There's a moment in one of the plague wars books where we see from Felix's perspective, while buried under rubble, he sees a Grey Knight fighting one on one with greater demon before Felix passes out. Favorite part of 40k so far.
I originally liked the grey nights mainly for their aesthetic and a few feats I knew about, but knowing how powerful they can really be that just cements my appreciation for them even further.
I love every time the Sigismund fulgrim fight is mentioned. Sig being Sig thought it a good idea to attack fulgrim while he was watching the battle. He didn't cause fulgrim too much of an issue but he did manage to cut him. This angered fulgrim so fulgrim swatted him away and laughed about it. Then Dorn shows up sword and shield in hand and says "Sigismunds courage often outweighs his abilities, Mine does not" The best moment in the siege of terra series so far imo. Especially with Johnathan Keeble voicing the audiobook.
They initially were cause at one point custodes were essentially just as strong as space marines. They then retconned custodes to what they are now (which is why there's old lore of custodes losing bad to space marines)

I think the space wolves only beat the Grey Knights because Logan Grimnar is a sleigh riding borderline Mary Sue, and maybe because the Wolves are strong against hostile psykers. In most other matchups I think the Grey Knights could be extremely powerful since they are essentially a full chapter of Librarians and on top of that most of them wear terminator armor. Just remember how strong the Thousand Sons were in the Great Crusade era. Shield spells, damage spells, seeing the future etc. I don't see how you could match them except by overwhelming numbers
The wolves won the way they did because the writing itself was... Off to say the least, the way the gk were going about their battles were straight up bs, they basically fought like they werent really psykers, let alone very capable/powerful ones and trying to beat space wolves in a physical fights is just dumb, especially if you're a space marine, ESPECIALLY if you're a powerful psyker who doesn't even need to lmao
Agreed. And people always forget, it was only a portion if the Grey Knights' strength against ALL of the Space Wolves. Plus the Knights had just finished banishing Angron and lost nearly 100 warriors to do it. The fact is, they nearly annihilated the Wolves with a fraction of their chapter and while not really wanting to fight except being honor bound to that shit inquisitor, but the Wolves got lucky with several surprise attacks and the intercession of Bjorn, a living legend.
The argument made in alot of the videos I see are while the Grey Knights are powerful, theyre built to defeat demons. While the Space Wolves, theyre built to kill other space marines ie. Legions 2 and/or 11
Cannon has changed so much for the Custodes since the 90’s. Back then they were described as actually a little smaller physically than Astartes but slightly more powerful. Power creep has benefited them immensely.

I've got a question. How well would a Culexus Assassin do against a Grey Knight? Grey Knights are some of the strongest psykers in the imperium. But doesn't that mean that they are even more susceptible to the blank gene that all Culexus assassin have?
I found this on the subject: "Some Imperial scholars have suggested that, for the Space Marines, this is due to the psychically-infused nature of the Astartes gene-seed, which could render it lethal if implanted in a subject carrying the Pariah Gene. It is, however, possible for a Space Marine to be transformed into a Pariah after implantation, as is the case with the Ferrymen who serve the Grey Knights."

All of the Gray Knights have psychic abilities but not all of them are extremely powerful. And there are very few Gray Knights that would be able to match the abilities of Librarian Tigurius for example. They are recruited based on their unbreakable willpower over that of their raw psychic potential.

Is it confirmed that the Grey Knights gene seed was derived from the Emperor? My head cannon is that their gene seed was secretly derived from Magnus, and the reason for their extreme recruitment methods is to ensure they don't fall to chaos
I think that only First Grand Master Janus was connected to Magnus. That having been said, it doesn’t necessarily make sense for the Emperor to have gene-seed, as that was a design feature of Primarchs (and to a lesser extent their space marines), not to mention the over-the-top secrecy of the order.
@@LOVEMUFFIN_official how doesn't it make sense for Big E to have gene seed? Custodes are made from his jizz just like the Grey Squires...I mean Knights.
I think the way it is explained is the emperor attempted to recreate a gene-seed from his own biology, but it's less effective than the one the primarchs posses He wasn't created with one, but he crafted one from himself
I just read arjac rockfist novella and throw away line he puts his weight into the genevault door which only dreadnaught have moved until he moved it, without terminator armor, and then he shattered the axe morkai...this is just a wow feat of strength from regular marine no super cool armor

The scene Majorkill is talking about cutting down a Grand Master is in the novel "The Emperor's Gift" and follows the first war of Armageddon and the Months of Shame that followed. In the scene, Logan and his Wolf Guard demand to know why civilians in hive cities across the continent from the warzone had to be sterilized if they never knew the war had even taken place. The Grand Master (forget his name at the moment) had promised only military personnel on the actual battlefield and who witnessed demons or his brotherhood would be terminated by necessity (something Logan hated but could understand) The Grand Master had then went on to arrange a complete sterilization of the civilian population anyway and had also organized the complete eradication of every military agent in the Armageddon system as a matter of course. Logan cut him down so swiftly that Hyperion explains he didn't even see him lift the axe to strike. One moment he stood snarling in anger and the next his boss was dead with Logan standing over him. In an effort to prevent the wolves leaving, the Grey Knights effectively blocked their teleport beacons from working by establishing a kind of blanket effect. Knowing his allies as well as his enemies, Logan called out for his Wolf Guard, who systematically and simultaneously shot every Justicar in the room dead, this unravelling their psychic net and allowing them to escape.
Would love to see a Majorkill mini version of Kaldor Draigo! The GW version really doesn’t do him justice for how powerful and epic he is in the lore, fingers crossed this is in the works! ⚔️

Custodies gene-seed was crafted by the emperor to be the best anyone could design but the Grey Knights gene-seed is made using the emperors gene-seed. Custodies know that the emperor made the grey knights to give his imperium a final defense against the terrors of the warp. They would fight if it was some real shit but their numbers and dedication to assignments would make it stupidly rare. More likely a custodies is protecting grey knights than ever fighting one. Logan Grimnar had his kingsguard with him. They were not your average space wolves that were able to kill Grey Knights. My understanding of their physicality is that space marines, like any large selection of people, can vary from 7 feet to 7.5 ft with a few extra tall in there. Custodies are supposed to be 9 feet tall unmovable statues. Grey knights are between the two at 8 to 8.5. There were rough approximations of this somewhere in their lore but not sure where. It’ll take two decades before the minis ever get updated. I have read about grey knights and primaris marines supposedly already being close in size but it’s unlikely this gets an official answer. I also think there are limits to the gear selections and are evenly matched there. They are pulling from the similar vaults of goodies. Little chance there is any drastic difference. Maybe some lean towards purpose but all relative.

Something I learned, being an AdMech fan, Malcador didn’t just put Titan in the pocket dimension, he also moved another moon alongside it to be the Grey Knights very own forge world, manned by Grey Knight TechMarines. To make the conflict with Grimnar even worse for the Grey Knights is the GK ships are warded against Chaos. So the Axe Of Morkai was severely weakened and was mostly just Grimnars strength that split the Grand Master.

First video of the year and it's about my favourite Space Marine chapter! Life is good sometimes
Just started in the hobby with a Grey Knight army, would love to see the majorkill take on them!
Then Dorn shows up sword and shield in hand and says
"Sigismunds courage often outweighs his abilities, Mine does not"
The best moment in the siege of terra series so far imo. Especially with Johnathan Keeble voicing the audiobook.
I always thought the GKs should have been the absolute best of the best. The whole "emperor's Geneseed" should count for something
This is something that i feel will be retconned.
They initially were cause at one point custodes were essentially just as strong as space marines. They then retconned custodes to what they are now (which is why there's old lore of custodes losing bad to space marines)
Day twenty seven of asking majorkill to compare Abaddon and Archaeon
They're like the same person lol
Interesting
They are basically the same person in 2 different timelines
While I don’t know much about fantasy i do know people actually like Archaeons character, I don’t know a single person that actually likes any version of abaddon

Legions 2 and/or 11
I understood that Logan had his kingsguard with him when they boarded and killed grey knights. Not your average space wolves at all.
Wolves had 1.75k Marines yet they only killed 100 Grey Knights
Cannon has changed so much for the Custodes since the 90’s. Back then they were described as actually a little smaller physically than Astartes but slightly more powerful. Power creep has benefited them immensely.
Can we get a video about all the first captains during the Horus Heresy? Would love to know more about some of their lore.

Dude, you release the perfect videos the day after I ponder something 40k related. You are killing it!
I've got a question.
How well would a Culexus Assassin do against a Grey Knight?
Grey Knights are some of the strongest psykers in the imperium. But doesn't that mean that they are even more susceptible to the blank gene that all Culexus assassin have?
I found this on the subject:
"Some Imperial scholars have suggested that, for the Space Marines, this is due to the psychically-infused nature of the Astartes gene-seed, which could render it lethal if implanted in a subject carrying the Pariah Gene.
It is, however, possible for a Space Marine to be transformed into a Pariah after implantation, as is the case with the Ferrymen who serve the Grey Knights."
For this year we all need more Videos about the Orks!

Major Kill Greynights would be legendary
All of the Gray Knights have psychic abilities but not all of them are extremely powerful. And there are very few Gray Knights that would be able to match the abilities of Librarian Tigurius for example. They are recruited based on their unbreakable willpower over that of their raw psychic potential.
Not being extremely powerful in grey knight standards is still pretty powerful

Dude, we just got your calendar yesterday. Better quality and art then any we can get at the store! Keep being the best you, never change (except your undies)!
Is it confirmed that the Grey Knights gene seed was derived from the Emperor? My head cannon is that their gene seed was secretly derived from Magnus, and the reason for their extreme recruitment methods is to ensure they don't fall to chaos
yes its confirmed their gene seed is from the emperor, the first grand master was the guy with one shard of magnus soul.
@@LOVEMUFFIN_official hmmmm something to ponder about. I'll have to do some research on that.
I think the way it is explained is the emperor attempted to recreate a gene-seed from his own biology, but it's less effective than the one the primarchs posses
He wasn't created with one, but he crafted one from himself
I just read arjac rockfist novella and throw away line he puts his weight into the genevault door which only dreadnaught have moved until he moved it, without terminator armor, and then he shattered the axe morkai...this is just a wow feat of strength from regular marine no super cool armor

You have to also take into account 'will power' denying the witch is a real thing in the lore, if you have more will power than a psyker you can literally overcome their psychic powers, like when Ragnar grabbed the throat of the female inquisitor after she tried to hold him in place with her psychic powers.
Yeah well good luck overcoming a lightning bolt or a bunch of metal getting thrown at your face lmao, it all depends on the psyker

Regardless, I am a huge fan of your channel. You are killing it right now. Keep up the good work my guy!
Phew, almost had to eat without something to watch - and then Majorkill came in a clutch and saved my meal
Finally, I was just talking about this in the discord
Wanted so say thank u for all your videos man. 40k is my wife’s and I favorite hobby because of your vid’s
