks) and I didn’t even buy the bundle

I like this set. Considering this as a home practice kit rather than the dw practice pad kit. Not sure which would work best for practice though.

If we add the dtx450k extra cymbal to this kit and then upgrade the module and change the extra cymbal to a crash, will both the crashes be chokable?
Hi Virgonado, you'll need to specifically use this new crash cymbal which is a PCY95AT to be able to choke. Kind regards, Mega Music Team
