The Lion deciding to Exterminatus each of The Traitor Legion's homeworld's was a really smart move. Even if Terra fell,he'd have made himself public enemy number one and bought time for the other Primarch's to re-organise.
And now that mf back. I hope he'll be warmaster and be the one to lead the armies of the Astra Millitarum and astartes and have guiliman focus on fixing the shit hole that is the imperium
Man the Ultramarines and Dark Angels being held off for years was both clutch and funny seeing as how they were both the strongest chapters but at least the Blood Angels got to terra now I’m wondering how he’ll react to the current situation and how paranoid and secretive his sons have gotten
Imagine if Lion had had an ounce of social ability. “Luther, you have been my trusted friend and mentor for my whole life. The dark angels hve lost their way, no longer are the knightly valours of our homeworld being adopted by initiates. That is why I trust you and you alone to bring them back into the fold. I must send you to Caliban to train the next generation as you trained me in our ways. Make the Legion true to Caliban once more”
I really hope we can get more of these videos breaking down what each legion did during The Heresy. Hopefully MajorKill could cover what The Mechanicum and Custodes did during The Horus Heresy too
Custodes got stomped down to maybe 700 Brothers in the war of the Webway The Mechanicum did Mechanicum things Built weapons and ships Loyalists changed to Adeptus Mechanicus Mechanicum kept the name They built stuff for each side respectively

But the civil war on Mars had almost 0 effect on the greater Heresy
I knew a little bit about Lion and the Dark Angels because of the Horus Heresy Card game, my favorite piece from the Legion was how Corswain stabbed Konrad in the spine while the former was choking Lion.
The thing I was wondering about the Horus heresy was the what if scenario of "What if Magnus never broke the webway?" I'm thinking Magnus would try to jump back to Terra as fast as possible, telling each legion he encountered that Horus became a traitor. Horus hears about this and considers Magnus a bigger threat, and later tries to send Rus after him, but Rus this time would be more suspicious. The fleets of the thousand sons and space wolves would meet, maybe some physical conflict, but Rus would want answers and Magnus would explain. Russ probably wouldn't believe him, but Magnus might be willing to do anything to get home, so he willingly goes under the wolves' custody. I also had an idea that because of this, Horus would organize less troops to Istvan V and the loyalists would have a much higher survival rate. But in exchange, there would be a larger body count on the side of the Space wolves and Thousand Sons, possibly even the death of Leaman Russ. Maybe if Magnus would be able to Terra, the final battle would see Magnus on the golden throne instead of Machedor, fulfilling the prophecy of the Emperor's vision of Magnus.
Magnus could probably show Russ what he saw. Basically reading/showing him his memory. Russ would belive him and the setting would be so noble bright its extrordinary, Instead we got things like the daemonCalbasa WHICH I ONLY RECENTLY FOUND OUT WHAT IT WAS.
yeah magnus did kinda ruin everything but its not like the empeoer handled it well i mean its like sending your school bully to deliver you your lunch money
I love how both Sigismund and Ralderon (2 of the biggest badasses in 30k) looked at Corswain and went “Yeah, this guy is good. Look out for Corswain”. Corswain was basically a perfect blend of the 2 (he was said to have the battle fury of Sigismund, and the levelheadedness/command talents of Ralderon).
So basically: The lion acted autistic, did some war crimes, stopped being autistic, went full nakama mode and sleepy sleepy for a few thousands of years by some eldritch black mages.

Thanks to you, I have realized Dark Angels are what I want out of a loyalist army. I started my DA collection by first getting the Lion, and making an awesome trade for the out of production Fortress of Redemption! I am very excited to put models on a table this upcoming edition so my enemies may REPENT, FOR TOMORROW THEY DIE
Would be cool if you could do a video how heresy would've gone if different legion and primarch went through the rift instead of blood angels and Sanguinius (Guilliman and Lion for example) to defend the Terra Edit: because each legion has its own strengths and weaknesses, Guilliman would've been a better general for defending the outer walls but isn't a powerful enough warrior to defend the palace alone like Sanguinius did
The Lion knew that Caliban was lost to him. Whilst he was zipping around destroying traitor worlds, the Jawas were telling him what was happening and that he needed to return to Caliban before it was lost to chaos. He told them that his duty (destroying traitor worlds and supply lines) was more important than his own home.
Once more, @Majorkill I have come to these comments to beg for a video on the Hexagrammaton of the Dark Angels. The Lion would definitely bring it back if he reunited the Fallen and the Unforgiven into a Legion again, and there aren’t really any actual in-depth videos about it. Also, the Dreadwing is OP and that would be sick to hear about in a video. Keep up the great work dude! Your videos literally got me into Warhammer!
Getting a video about how each of the pre heresy primarchs would have reacted to being in Guillimans situation of being the first primarch to arrive would be pretty cool ngl ( I'll stop asking if I get any form of recognition )
I don't blame the Lion for giving Perturabo superweapons, after all he probably liked the fact that he was ruthless when it came to committing war cimes and never complained.
MajorKill is f*cking awesome to watch, his content and style is down to earth, entertaining and even more so when you are Australian. Just super great stuff and it feels as if he connects on a personal and more informal level which is amazing. Keep it up ya mad lad!
After the Siege of Terra ends, I really a series on the Scouring/Legion Wars. I just really want to see more on the Scouring, the Legion Wars, and how the Imperium starts to recover.
I do believe another part of the dark angels "loyalist" meme is for example a black templar company disappearing after having handed over a Fallen to the Dark Angels. The Dark Angels have no problem fighting other chapters or anything if they interfere with the pursuit of the fallen in any way. It's part of what makes them cool imo but sometimes they do go a bit overboard.
If I recall correctly, Pert ordered an orbital bombardment of Olympia himself shortly before the heresy. The fear of Emperor's punishment for this very act was allegedly one of the main reasons he sided with Horus. Of course, the real reason for him going traitor mode was likely the same he had for murdering his own planet in the first place. Rampant insecurity issues. So, not much left for the Lion to do there, except grunt in further disappointment.
Regular humans were the most interesting part of the series. Imagine nearly warrior gods going to war with each other. Truly incredible for the average joe.
Apparently the DA have 3 Gloriana class Battleships one is active(loyalist) the other destroyed while the 3rd The Truth's Razor status is unknown unless recent lore has rectified its status.
The new dark angels 20th anniversary book about chaplain boreas is so good and really adds to lore about heresy. Directly from chapter commander Astelan's personal account.
I always found it interesting how the first legion's situation mimicked the events of the Horus Heresy. Luthor and a lot of his followers felt like their leader/genedaddy had deserted them and their resentment over being (as they perceived) sidelined caused them to be open to corruption by chaos and turn against their genefather. Just like how Horus feeling abandoned and sidelined by the emperor opened him up to chaos corruption. Like Father like son.

I like how the Lion is incredibly badass but flawed. The Primarchs are interesting because many of them have the same follies we see from some of the greatest warriors and leaders of our past.
Just to put it out there I really like the human perspective on things. If all the books were was "x space marine did Y awesome thing" for 10000 pages it would get dull pretty fast. Take the book Pharos for example. All about the night lords attacking an agriworld that holds an artifact of incredible significance. Its the perspective of the part time guardsmen who think their little agriworld will never get involved in the war then reacting to the horrors of being attacked by the Night Lords that gave the book so much depth especially as they desperately try to find the courage to fight back.
