Nioh 2 in coop is like spending vacation with Uncle Piccolo. First word in the morning you hear is DODGE!, which immediately becomes motto of the day. And when you finally lay your bones to rest after tiring day, you hear the sweet lullaby of Why didnt you DOODGE!!
“Do not choose the bird!” I would argue the Bird is the best choice. You get the other two Yokai forms pretty quick and early anyway. The Ki Recovery passive on it is great early on and the Feral Burst counter is the most forgiving and acts as a free dodge if you ever get stunned in a Ki exhausted state.
Can we change Guardian Spirits? I feel I need the bird to beat Gozuki but I dunno if I wanna keep it forever. I'm still unsure of how they effect your character. I'm gonna go mostly strength as I do in every Soulslike.
Another tip: In any menu, you can get detailed information on any of the *copious* and often vague buffs and attributes that your gear gives you by pressing the OPTIONS/HELP button.
Im two years late but just in case anyone new to the series is still watching, its very important to point that that your health and ki DO INCREASE even when not levelling their respective stats. The gains are a lot smaller, but you get health and ki every level or 2 regardless of what stat you're levelling, so you only have to increase them if you feel like you are lacking in those categories. I still suggest putting levels into these stats, but not nearly as much as you usually would in a soulslike.
*Pro Tip: there's an option in the gameplay settings to automatically use the braid for a skill point upon pick up so you don't need to search for them mercilessly in your inventory.
For the "DO NOT CHOOSE THE BIRD GUARDIAN SPIRIT". Well, I picked the Bird, and it was the best decision I've ever made. It matched my playstyle from Nioh 1, the Spear and Onmyo build. Completed the entire game with Ame-no-Mitori as my primary guardian spirit + Azai Clan for the ultimate Ki Recovery benefit. Also, Ame-no-Mitori can boost your movement speed, making you agile, and a boost for divine rice drop, which was a big help in the early stages of the game since you'll be stuck with limited Elixirs. I completely disagree with that being part of the list, sorry. I would rather say, Pick the right Guardian Spirit that suits your playstyle rather than saying "DO NOT CHOOSE" the guardian spirit.
I tried to pick this up when it came out, but I was still on my dark souls kick, so my muscle memory was basically giving me the finger, and now, a year later with minimal dark souls and I'm enjoying it much more, my hand still intuitively presses circle when I want to dodge occasionally, but it's definitely better than playing dark souls all day then trying to remember to ki pulse
Ame-No-Mitori gives movement speed buff though, which is really useful. Its attack is also pretty good. I have completed the entire game with this spirit
As soon as you argued that choosing the bird spirit was bad because "you already get a free Feral form", I started to wonder if you were getting lazy on this. Having 2 Feral forms does not matter if you get the most out the starting Spirit's stats and don't care about the monkey spirit at all .
On the map screen just move the cursor around until you see a red spot and press x to get some free items the more missions the more items to find also goes towards a trophy
Fun fact you can find items outside of gameplay in the world map just look scroll around your map until your cursor is red than press a button and you’ll get a item.
13: Until you have a good ki pool, stay away from big weapons and focus on the Katana and Spear on low stances which allow for quick hits and faster reaction times for dodging. That will help you avoid those situations when you're locked in a long attack animation and get hit for half your health.
Yeah.. no dont listen to this dude. Theres lots of reasons to not do this such as low stance not doing good damage, you're missing out on how to use the weapon you will switch to later through this method, you're also missing out of skill points for the weapons you're not using, etc etc
Took me three years to get into Nioh (I am completely terrified of Ninja Gaiden, tho I have played and finished Tenchu, another game in the same style) and now I cannot get enough of this game. Got Nioh 1&2 during ps plus months, now I’m playing both in parallel (bought the ps5 upgrade for both including all the DLC’s) Gonna dive into Wolong soon after I’m done with them (got 90hrs in Nioh2 already)
I’m curious if our character can become OP like the first one, grinding all the gear so we could destroy bosses. That was my favorite part of the first game
Just bought the deluxe edition for ridiculous amount of money in PSStore when converted to our nation's currency. I hope it was worth it. I loved Nioh 1 so I hope it did not changed to much :)
Corrupted weapons can also be soul matched with Soul Cores for significantly less than being soul matched with weapons of the same level. I took a seething dragon from 20 to 40 with a soul core for 12k vs using another level 40 switchblade which would have set me back 130k. If the soul core has a transfer skill it will move to the weapon too.
@@alekesam It is only available for weapons that have the Imbue Corruption attribute. When you are selecting the material to combine, Soul Cores is an option at the very end of the Category list. Its not quite as useful end game since the soul cores cannot affect the + value, only the base level of the weapon, but its very good early game just because of the massive price reduction in leveling weapons up.
Better way to trigger Ki Pulse almost every time - Hit R1 when that "White" Ki bar fills to the top right after you've attacked or dodged. Timing this is about 10 times easier than looking at the little white sprinkles !!

You're correct. However, I would only recommend sacred water in the beginning of the game. Once you get some progression in the Onmyo tree, I recommend getting barrier talisman asap, and using it through the entire game. I think the challenge here is learning to use Yokai shift and Yokai Abilities, and all the new enemy movesets. Some of the old enemy movesets have been added on to or changed and so all the old habits from Nioh are working against me a bit. Plus some of the system mechanics have changed like how defense works (it's a lot better now). I think if you're struggling, just have an NPC buddy come with you. His statement @2:23 is FALSE. You will want to be investing in ALL of the weapon skill tress because you can assign abilities to different weapons from different skills trees. This encourages experimentation with every weapon and methodical tree/skill building
Not really in 2. All of the passives are now available in every weapon's skill tree(being exclusive to that weapon, so you lose them when you switch weapons if you didn't also pick them up on the weapon you're switching to). As for the new active skill modifiers, they're all in either the Samurai tree or the Shifting tree, which are both global anyway, with you getting more samurai skill points at certain levels and shifting skill points by purifying soul cores.
Question. how do you send Stuff to the Storehouse? I have tried everything I can think of and right now i am so over encumbrance I am at 92.7 % out of 37.7%.
The bird is a free dodge and a bloodborne parry 10/10 brute is next cause its mindless easy parry and great attack damage 9/10 the sharks one takes more patience with its parry something thats very hard in combat and a specific build thats more ranged 6/10
I got a question, does Torii gate work exactly like in 1st game? so you can play entire game in coop with shared progress for both players exept some side missions (duels)?
banshou tenin same here man 🙄😭 but in time it will only make us better. For me its getting easier i can say though yet still difficult. Im learning to just be patient and not rush into a fight its working somewhat for me right now lol
Never played these souls like games. Nioh 2 is my first crack & the bull in the first mission has me paranoid for the rest of the game. I’m on the 2nd shrine & lvl 11. I’m not moving forward to complete the mission & face him till I’m like lvl 22. I’m just upgrading all my stats strategically & getting familiar with the Hatchets, Spear, Odachi, Axe& Glaiver. Does it sound like I’m on the right path lol? Let me know
do the mission till you get to the point where you got the key to open the last door (dont know how the key is called exactly). to that point your level should be high enough to with Gozuki (the bull demon in the beginning of the mission) and which weapon to play ? katana is very beginner friendly. and the switchgleave is op (range, speed and damage are really good)
It wasn't a mistake for me to choose bird ferral in the beginning. I rely heavily on dodge since my timing can be bad. I tried other two types later but they weren't my style.
If you are tempering your armor and you run out of umbricite for the lowest ranking skills, the game won’t tell you. Instead, it will use the next highest one you DO have as a cost for the tempering I basically threw away all my umbracite this way and didn’t notice until I had only 11 divine umbracite left Still kicking myself over that
You invest your points according to your weapon of choice not because you are scrubbing and can’t manage your stamina. Don’t waste your levels on stats that you don’t need trust me this is not darksouls and nothing alike.
Playing Nioh in English dub? Asking me to summon? Telling me stuff I already know? And telling me not to choose my bird? (Even though it is undoubtedly the best one) You have got some nerve my friend.
@SheCanDoMe I agree with you. I was also blinded by jealousy I completely forgot that gaming channels and some streamers get it early. BS if you ask me
for number 9 I thought you gained all 3 once the tutorial is over? you just need to use a shrine to swap out. Unless that's been changed. I just hope there's a 4th form and for a unlimited yokai form build to return.

All that interests me is the PC release date...my body is thoroughly ready!
How does he have water dmg on the odachi as base dmg without a item?
i disagree the bird is one of the best choices you can make early on, the ki recovery it grants is so op early on
Question. how do you send Stuff to the Storehouse? I have tried everything I can think of and right now i am so over encumbrance I am at 92.7 % out of 37.7%.
Press L3
That's due to the weight of your armor you're wearing, not the items you have
@@ikewagner yep I was a Derp. I thought i had on my light armor and I ended up with heavy armor.
You can
The progress is for both know
Quick question can you only use or buy the book of reincarnation once
Nope, it just gets more expensive with each purchase 😁
Dude i cant pass the first level
banshou tenin same here man 🙄😭 but in time it will only make us better. For me its getting easier i can say though yet still difficult. Im learning to just be patient and not rush into a fight its working somewhat for me right now lol
Kinda wish you didn't add boss footage
Does he not realize each feral is different?
Can you dodge and ki pulse at same time cos in Nioh 1 that trait had to be unlocked, very janky without that.
He literally said there is a skill for that
The bird spirit is the best spirit to choose.
Let me know
I bought it last night and I still haven't been able to beat the first mission man so I'm sure you're doing great in comparison
do the mission till you get to the point where you got the key to open the last door (dont know how the key is called exactly). to that point your level should be high enough to with Gozuki (the bull demon in the beginning of the mission) and which weapon to play ? katana is very beginner friendly. and the switchgleave is op (range, speed and damage are really good)
It wasn't a mistake for me to choose bird ferral in the beginning. I rely heavily on dodge since my timing can be bad. I tried other two types later but they weren't my style.
If you are tempering your armor and you run out of umbricite for the lowest ranking skills, the game won’t tell you. Instead, it will use the next highest one you DO have as a cost for the tempering
I basically threw away all my umbracite this way and didn’t notice until I had only 11 divine umbracite left
Still kicking myself over that
Eat that ninja hair
So is Anjin no longer in the game?
He is
Wow this is it, One of Difficult Game in this Year beside Sekiro & Ghost of Tsushima!!! 😨😨😨
Sekiro was last year
You are in every Nioh video, Caroline 😅😅😅☺️☺️☺️
Ori and will of whisps
@@tuantani8480 Sekiro 2 is Nightmare!!! 😨😨😨
@@SlowLearner-z3h I Hope So!!! This is Nightmare 😲😲😲
(Even though it is undoubtedly the best one)
You have got some nerve my friend.
How are people already playing this game? I thought it comes out on the 13th of March
I would also like to know
Thinking the same damn thing
Early review copies ya dumbs
Strip Dancer of the Frigid Valley yah know I was so blinded by jealousy I forgot that was a thing lol
@SheCanDoMe I agree with you. I was also blinded by jealousy I completely forgot that gaming channels and some streamers get it early. BS if you ask me
Stuff you should know? More like i skipped the intro.
what does the cat do?
The ki pulse is a tip? The tutorial tells you that... Ugh. These videos from "well known" website about tips are so lazy all the time.
for number 9 I thought you gained all 3 once the tutorial is over? you just need to use a shrine to swap out. Unless that's been changed. I just hope there's a 4th form and for a unlimited yokai form build to return.
That's what I want to know 😗
Use benevolent graves, they are in the game for a reason. Yeah, to help people who can't git gud.
This game is hard af
Nioh 1 is harder.
Wish this could be on xbox, I love souls like/difficult games
Lol never
How can you transform into a yokai? I mean do the full shift?
Lets beat this game quickly ...
