You won't see these until near the end of the story, but it lets you modify the scaling of a weapon within it's 3 primary stats. For example, Kusarigama is D+ Strength, C+ Skill and B+ Dexterity. If I were to Remodel it I could change it to A- Dex & Skill, but Strength would drop to D-. Alternatively if I didn't want to focus Dex but liked Kusarigama I could boost the other two, making it B Strength and A- Skill while Dex would drop to D+ scaling. This allows you more flexibility in your stat builds and makes your weapons more closely aligned with your build to squeeze out more damage.
Alright question I've found a way to put attack plus on my weapon so I've decided to keep using the same weapon I have 6 stats on it and wanna keep using it cause it's really good with my build well it's level 85 and I have a level 90 weapon. They are both purple but it doesn't let me do it same thing if I take a level 90 soul core and attempt soul match it doesn't let me do it any thoughts?
Nvm just figured it out so in nioh 2 you can only take a weapon so high for example if it started at level 50 it can't go over a certain level it has a range to it

I wonder why some ranges of bonuses (locked, or otherwise) are so low? Even compared to Nioh 1? Amrita earned +0.8% is a joke. Even in the skill tree, there are skills that increase damage by 3%... 3%!!! I feel like a lot of stuff in Nioh 2 has been nerfed to inflate difficulty.
nioh and now nioh2 i never looked this up, i'm already lvl 102 in Nioh 2 (towards the end of end i'm not sure) and have just now learned this. it all seemed bizarre to me and i'm not sure where they have the info on this in game. Good to know, will be doing this heavy on my 2nd play through.
So i have this weapon with the inheritable ability Damage Bonus (Familiarity) and i've been trying to get it on another weapon i really like, but it wont let me transfer it, i've tried with weapons with no inheritable ability, and some that already had one, but i just dont get why i can trasnfer it to some, and not to others, like the one i want to, anyone can help ?
@@Jaychilled sword and odachi are very complementary, with dual blades also scaling decently with heart and strength. Tonfa pairs well with axe builds due to axes scaling well with courage and the switchglaive is more tailored towards magic builds so its a bit harder to pair it with something. Something to keep in mind though you don't need to focus super hard into 1/2 stats pre-ng+. At that point you don't really have enough levels to make a huge difference so id say focus more on meeting requirements for armor and dump points into magic/dex depending on how much magic/ninjitsu you want to use.
heres my question about soul match. what's the point? ok, it increases the level of the base item, but it doesnt change any of the stats on the right. soooo.... ??
yo just found out if u didn't know. u can soul match a soul cores stats onto a weapon with corruption and that's kinda big seeing as I found some souls with the gold skill transfer on them
I have a question. So I understand almost everything about Soul Match, I think, except one important part. How do I always make sure the base Attack or Defense value of the gear is going up in value, and not flatlining (+eventual familiarity max) or going down? Obviously I look at the result on the right, but sometimes no matter how high the value of piece is I’m using as material, I cannot get the value to go up. I’ve seen this many times. I’ve even accepted a flatline or loss of a few points at the +1 or +2 level, then suddenly at +3, the same materials that a moment ago would not give me a boost, suddenly now raise the base attack or defense?! I’ve even tried big gaps like taking a 0 or +1 up with a +4 or +5 as material, just checking to see the result, and the base stat is flatline or a loss. Then once that gear is +2, now those materials will raise the Attack or Defense. So, wondering how I can always make sure the base stat is going up at each step on the ladder. Thanks!
I'm unclear on what you're asking. Taking the level higher (0 to 160) will always result in a net increase. Increasing the incrimental value (+0 to +10) will always result in a net increase. It's *impossible* to experience a loss when increasing levels. You're losing familiarity and seeing a temporary decrease.
FightinCowboy ok, so I’m only talking about divine gear, all Lev 160, moving from ‘0’ up through the +1, +2 etc chain. I understand what you’re saying about the temp loss due to familiarity resetting, you’re only losing a few points that you gain back. But, sometimes we get a gain right off the bat. Sometimes the number stays the same, we just get the bonus from the Fam reset, and sometimes it shows as a small or large loss. I’m not sure what determines this. I’d guess that it’s the Attack or Defense of the gear being used as material, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Sometimes I’ve seen cases where not one of my weapons will give anything but a loss as material, then after taking a couple small hits to go up a couple ‘+’ ranks, those same weapons will now give a boost. So, I feel like I don’t understand something, or am overlooking something here. I could make a video showing this & post it if that would help
Is there any information about the pool of Active Skill damage bonuses that can be tempered on light gloves? Can't roll Night Rain Damage on gloves for some reason.
TY for the info Cowboy. Great video. I find the tempering option useful but for whatever reason when i try soul matching (in any category) the finished product always has lower stats than what i started with? So i skip it.
I'm sure you understand now but I'll say it anyway I'm assuming you're trying to soul match a weapon you've been using and would like to keep? So its gonna have maxed familiarity. When you soul match your weapon your familiarity goes back down to zero, which temporarily drops your attack. But when you get that familiarity back up, then your attack will go above and beyond what it was originally.
I can;t figure out this soul matching bs. I have a Purple Thronecrusher Cannon level 99, I put in a Purple Thronecrusher and the outcome item is Level 99 (same as original) and it's in red. What the heck does this mean?
Fun fact. You dont have to finish the mission. I got to the boss and ran out of time so i branched out of the mission b4 i complete it and it unlocked smith. I think perhaps u just have to speak to her in the cave.
I still cant figure out how you get 7 effects on a divine weapon, like the ones I see in your videos, I keep forging a divine sword, and I can only ever get it to 6 traits, and one of those is including the actual set trait.
Do the bonuses stack? AKA...if you have faster winded recovery on both the shirt and the pants does your character revover twice as fast as if you had that bonus on just the pants OR the shirt?
Luiworld1 Real late here but, 170 gear can’t be forged right now. With the dlc it will increase more than likely and allow us to do so but we’ll have to wait and see.
Great stuff cowboy, any general advice on when to sell vs when to disassemble, in Nioh 1 I always disassembled everything but this time I find myself short on money, despite not soul matching. Thoughts?
I feel your pain. However I'm happy to tell you that I found a 99% accurate guide thus far for me. Search Nioh 2 smithing text in reddit and the first one that pops up has two documents you can download
Look at the bottom of the screen when your in the item menu. Youll see button prompts like “triangle: select item.” For the specific question your asking, push R2 (or maybe L2 cant remember at the moment) and it selects everything that isnt locked
I can't seem to get my ATK bonus transferrable skill to move from a lv160 divine switchglaive to my lv160 +3 switchglaive. Weapon with transferrable skill has max familiarity. What am I missing?
Ended up working it out. It won't let you inherit a stat if your current weapon has something the same as or similar. In my case I had melee damage on my current weapon and I couldn't inherit ATK bonus (Magic). Tempered it out and was able to transfer. Bit annoying that it doesn't tell you which stat is the issue as I had other similar stats and had to try removing them all until I got the right one. If anyone knows of a list that exists that tells you what these are that would be amazing!
Hey do you need multiple text for some srmor sets? Cause I got an text once and only 3 out of the 5 armor peices were available for crafting and Im super frusterated after doing all this damn grinding
With regard to soul matching, yesterday I tried to move +attack from a pair of gloves over to a chest piece but it wouldn't allow it; this is in spite of the gloves being at max familiarity (and both pieces divine). Did I miss something or was that patched out?
Quick question: Im looking to imbue a katana with lightening, i have shock accumulation on it already, can you roll imbuement on any weapon or do only certain weapons get the imbuement (like rairiki in nioh 1) or is it just random chance to save up for and when you get lucky you get lucky?? Love the videos and the guides many thanks in advance!!

Luiworld1
Real late here but, 170 gear can’t be forged right now. With the dlc it will increase more than likely and allow us to do so but we’ll have to wait and see.
Great stuff cowboy, any general advice on when to sell vs when to disassemble, in Nioh 1 I always disassembled everything but this time I find myself short on money, despite not soul matching. Thoughts?
Mats are generally worth more than the items themselves so if you're broke you could always disassemble and then sell the materials
In nioh 1 which im currently playing whats the symbol which looks like a white plus sign? What does it mean?
hello
is there away to find out what missio drops what text?
ive looked at a few web sites they all have different answers
I feel your pain. However I'm happy to tell you that I found a 99% accurate guide thus far for me. Search Nioh 2 smithing text in reddit and the first one that pops up has two documents you can download
I never used recourses until now and I’m on (what i think) is the last chapter
What does he mean tab? How can you break down all items
Look at the bottom of the screen when your in the item menu. Youll see button prompts like “triangle: select item.” For the specific question your asking, push R2 (or maybe L2 cant remember at the moment) and it selects everything that isnt locked
I’m just curious on how to get more perks I’ve got divine gear now up to 5 perks but I’ve seen you tubers with 7 perks
You have gear and weapons with the orange icon on there weapon. You need to max the famaliarty and soul match itll stak to your main weapon
Is Life Drain (Ninjitsu Hit) AAA better than 32 Ki?
Really helpful for a noob, thanks!
You can use soul cores to level up purple weapons for cheap
i needed this guide
How do you make yokai weapons??
Hey do you need multiple text for some srmor sets? Cause I got an text once and only 3 out of the 5 armor peices were available for crafting and Im super frusterated after doing all this damn grinding
With regard to soul matching, yesterday I tried to move +attack from a pair of gloves over to a chest piece but it wouldn't allow it; this is in spite of the gloves being at max familiarity (and both pieces divine). Did I miss something or was that patched out?
@@halo7172 Actually, shortly after posting, I realised that I already had +attack&defence (switchglaive) on that piece, which conflicts with it.
Would of taken me forever to figure out without a guide 😂
Quick question: Im looking to imbue a katana with lightening, i have shock accumulation on it already, can you roll imbuement on any weapon or do only certain weapons get the imbuement (like rairiki in nioh 1) or is it just random chance to save up for and when you get lucky you get lucky?? Love the videos and the guides many thanks in advance!!
Croftzilla You can Imbue Lightning through Tempering on anything. I’ve done this with multiples types of Tonfa and Kusa
