I am a Nioh veteran, but haven't played the first one in a looooooong time. I bought the Nioh Collection yesterday. And I admit, I got my ass whooped lol. Thanks to your video, you taught an old dog some new tricks. Cheers!
This is a great introductory baseline guide bro thanks man. I know how late to the table I am but I wanna play this first before Nioh 2 and this is the best guide I've found so far
hope it will help you as I can remember Nioh 1 is way harder then Nioh 2 because of damage outputs and bigger level diffirences between missions. I recommend medium armor or heavy if you are first playing because if you miss dodge in low armor you are pretty much dead for most fights cuz of the stagger.
Awesome guide, here's a game changing tip, stay in low stance & dodge left or right while GUARDING and u will dodge through any attack ,don't guard and dodge and u will get hit 90%of the time 👍🏻👍🏻
@@80sNinjas dodge through the attack while holding block, use dual swords with mind eye skill or katana with left and right swirl dodge you will have much more i-frames.
@@DAS-2024 I appreciate the advice homie. Btw how do I do that Dash cancel thingy? I seen a few others do it and claim it’s from Ryu Hayabusa. I love Ninja Gaiden I must learn this secret technique! Teach me Sensei! 🥷🏽🙏🏾🧎🏽➡️
People played this game like dark souls ignoring the indepth mechanic and having a hard time, blaming the game too hard and dropped it. If only they spend some time learning more about the game, they are in for a great treat, I've been coming back to this game from time to time, and i always have a great time
I play both games and I agree nioh's mechanics are different and if you learn them it is such a great game just like dark souls but like you had to learn darks souls mechanics too right so why not with nioh anyway I don't really care I like em both x)
Dude i think they should tune down a little about the complacated stuff .....we're here to play a games not to have a course how the macanics works first to understand how to play the game .... i even searched how i can leave a level to the world map ... found out you need an item to exit a level ... every thing in blacksmith is about luck ... even if you grind for hours you can't get a better weapon then yours and you can't really upgrade it ... leveling doesn't help much .... bosses are soooo tough with what equipment you have that you can't upgrade ....
I prefer souls games so far because of their more simple but better ultilised mechanics. I just fought the white tiger and i’ll get to nioh 2 after im done with the first but so far i feel like ive been adapting pretty well. The one thing that i feel like i dont get the most are the bosses basic attacks. Ive noticed that iframing isnt the way to go 95% of the time but the positioning aspect seems a bit weird. For projectiles and charges you dodge sideways and for basically everything else you just dodge directly backwards or simply run away. Wouldnt it be more interesting if you had to dodge more depending on the direction the attacks are coming from? It just feels like especially with human bosses you run for dear life waiting for them to exhaust themselves. Then you poke or kick them to break their ki and do the grab attack and repeat. Am i just not getting something or is that really all there is to it?
@@t0q14s9 I’m coming back to this game , I definitely enjoy it but there’s a lot to tackle for sure. As far as human bosses go I had a similar experience with the first human boss recently . I’m not sure if that’s the most skillful method but it definitely seems like dodging and waiting till they’re ki goes out is the safest since they have many special attacks that will do crazy damage to ki or health if you try to block it or tank it
because the devs of this game thought 'dark souls hard' = getting one shotted and ganked all the time they completely missed the point of what makes souls games hard but fair - this piece of sht right here is just plain unfair I'm glad i finally 100% this game, never gonna touch it ever again
Thank you for creating this guide. I really enjoy the game but never really understood it. I never had the time to sit and look into it and started over a few times. With this guide I'm hoping to change that. Startedva new game and goals to stay with it. I've already learned more than I ever have before and to be honest I never thought this games mechanics were this deep
It is a really good game the first time I played this game it was really hard but when I understood the mechanics more the game wasn't soul crushing and pretty fun! hope the guide will help the DLC is also pretty cool.
I beat the game. Still have a few missions left. Half way through ng+ and 2/3 or so through the first dlc. It's hard to believe I'm this much better than before and I have a broken hand with a cast that can get annoying in the high intensity at tines. Cant wait to get this off. Have nioh 2 on order and will be here in like 10 days so hoping to platinum it before then or try too. I'm completely addicted to it.
Any critique or hint I can give that you didn't address is on your first playthrough get all stats to 10-15 and pick up the highest level weapons a d armor you can find, be picky once you finish the game and can start making builds on new game plus, if you still with one weapon through a playthrough you'll become more proficient with that weapon and be able to have a better understanding of the combat
I think I did talk about the weapon choices although for starts you would assume players wanna try stuff out but that is really their preference and eventually build towards their choices so you I though it would speak for its self.
Sloth is the singlemost game changing ability in the game, so neglect the Magic stat at your own peril! (On a sidenote; how are you almost level 200 doing so little damage, not having your Guardian Spirit stats fully unlocked and using gear with random stats? Was this just a quickly cobbled together character for the purpose of this guide?) :)
Thank you for making this - all the other guides for Nioh is 4 years ild and not applicable anymore. Got this with Black Friday special…..its a really hard game
Guy said the spear is worst when it has the strongest damage potential from all weapons and allows you to hit all enemies without taking damage. Plus it has the best parry, where if you parry you get bonus damage on top.
I played nioh2 first. Boy I didn't realize how many bosses they reused. I was like I've beat most of these guys already. But it's still a great game. I really hope they make a 3rd one
Yeah that was the main issue with nioh the reused enemies and locations they are making Wo Long it should be like nioh you can play the demo right now if you got ps5 or xbox x or watch on youtube
This is not an "ultimate" guide at all. It's one guy giving advice and sometimes the advice is bad (saying spears are the worst weapon is just....plain wrong). There's a lot of "this is good" without explaining why. Which honestly makes this a rather meh guide overall. Clicking like crazy through menus while cutting in and out with audio. Basically this need a better script, retakes and more editing.
Not only that, guy never mentioned that using different weapons will give you skill points for them, which is good as you can farm skill points this way for your main weapons and unlock more stuff early in the game.
A ninja throw build is actually really good as some bosses stay soft locked, throwing items is a viable strategy but enemies can easily one shot you, especially if you don't upgrade gear
Fantastic guide! How do you use Guardian talisman with two different elements (lightning + water)? Is this something that is unlocked later in the game? I'm currently finishing the second region.
i just beat the 14th main mission. this game seems like a mobile game dark souls. the simple level layout, the loot spam and even when i understood the complicated algorithms (i took a class for this game), i completed the 14th stage and the last thing i wanted to do was route around in menus at the blacksmith. i also played Wo Long and that was a lot of fun.
Nioh 1 really felt like copy pasted in most levels & enemies although the main levels stood out with variety I do like the game a lot though but with Nioh 2 the copy pasted is a little less and the new mechanics there do make the game a lot easier. I would have loved to play Wo Long but don't have a ps5 but it looks good though.
What I like about Nioh is that every enemy in the game has some kind of weakness that once you find out, you can easily exploit to have edge even in Crucibles that insanely nerf you (50+ floors). For instance Dwellers are annoying af but if you hit them two times from any attack or weapon, they stumble and you can do finishing blow. Same with Wheel Monks, they have weak points at backs.
Good video. I just started the first Nioh last night sense it is on ps plus, been itching for a new souls ish type game or something like wo long. This is definitely hard but I can tell it’s gonna be fun trying to get good at this 😅 I’m pretty shitty when it comes to bosses in any game like this so Im trying to get to the point where I can be a noob and get the sloth talisman lol

the level cap between the base game and dlc was pretty huge as I remembered so that is why it might be good to do the floor level so you get faster levels in the green tier weapons so you can do the DLC without entering through the gates of hell and die all the time.
