    I truly love the Commodores from Tuskegee Alabama where my cousin Charles WK left high school to join the Tuskegee pallets went on to for real to be a captain came home and help me with my algebra and geometry easy make Sunday morning is my favorite song Thank you Lionel Richie❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I love lady this is so beautiful thank you for your music your dance your voices are magnificent love you forever Nora Hartford

    My best friend's uncle was their manager. Went to several concerts free before i was 13. One summer went on the road with them selling chains and t shirts. First concert for me they were the lead act for the Jackson 5

    from Kenya..we loved dancing to the mighty commodores...one of the few groups whose live melodious music was as great as their studio recorded music...their ballads are some of the best ever....

    I really wish they would get the remaining original members of the Commodores together for just ONE more reunion concert while they still have the ability to do that for their fans. Fantastic job on the song Jesus Is Love. Amen

      Yes that would be awesome if they did a tour with the remaining living members . Keyboardist Milan Williams died years ago unfortunately but the others are still here.

      @@veedapd588 out of all The original Commodores that's still touring today is William King , Walter Orange, and JD Nichlos , who joined the group in 1984/85. The rest of the guys need to re-group, that would be awesome huh?! Keep on lovin The Commodores!!!

    Good concert, a very talented group with guys playing multiple instruments, I saw them in 2007 only two remaining original members, it would've been a treat if I had saw them in early 80s with Lionel

      Not only that, but Clyde had (has) one of the better voices of his generation. A WHOLE LOTTA of the extended vocalizations, the high tenor, the raspy soul stuff, and virtually ALL of the harmony, was Walter Orange.

    THE ORIGINAL COMMODORES as College Students they would tour and Open up For A Group of High School Kids called THE JACKSON 5.And I notice a lot of the same Dance Moves and even early costumes worn by both Groups and I can't help but wonder who copied who or was it mutual as they Both Grew and went on to Be SUPERSTARS.Love&Peace😁😎✌🤘💙🖤luv ya byo eJ

    Saw the Commodores with Lionel Ritchie at the Omaha Civic Auditorium 1976 or 77 -- four rock and rollers from Offutt AFB with free tickets waiting to make fun of them. They ROCKED THE HOUSE!!! We were blown away! A guitar player (McClary? King? Who knows!) came over to where we were seated and threw a pick at us. A couple of great looking chicks dived at it! What a fucking party, man! For the next month, The Commodores replaced Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple in the halls of the military dormitory we lived in. Great times! Thank you Commodores!

    Thanks so much for sharing. I had this same concert recorded on VHS tape in the early 80's, but my Mom erased it. This is the first time I've seen this concert in about 35 years. I always remembered Lionel Richie singing to Susan Anton.

    Thanx, RB. Mixed feelings on this one. Great band in 70s, 80s... then, in steps the System up 2 its usual Tricknology & good-bye money. Sad to see such gifted Brothers manipulated in this way, but even I didn’t understand the Systemics back then. Great concerts in those days!

      Wow didn't know that. Does that mean that for instance the bass player of the Commodores was faking it live ? Of what instruments did the backing band consist ? It's not like the Commodores were a purely vocalist group, so to have a backup band for a band that already has instrumentalists as their regular band members, that's strange.

      It was not uncommon to have a backup group and singers in the wings. Now they use soundtracks.

      No their bass player Ronald LaPread definitely was not faking it. The Mean Machine consisted of 3 musicians they took out on the road with them. I can't remember their names. It's like EWF had extra musicians they referred to as the Phenix horns.

      Back up rythem section, they also sang back ground .
      Switch instruments during performance.
      The Commodores were a complete band and show.
      I saw them on six occasions; in three different cities.
      My only disappointment was.
      When they shared the billing with, I think three or four other groups .
      The songs were short and not their best!!!but still pretty good.

    Lionel was just too big of a talent for the Commodores to contain. I was so disappointed and hated it when he left the band but i understood. His showmanship and charisma along with his writing and musicianship is what made him one of the most successful solo artists ever

      Fancy Dancer was the SOUL/Funk hood cut,..the best funk,..and Zoom and Sweet Love were the slow cuts !! They played Brick House to death in the 70's and 80's,..and it never recovered to me !! Sail On was at 17:00...
