I love that the NPCs in Crystal are there. They clearly wanted to make sure that you experienced the GS Ball event in a very particular way - approaching the shrine from the south, as it lingers on the top of your screen. I'm a fan tbh
I agree, but I do find it odd that those restrictions are in place. I think it does make the encounter a little more epic to approach from the bottom than from the side. I'd think most people would naturally approach from that side, anyway, but I guess maybe if a player doesn't have Cut on a Pokémon, they'd be more inclined to take the long way around than teach the move to someone?
@@yukihoshikawa It can be quicker because you can surf across that pond, at least it feels that way to me, maybe I'm wrong lol, at that point in the game you'd have surf, so going from Golden Rod could make sense, and maybe you have your surf slave on you vs your cut, or a fully HM slave like furret (granted that can also learn surf, but... late game are there many opportunities to use cut? So you might've made Furret forget cut for something like surf, while in battles cut also kind of sucks unlike surf that's a solid water move with plenty of pp).
I think it’s also so kids would have an easier time figuring out what they’re supposed to do. Cut the area so small that there’s really only one place you’re supposed to go. Instead of scouring the entire forest (admittedly not very large) checking random shaking trees or something. They made it pretty obvious where you need to go
The NPCs for the Celebi shrine is because if you enter from the North Entrance you would see the Celebi sprite waiting for you for the animation. You see, Celebi comes from the north but once you enter the Helix Forest with an activated GS Ball, the game pre-loads Celebi in the area and stores it near the North entrance so that it feels like its coming from above the player. The NPCs are there to prevent you from seeing the sprite randomly because they did not have any other place to hide it. Recall the Helix forest event was for Crystal Only and they added the event after designing the forest
My most valuable and unique Pokémon: a legit Gen 3 English Celebi. I got it from the 10th Anniversary Event. My mom actually drove me to another city to attend an official Pokémon convention/event at a mall. People got to vote for which Pokémon would be given out, and Celebi won the top spot so all attendees got it. It's one of my most important Pokémon. I remember being on Pokémon forums and no one else would have one, made me feel so special~
That’s an incredible relic! My Pokemon event journey sadly started in Gen 4, and I have modt of the events from that gen still intact, and multiples of them due to having multiple games. But gen 3 always remained a mystery due to my country never having the events… exept one painful memory where I actually missed a 10th anniversary event by 5 minutes..😆 but it was the European one, I think it was the same pokemon but missing the Celebi you are talking about. The rarest things there were Lugua and Ho-oh which I never had access to either. Only last year, I managed to get my hands on the Gen3 event data cartridge which contains many of the event codes, and for the first time ever, I was able to distribute the Aurora Ticket and other event items, as well as some other events like that EU 10th anniversary pokemon, to my 3rd gen games via Mystery Gift. It’s incredible to experience that the same way it happened 20 years ago. I’ve since distributed them to some of my olf friends who still had their games, since they were also only drooling for those events back then. Celebi is the only Pokemon I still don’t have access in those games, honetsly considering getting the Japanese bonus disc and japanese colosseum just to be able to get a legit Celebi but man, that’s tough requirements lol
I have a distinct memory of seeing a TV commercial for a Celebi event happening in a nearby city back in the gen 3 days, and I remember asking my mom if I could go, but I couldn't 😔 I'm glad you were able to, though; gen 3 Celebi is definitely a neat thing to have gotten!
Stuck between leaving my "special memory Pokemon" in their original games where the memories were formed vs. sending them into Home so they can stick around "forever"...lol
I've been passing over my Crobat since Leafgreen about.. 10 years ago or so, its shiny, was my first random shiny encounter and I've made it part of my team since then!
The fact that the developers didn’t consider special Pokémon with special moves relearning them in the latest games/storage service shows they gave up on the idea of bringing those special friends with you through every game.
I agree, and it's very sad... I'll always love my Toys R Us Arceus with Spacial Rend, Roar of Time, and Shadow Force. ... wait, what the hell?! The Arceus in Legends uses those moves against you in the overworld! And it won't learn them from the tutor???
When you don't choose a game in home and just select home, you can change where the Pokemon comes from, so you just choose an older option and it should be everything there
With Pokemon Home, Pokemon have separate movesets for every Switch game (barring Let's Go and SwSh sharing one). Movesets from Bank and Let's Go are also applied to the SwSh moveset. This means any exclusive moves from older generations are only usable in SwSh. Your Kanto Birds and Lugia will still know them in their SwSh moveset, but since they can't learn those moves in BDSP or SV, they will not be able to relearn them in those games or any other future games unless they are given the moves again.
@Regiultima Not completely true. While SWSH doesn’t completely rework movesets like SCVI, they did already delete moves from existence like hidden power, Pursuit and most reöevant to this topic, Psycho Boost; since Deoxys was not in the game due to dexit, the was ”no need” for Psycho Boost to be in the game. So yes, you can transfer Psycho Boost Lugia to SWSH without worrying the move gets deleted, but you cannot use that move in gameplay, the move is greyed out and the game suggests you to delete the move yourself.
I hope the homebrew scene will be able to do something about it, so we'd at least be able to maintain the connectivity between gen 1-7. I've grown weary of the modern generations and the amount of bs thrown at us.
Worst case scenario, you can use PkHex to move Pokemon from an old save file to a newer one. That'd require your save files to get moved to a PC, and then back to the Switch, but... it's something.
Homebrew already lets you get around Pokemon Bank and Home. Checkpoint exports and imports save data to/from your SD card for DS, 3DS (including VC), and Switch games, and PKHex has support for those saves and the Pokemon, which lets you move your Pokemon around freely.
Connectivity between gen 1-7 already exists, even without pkhex. The only thing needed is a modded 3ds and PKSM. :) And if you have checkpoint for switch, you can even use your sw/sh or lets go save data with it.
@yukihoshikawa Unfortunately because of the way that pokemon home determines legality, you really can't transfer pokemon up without pokemon bank. When a pokemon first gets sent to home it receives a home tracker that it will need to be considered a legal pokemon. If it has information such as a catch location that can be located in the game that you are trying to upload it from it will be labeled illegal and can't be transfered to home. The only way for pokemon which were caught in gen1-7 to obtain home trackers is to send them through bank. Yes you can still use your pokemon locally if you send them through pkhex, but they will be barred from online play. Without pokemon bank, you will need to do extensive editing to legalize the met location, moves, ribbons, memories, etc. So that Home will think that they came from a newer game and assign a Home tracker. At that point it's barely the same pokemon anymore in my opinion so this method is essentialy useless.
I find that My Pokemon Ranch's Phione is quite special actually, for two things: -Cherish Ball -Hayley's ID which is 01000 I played MPR on the japanese version to use my japanese Platinum and got all the trades to transfer them to home, the mew is quite special too, Hayley's name in japanese is Yukari, as a random fact
That ending was amazing. I didn't grow up with a 3ds. But I have started playing the pre-gen 7 games before bank shuts down, just so I don't regret not playing them. And I've loved being able to bond with all these amazing Pokémon in the game they were introduced in. I've got boxes in Pokémon home reserved for these Pokémon when I finish my playthroughs and I can't wait to have them all completed
1:00 not quite. The ribbon challenge specifys that you only need to get all the currnetly obtainable ribbons for a mon to be a ribbon master. All the bank shutdown would do is change said requirements.
I'm hoping to make my first shiny on 3DS (and my second ever shiny) a shiny Kartana into a ribbon master and transfer it up to sw/sh once I get all available ribbons for it in us/um.
@@yukihoshikawa To be fair, it still is a predicament for some people. Like those who want a specific pokemon from a past gen (you gave plenty of examples in your video ) to be a ribbon master down the line, or even others in my situation where we are currently in the process of making our pokemon on DS/2DS/3DS into ribbon masters. Once Bank goes down we no longer have any ways of transferring our Pokemon up to the Switch to complete the challenge, outside of any, as you put, shenanigans. While the ribbon challenge would keep going the rules would definitely have to be updated to address the removal of Bank.
Weird to think the last and only time Deoxys and Mew could be shiny hunted in a game was 20 years/6 gens ago. I'm about to work on catching up on some wormhole legend hunts in Ultra Sun but I may have to look into these two as well EDIT: Oh right, there is technically a way to get a shiny mew via VC RBY iirc but someone else might need to fact check that
The VC Mew was distributed with 15 in every DV, meaning it can never be shiny, unless you use an ACE setup or save editor to change them to a shiny spread.
As someone that has since grown disillusioned with Pokemon since Sw/Sh, I find myself not caring too much about not being able to transfer up all my mons. Part of me feels like there’s something wrong with me, like I’m a freak for thinking that. I just wanna like Pokémon again, but the last most I’ve been excited for this series in in the past 7 years was Mystery Dungeon DX and Ash leaving the anime. Oh, and Legends. Loved Arceus and very excited for Z-A.
@@yukihoshikawa I'm mostly asking myself if I wanna even bother transferring over my Pokemon, if its even worth it. I need to bring them over yeah, but I haven't owned a new game outside of BDSP and don't feel the desire to since Pokemon's very happy to screw the players over with rushed games or services with giant asterisks on them that ruin the enjoyment
My first pokemon game was Red. I had a Charizard that I grinded to 100, and was able to bring with me to each new game... but when I put it on my switch, I was robbed and lost all that pokemon data... no way to restore the save or anything, and Nintendo refused to give me the IP address from where whoever stole it to me or the police. RiP Raze, my very first pokemon bond
I know how you feel. My old Silver file died before I could recover the gamesave from it and having multiple siblings some of my old runs were deleted. Gone, but not forgotten.
he's likely talking about "the" ribbon challenge. the biggest one, to get the most ribbons on any given pokemon which requires purifying a shadow pokemon
@@ObeliskDemon Yeah, probably. And it IS an arduous challenge, as I undertook it with my Raichu (originaly Pikachu caught in Sapphire in Safari zone), who now has all the ribbons and marks except the Colosseum/XD one, since I don´t own those games.
When you don't choose a game in home and just select home, you can change where the Pokemon comes from, so you just choose an older option and every move should be there
0:57 - Small tid bit you missed, the Pokemon Colosseum/XD:GoD Ribbons can also be equipped like any other Ribbon in the Gen 8 or later games. Giving those Pokemon Exclusive Titles when sent into battle, for Purified Shadow Pokemon it's "Go --- The Triumphant!" and for Mount Battle Conquerers it's "Go --- The 100x Victorious!" both are imo some of the coolest titles they've made to this day even outside of the fact you can only get them in the farthest back to transfer games possible as while only possible to have on Gen 3 and below Pokemon (even less for the Shadow Pokemon of course). Edit 11:20 - My poor Level 100 Infernape is still sealed within My Pokemon Ranch after having reset the OT Save File several times now, with Pokemon only being allowes to leave Ranch via it's original owner... I did look it up once and iirc there is a way to reveal the trainer ID and Name within the game so with Homebrew on the Ranch side or PkHex on the DS side it should be possible to fake the credentials to allow the game to let me take it out and trade up to the newer games.
Good catch, I don't know how I forgot about that! 😂 I can relate with your Infernape; I somehow lost a Manaphy that way, and I don't know how kid me managed to pull that off.
@1:01 Not necessarily. The spirit of the challenge is to get all possible ribbons that the chosen Pokemon can obtain. Each Pokemon can be a ribbon master, it’s just their origin point that determines which ribbons qualify them as one. :)
I think I forgot to save when I first played a Pokémon game. Not that the Squirtle would've gotten to Home anyway! To think, so many mythical Pokémon will become more difficult to access. Just when they were getting easier to access too. Ah well, when there's a will, there's a way!
Some personal unique pokemon i plan to use: A shadow meowth i caught in xd who i plan to make into a ribbon master, i named her ceaszar Bolt, a pikachu whom ive transfered up from my pokemon yellow and plan to use on the storyline team of every title i can transfer him to, im also trying to make him mostly anime accerate to ashs pikachu .venusaur that i transfered up from yellow, i plan to get him every stat, ribbon etc that in pokemon lore and in pokemon cannon can be used to prove venusaur to be the most well liked pokemon and tbe pokemon with the highest social status Cosplay pikachu, i know a method of changing her form into a regular pikachu and thus qllowing transfer, i want to use her as a mini game master I have a shedinja caught in a great ball The magikarp from the salesman in fire red, i use him as a pet qnd dont battle him. Don't forget about the Gen 4 and 5 event Pokemon that you can get by making a hotspot and tampering with your DS settings. Between Gen 4 and 5, this includes shiny Milotic, Eevee, Entei, Raikou, Suicune, Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina. Plus a few more, I think, but I can't recall which ones.
That's true, but I'm gonna be honest - I tried to get that stuff working for the Ranger event missions, and I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. It sounds like the DNS changes once in a while, but I couldn't find where the DNS gets posted other than some random person on Reddit, which... I'd prefer a more official source for that kind of info, you know? I don't know if getting the Ranger missions and those event Pokemon use a different thing, but with the headache I got trying to get the Ranger missions working, I think I'd rather just get the individual Pokemon files and use PkHex to put them in, honestly.
For whatever reason my last comment didn't post. The numbers for the Primary DNS server are 178.062.043.212 The secondary DNS should be set to 0s Do not see the IP address to anything, keep it at Auto Use an open network like a mobile hotspot at 2.4khz to make the process to faster ! I hope this helps! It works as of August 15th 2024. Tested it on White 2, soul silver and Platinum! Good luck!!! ✨🌻
Something kinda neat is you can technically have a shadow hisuian typhlosion if you transfer the quilava from Colosseum forward after purifying it. Helluva neat origin for such a modern form, same with ursaluna technically.
That's true - I mostly just meant in comparison to the Mew. The Cherish Ball definitely is a point in Phione's favor, though, that I did forget about when writing the script.
I actually still have my tornadus/landorus/thundurus from Dream Radar and they're level 10! I had thought I got them before getting any badges, but I guess I got them after the first badge lol. They're something I'm super proud of because not many people know about dream radar nowadays!
11:15 And imagine having lost your 3ds with all the cartridges, meaning you lost basically every Pokèmon you had since you were a child... yeah, imagine...
I wish I could’ve saved my first Pokémon, Samson the Charizard (who turned out to be a girl). But I lost her in Silver after my battery died. Plus, the whole “not being able to transfer” thing.
Man, the end got me in the feels. My first Pokemon was my beloved Sceptile. He was transferred up to Gen 4 and at some point throughout the years the save file was reset. RIP my friend.
I'm currently working on Ribbon Mastering a Magmar from XD, as well as the Mt Battle Chikorita with Frenzy Plant, and a Colosseum bonus disc Jirachi. Hoping I can finish before the eventual Bank shutdown. I'm expecting it'll probably be up for another year or so
Once we lose Bank, this means Gens 5 and 6 will lose their interactivity, and the Gens will be split off from 1-2, 3-5, 6-7, and 8+ It will effectively be another stonewall like Gens 2-3 were, only on a much bigger scale. For as much as the Pokédex becoming too big was an obvious problem, I don’t know if many people were thinking about this. Now all my Pokémon will be stuck in Gen 5 just because there’s no internet support for the feature. But hey, at least Black 2 & White 2 will keep them busy forever and ever ❤
Very eloquently put. I like that point about Black 2 and White 2 - with the sheer amount of stuff that's packed in those games, it's far from the worst game for Pokemon to be stuck in.
While it definitely is an issue, the longer the series goes on the more niche needing to transfer from so far back becomes. I don't agree with it, but seeing how the series is going it almost feels like what GF has done with the bank/home situation is a courtesy to the old fans more than anything. Not many people are hardcore enough or even own all of the equipment to send their mons GBA and up. Gen 5 is a great resting place though. So much fun to have in there.
Correction to the gens pokemon will be stuck in, 1-2, 3-5, and then 6, 7, and 8+. 6 and 7 need Bank/Poketransporter to transport pokemon from gen 5 up or anything from gen 6 to 7. This is most impactful in generation 7 where the national dex will no longer be able to be completed. XY /ORAS brought every single pokemon into the generation one way or another, but gen 7 relies on bank to get the full list
Pokemon bank doesnt even need to be cloud storage. They could easily change it to local and the rest (transfer to home) is done entirely through the wireless capabilities of both the 3DS and the switch.
Still have my very first pokemon from 2004, a charizard that got forgotton about for over a decade that was sitting in my box on fire red until last week at level 93. Also my very first shiny pokemon, a diglett which i was mind boggled about when i discovered because i was a child who didnt know shinies even existed. Just got them into home and gotta say im glad that i still have those all these years later
3:24 not being able to move Pokémon into the newer games and keep the exclusive moves not just for Lugia and the XD Pokémon, but for all event mons with exclusive moves like the movie 10 Darkrai with Roar of Time and Spacial Rend, is a fucking felony. I hate that all my event mons with exclusive moves are stuck in Home.
Did they announce that they are shutting down pokemon Bank? If so, then everyone got scammed when they announced the eshop going down and people were panick buying games and bank on their 3ds 😅
You are, literally, the only other person who mentioned the Dream Radar legends being obtainable at level 5! Thank you for this!! Im keeping all of my stuff on my gen 7 games and retiring. The rest of pokemon goes to my sister. One journey ends and all that.
I should note the bonus disc data of US colosseum seems to have most of the Japanese exclusive bonus disc data in it. Meaning, with a game enhancer, it might be possible to get a Celebi and Pikachu with just a copy of the english version. the European version has more issues with the UI though.
I still cherish my Emboar from when I started Pokemon in White 1. Anyone know that Kingdom Hearts 2 cutscene where Sora is balling it out from finally finding Riku again? I had that happen to me when the Indigo Disk launched. Almost 4 years since Emboar could even be in a game... And he was with me again. I actually waited for the Pokemon HOME patch that was coming out 12+ hours after the Indigo Disk dropped so I could begin my journey through Blueberry Academy with the Pokemon that helped me start it all Emboar Male level 100 Brave Nature Moves: Flame Charge Blast Burn Stone Edge Grass Knot/Trail Blaze I'm glad you aren't forced to be in HOME anymore buddy
HOME stores the movesets for each Pokémon separately for each set of games. SwSh retains the moves the Pokémon had in Bank, but every other game has its own separate profile. If you move them to SwSh, they should still have the moves they had in Bank (i.e. the special moves from Colosseum/XD). The HOME relearner only lets you teach it moves that it can learn in the game that you're moving it to. You can only teach level-up moves or moves it knows in other games, but the Pokémon _also_ has to be able to learn the move in the game it's being moved to in order to be able to teach it. So since Lugia cannot learn Psycho Boost in SV, you will never be able to have Lugia with Psycho Boost in SV. Moving to SV doesn't affect the SwSh profile though. By default, HOME displays the profile for the game the Pokémon last travelled to, so if you're bothered by a Pokémon not showing their special moves in HOME anymore, just send it to SwSh and back again, and the default HOME profile should return to the same moves it had in Bank.
No worries, I appreciate the clarification nonetheless! If anything, hearing this stuff multiple times gives that info a chance to actually remember it, haha.
Yes, homebrew and the like allow you to bring over stuff regardless of generation, but I did say in the video that it'd be impossible to bring Pokemon from Bank to Home in a "legitimate" way. That doesn't include stuff like using Checkpoint and PkHex.
It's surprisingly inaccessible to mod your New3DS tho. You need a type of screw driver you most likely do not have lying around to get the Micro SD because they for some reason decided to make the slot be internal rather than external like on an old 3DS. If we ever get to the point of reproduction 3DS models being made, I'd hope fans do not carry that design choice over.
That is true - I did forget about the Cherish Ball (although, all I meant was that the Mew had more things going for it than Phione, not that Phione has nothing special about it)
My most valued and treasured Pokémons are my Shiny Charizard (legit hatched him back in Emerald) my competitive Charizard from Pokémon X and my purified Lugia from XD Gale of darkness. I have a lot of Ribbons with all of them, they've always stayed with me in all of my adventures doing the league or the new mechanics in each game. For some reason, just having them there makes me nostalgic about better times in my life.
Just fyi in either sm or usum you can still use the ds camera to scan a qr code to get magearna after beating the pokemon league. its still active after the servers went down so its annother mythical that you need for the pokemon home pokeball color magearna!
I have a feeling once Pokémon Legends ZA and Generation 10 games are out, that’s when they will pull the plug on Pokemon bank. All Pokemon will be available on the Switch as of ZA. If the leaks about the Switch’s successor are to be believed, it will be backwards compatible and we will be using the same Nintendo ID system.
The fact that they chose to make Bank free after the eShop shutdown and Bank accessible after the 3DS Online shutdown shows that they care about retaining access to Bank. They are likely going to give us at least a six months notice before the shutdown. I'm hoping for at least a year myself. Also, if you are taking the remaining days seriously (where it shows a question mark before two numbers), we at least have 1000 days before shutdown. What is likely happening is that number likely resets and they will keep Bank active for as long as possible. As for the video, I like how you mentioned some unique, low level Pokemon and Pokemon with unique moves. Unfortunately, if they enter Gen 9, their moveset is overwritten, but thankfully that's only when they are in a Gen 9 game. If they return to Home, I believe they should get their original moveset, but I could be wrong. Nonetheless, this shows that Game Freak/TPC isn't really interested in maintaining those unique moves inside the newer games, though they have to for Home.
I think the remaining day counter in Bank was originally set to 65535, which is probably the highest number that can be assigned to that value. Whether that means they intend to keep Bank open as long as they possibly can, or they intend to shut it down, but don't know when, is unknown. As for that last bit, I transferred a Lugia from XD into gen 9, then back to home, and I couldn't have it relearn Psycho Boost - I show this off in the video towards the end of the Colosseum/XD bit.
Pokemon Ranch, Hayley's Phione is actually pretty special because it's the ONLY way for a Phione to be in a Cherish Ball instead of a regular pokeball.
Although I knew about all of these pokemon already (and am working on collecting them) I love your point about the pokemon WE have personal experiences with. ❤️
Maybe a ribbon master would be a fun challenge/walk through most of the games? I want to start one from colosseum but who knows how much time we have haha
Im so glad i prepared my 3ds for the big shut down. The problem is so little time to hunt 😢 It should be noted that greninja loses battle bond if you transfer to home
Interesting that you pointed out Patrat but not Furfrou although I'm not sure if you did that on account of Legends Z-A coming out next year. Since its obtainable in both SwSh and SV, its one of the few Pokemon requested for legendaries like the DLC-exclusive Paradox mons on the GTS.
I went on a journey to do this because it was a whole thing. I have my old Sapphire game which hadn't been touched in years. Same with my old copy of Red and Yellow and Silver. I went out of my way to obtain a Gameboy Operator to rip the saves files off of them to hopefully convert them into VC gamesaves using "shenanigans." Red was successful and I was able to keep some of my sibling's old Red save Pokemon (mine were deleted years ago at this point). Yellow was corrupted and I attempted to recreate them by hand in a certain program which was mostly successful. Silver was outright dead, battery died years ago and with it my completed save file went with it. But lastly was Sapphire, a game I love but do certainly look back on with rose tinted glasses. My gamesave on that one had been overwritten by my baby brother years ago and I was not aware of it until I retrieved the save. I decided to put myself through the torture of recompleting someone else's save file with some help from "shenanigans" (some of the move sets my baby brother did were just bad and stalled the run so many times). But I moved it all into Bank ready to be moved into Home, same with the Red and Yellow ones. I hope to be able to turn and burn FireRed/LeafGreen (haven't decided which of the two to do), SoulSilver, White, and one fo the BW sequels as I already have gen 6 and half of gen 7 done (Ultra games I'm not looking forward to completing, honestly).
Any starter Pokemon can learn the move, it's just that only the final stage evolutions can learn their respective move. So for the first stage forms to have access to them is pretty neat!
It may not be as unique as some of the others, but let’s not forget about the guaranteed Shiny Haxorous in Gen5 that you can catch after completing the pokedex. I forget if it comes from B/W 1 or 2, but it’s still really cool.
The Japanese Steelix from the demo would require a trade to a NA 3ds, unless your nintendo account is a JP account, as you cant login to an NA account on a JP 3ds.
Tornadus was my main Flying type in Black 2 thanks to Dream Radar, and he gave me an odd love for low-level Legendaries as well as getting to actually use Legendaries in game. This also reminds me I need to get rest of my mons out of Bank at some point. I have modded the Switch and 3DS to transfer, so I just need to clear Bank. I even have my Faraway Island Mew who's joined me every game backed up in my PC cloud storage for safe keeping.
Nothing official yet. We'll likely get a warning a fair bit ahead of time, but in my opinion, it's best to get this stuff out of the way as soon as possible if you're interested - give yourself as much time as possible, you know?
I don’t really have any that I need but last year I did get a legit gen 3 feebas and evolved it in the same game it took me about 2 hrs to find its spot but once I did it was one lol.
I plan to up my game to building a live dex in Home, is something I have been wanting to do for a while, specially getting some of my old event pokemons
I remember walking past the shrine again and again pressing A on it hoping that my game would trigger a glitch so I could finally catch the Celebi and then I finally got it on the VGC on my 3DS and it was shiny too!!!! 😭😭😭 I cherish my pink little onion fairy 🧚♀️
Im doing a full replay right now, including the side games with transfers. I even wear my pokewalker at work every day. Im transfering up everything from my childhood copies and realized its a capsule of my life. I have my first pokemon, most of my teams, hell ive got pokmeon traded to me like 19 years ago by a childhood friend I haven't seen since i was little, exs, friends. Memories.
I myself with the uniqueness of my first starter have always found great regret in transferring upwards. He has never seen Alola onwards and one day when the transfers fully shut down, I will certainly have a decision to make.
I still have my very first groudon that i have caried from my first omega ruby game to now scarlet Tho my first starter will always remain with his game
Ngl, the last unique Pokemon made me tear up 🥹 I have my first starter pokemon, Turtwig (now Torterra), tucked safely into pokemon home. Pearl was my first complete play through of a Pokémon game as a kid. So many memories. 🥹
@@yukihoshikawa
It can be quicker because you can surf across that pond, at least it feels that way to me, maybe I'm wrong lol, at that point in the game you'd have surf, so going from Golden Rod could make sense, and maybe you have your surf slave on you vs your cut, or a fully HM slave like furret (granted that can also learn surf, but... late game are there many opportunities to use cut?
RIP Spiky Eared Pichu. U could not leave HGSS or even the save, but u were the og pokemon stuck in a game in my mind.
One day it’ll have friends stuck with him
As soon as I saw this video, I expected to see Spike Ear Pichu, but you can't transfer it :(
Mine is the funny looking pikachus in the gen 3 remakes they are stuck there lol
I participated in that tournament when I was Eleven. I still have that Celebi.
You are a god among men

Stuck between leaving my "special memory Pokemon" in their original games where the memories were formed vs. sending them into Home so they can stick around "forever"...lol
Clone them, best of both worlds.
Not really. Your third option is using your brain but I guess that is hard. Just clone them with literally one of the 500 methods you can do that.

Yeah, that's a bit of a silly one.

When you don't choose a game in home and just select home, you can change where the Pokemon comes from, so you just choose an older option and it should be everything there
Please understand...
Oh, weird; thanks for the clarification!
@Regiultima
Not completely true.
This is the type of ‘unique Pokemon’ I love learning about. Obscure Level 3 Electrode from Gen 1 VC? Hell yes sign me up
Connectivity between gen 1-7 already exists, even without pkhex.
I find that My Pokemon Ranch's Phione is quite special actually, for two things:
-Cherish Ball
-Hayley's ID which is 01000
I played MPR on the japanese version to use my japanese Platinum and got all the trades to transfer them to home, the mew is quite special too, Hayley's name in japanese is Yukari, as a random fact
Yeah, I did forget about the Cherish Ball bit, but I was also just talking about in general compared to her Mew.
That's great to hear! 💜
1:00 not quite. The ribbon challenge specifys that you only need to get all the currnetly obtainable ribbons for a mon to be a ribbon master. All the bank shutdown would do is change said requirements.
This ^
I'm hoping to make my first shiny on 3DS (and my second ever shiny) a shiny Kartana into a ribbon master and transfer it up to sw/sh once I get all available ribbons for it in us/um.
Ah, my bad; sorry about that!

I'm about to work on catching up on some wormhole legend hunts in Ultra Sun but I may have to look into these two as well
EDIT: Oh right, there is technically a way to get a shiny mew via VC RBY iirc but someone else might need to fact check that
Good luck if you hunt either of them! No Shiny Charm, 1/8192 odds, but they're definitely neat shinies to have!
The VC Mew was distributed with 15 in every DV, meaning it can never be shiny, unless you use an ACE setup or save editor to change them to a shiny spread.
Deoxys is actually a pretty common thanks to pokemon go
Go Had a Shiny new event too
Nijigasaki spotted!
It's not the biggest deal, in my opinion, but it's a bit depressing and feels somewhat poorly thought out.
I feel similar. I no longer care because gamefreak doesn't seem to care and put in effort either.

This is why homebrew is awesome. Pretendo will allow you to use Bank after shutdown.
@3:00 the jirachi came with a patch for the infinite berry glitch in the gen 3 games, so it was kinda a bait so you wouldn’t exploit it
My first pokemon game was Red.
Nintendo states they'll give IP addresses to police with police reports made...I guess this was before that policy was implemented?
I know how you feel. My old Silver file died before I could recover the gamesave from it and having multiple siblings some of my old runs were deleted. Gone, but not forgotten.
*The ribbon challenge is still doable for every Pokémon, just gotta get every ribbon from their native generation and up*
he's likely talking about "the" ribbon challenge. the biggest one, to get the most ribbons on any given pokemon which requires purifying a shadow pokemon
@@ObeliskDemon Yeah, probably. And it IS an arduous challenge, as I undertook it with my Raichu (originaly Pikachu caught in Sapphire in Safari zone), who now has all the ribbons and marks except the Colosseum/XD one, since I don´t own those games.

For me, I really want to get some cool Pokewalker pokémon, like the special Pikachu from Yellow Forest.

Yeah, type:null isn't shiny locked in Sun/Moon. I got a shiny one by complete accident lol
I can relate with your Infernape; I somehow lost a Manaphy that way, and I don't know how kid me managed to pull that off.

You can kind of save Pikachu. Trade to Gen 2, Gen 2 up to Bank. A bit cheeky, but it technically works.

That's a nice trio; best of luck!
Once we lose Bank, this means Gens 5 and 6 will lose their interactivity, and the Gens will be split off from 1-2, 3-5, 6-7, and 8+
It will effectively be another stonewall like Gens 2-3 were, only on a much bigger scale.
I like that point about Black 2 and White 2 - with the sheer amount of stuff that's packed in those games, it's far from the worst game for Pokemon to be stuck in.
what would you say if there's a device and a program being developed to punch through the wall between gen 2 & 3?
@@ItsNepany future games with time travel awards like oras and bdsp would be much harder to get because we cannot transfer them from bank

I'm glad you aren't forced to be in HOME anymore buddy
Should have scrolled down first! Looks like someone else already commented this same thing.
No worries, I appreciate the clarification nonetheless! If anything, hearing this stuff multiple times gives that info a chance to actually remember it, haha.
Have you tried putting them back into home save then reload home change moves there
"It's suprisingly easy to mod your 3DS"
Actually the phione from ranch is kinda special bc it’s the only way you can obtain one in a cherish ball !
That is true - I did forget about the Cherish Ball (although, all I meant was that the Mew had more things going for it than Phione, not that Phione has nothing special about it)
You can actually get (shiny) patrat in a masterball in Pokémon Go & transfer it to the main games! :)
Ooooh, that's a good one I forgot about! Thanks for sharing that!
Great video! Also thanks to you I just went and got my Celebi In VC Crystal.
@@yukihoshikawa thing is they should just allow the new switch coming out to use the old nintendo games then do not need bank
Patrat is catchable in X and Y. So you can get it in Master Balls in those games too.
Thanks! I'm thinking I should do one more kind of challenge run before Bank shuts down, just so I have one more memory from the older games.
Maybe a ribbon master would be a fun challenge/walk through most of the games? I want to start one from colosseum but who knows how much time we have haha
Celebi event 8n crystal was probably mandatory at the end to make sure it worked properly. Or just make sure you experience the event properly.
8:26 Better nerf Greninja
Im so glad i prepared my 3ds for the big shut down. The problem is so little time to hunt 😢
It should be noted that greninja loses battle bond if you transfer to home
Oh shoot, what the heck? That's... weird and lame, lol
@@yukihoshikawa Yeah, I've had a grind the demo. Twicelol
Is bank and transporter still up I’m tryna move some gb marked mons and jhoto champion ribbons up to scarlet and violet and make them vgc ready there
I went on a journey to do this because it was a whole thing.
I didn't know the elemental hyper beams could be learned by the Johto Starters in Gen 3. I always thought they were exclusive to the Kanto starters
Any starter Pokemon can learn the move, it's just that only the final stage evolutions can learn their respective move. So for the first stage forms to have access to them is pretty neat!
I had that Mew from Pokemon Ranch. No clue what I did with it, it may be in my Black cartridge which I lost well over a decade ago…
Amazing video! Thank you for the information
You're welcome; I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video!
Bruuuh the ranger games were so much fun to me, love seeing that stuff again
Wow you can actually still encounter Celebi in crystal? That’s actually so cool
It may not be as unique as some of the others, but let’s not forget about the guaranteed Shiny Haxorous in Gen5 that you can catch after completing the pokedex. I forget if it comes from B/W 1 or 2, but it’s still really cool.
Jirachi showed up a lot in the battle colosseum mode on enemy teams in Pokemon Colosseum
:)
I still have my colosseum ho-oh from a million years ago. Man that thing took FOREVER to get 😂.
is there any knowledge of when GF is going to take Bank down either way I've had a very on again off again relationship with pokemon since 2019
Nothing official yet. We'll likely get a warning a fair bit ahead of time, but in my opinion, it's best to get this stuff out of the way as soon as possible if you're interested - give yourself as much time as possible, you know?
Great video, the title reminds me of the jet song "Last Chance" on which the lyrics repeat, "this is your last chance honey" 😊
In the end, if Nintendo is going to cut you off, just call in Mr. Game Shark, and take back what's yours.
How long till it goes down gotta fire up the rds
No mention of the lvl 10 Salamence in gen 7. Sad
Oh yeah, that's a good one! I remember I tried searching for that fella once - I found one Bagon in 3 hours of searching and I accidentally KOed it 🙃
So I see on Pokemon home the Premium Plan is being sold which gives you access to Pokemon Bank. Does this not work?
I don’t really have any that I need but last year I did get a legit gen 3 feebas and evolved it in the same game it took me about 2 hrs to find its spot but once I did it was one lol.
Ooh, nice!
I plan to up my game to building a live dex in Home, is something I have been wanting to do for a while, specially getting some of my old event pokemons
You know I am currently trying to get all the Unique OT Pokemon so this video is a massive help!
Should I keep trying to get a shiny giratina in ultra moon 🌙 or just catch the regular one before bank closes ????
Please may I ask you something? Does the service still work?
Bank is still working, yes - I just transferred some Pokemon not too long ago myself.
@@yukihoshikawaok thank you !
the voice actor who play mew in Pokemon need to come to rhode island comic con this year.
I still have my very first groudon that i have caried from my first omega ruby game to now scarlet
Tho my first starter will always remain with his game
another one is Fennel's Munna since you could only get it before the Pokemon Global Link shutdown back in 2020 not 2010 that was a typo
Ngl, the last unique Pokemon made me tear up 🥹 I have my first starter pokemon, Turtwig (now Torterra), tucked safely into pokemon home. Pearl was my first complete play through of a Pokémon game as a kid. So many memories. 🥹
cool video man, I really enjoyed it.
