Everything in this rendition is amazing:the 12 string guitar sound, the perfect blend of voices, Judith's beauty, her gestures and voice. Heavenly is the word...
What fantastic video that is, great picture, brilliant sound .... Judith Durham rocks, absolutely superb singer!
Judityh is my favorite female singer of all.
You don't hear singers jump an octave so effortlessly anymore . . actually, you hardly don't hear real singers at all anymore.
Sad but true! I was born in 1961 and grew up listening to all 60's music, which in my opinion is the best music! A lot better than the crap they play on the radio now!
How true
Sissel Kyrkjebo is one
Autotune hasn't become that sophisticated yet?
Such a wonderful group and voices. Thank you for posting this.
Her voice is that of an angel. Beautiful and perfect. Were my parents favourite and they have become one of mine. Timeless
She is God's gift to us all! Greatest voice I have ever heard in any style of music.
My Lord, what perfect pitch while singing outdoors.
I always get chills when I hear them sing this song!
Hey Rich ... Every time I hear a new version of this song I wonder to myself: is she going to hit that high note, is she going to hit that high note (02:39)? Needn't worry -- she pulls it off each and every time, whether it's in 1967 at Expo or in 2000 during their Carnival Of Hits Tour. Rich, when it comes to The Seekers, you are a one man Carnival Of Hits Tour!
I saw Judith in concert twice back in 2003 during her "Diamond Tour" and yes she knocked it clean outta the park BOTH TIMES!
Seek out "Danny Boy". Not only does she hit the "I'll be _here_ " note in that, but with no indication of effort at all.
Except that, on this particular occasion, she doesn't.
@@trockfield4593 Eh? 2:39 - she hits it without batting an eyelid. (Literally - I just checked.)
Judith singing and appearance is angelic,
Stunningly beautiful... and many thanks rich963.
Oh my goodness, my fellow Canadians! I expected a bit more enthusiasm from you in ‘67! When they first performed that song coming over to the UK on that ship from Australia the atmosphere was electric. (I watched the video that Rick posted on this channel♥️) I think it was New Years Eve. When Judith hit that high note I just couldn’t believe it.
Beautiful woman and beautiful voice
She has a voice!
In all my days I have never seen this. Simply beautiful ❣️
What Judith does goes beyond other singers are capable to. The feeling that penetrates the soul is deep and lasting and makes you want more.
A joy! Athol looks as though he wants to dance. I enjoyed the little stage biz as Keithvwentvand fetched the tambourine for Judith. And the clarity and quality of Judith's voice....every word. Blessings
I know that is funny where Athol Guy looks like he going to start dancing! And the voice of Judith Durham, oh my god, what a voice! I was born in 1961 and grew up listening to all 60's music, which in my opinion is the best music! A lot better than the crap they play on the radio now!
@@robertowensiii1567 not that we are biased or anything eh? I'm a bit older than you Robert(don't hold that against me!) More the Prince Charles/Princess Anne generation....of maligned baby boomers.....but United in our utter joy and delight in The Seekers
I was going to say "where?". but I see it, right at the end; presumably that's for the next number.
Wow. That is beautiful. She is angelic.
My Lord, what a beautiful voice.
Dear Judith. Your Star will never fall. Hope you are happy and well. We love you. X.
Great performance Rich, you’re a real treasure!
My Lord what a voice
Farewell Judith. God speed. I only discovered Judith was only about 5 feet 2 inches tall. She always look like a giant among us all.
Beautifully sung by Judith and the Seekers! Whenever Judith sang this song, Heaven came down to earth!
We, my wife and I, were there at Montreal in 1967 and went to the evening show.. First had an elderly gentleman throw a boom-a-rang out over our heads. Every one in the audience ducked our heads at the same time.. Followed by Tie me Kangaroo down by Rolf Harris. The 2nd half open with the Gentleman Seeker speaker saying I want to thank all of you for buying our records. then a long pause Tomorrow. Just 1 fabulous evening and we are still life long fans.
Judith needs no jewels, or gold, rings, necklaces... no fancy dresses, no make up...nothing but the splendor of heaven itself.
And to think she made many of the dresses herself.
@@tomdiodati5028 Yep, just about all of them. And to think she was worried about her figure!
I had such a crush on the beautiful Judith Durham when I was a kid in primary school. For me the Seekers really made the 60s.
Me too mate, gawd, if id known she lived in Essendon i wouldve ridden across from Reservoir to leave a note at her parents! I'm still besotted!
My lord, what a voice!
That's super, thanks Rich.
i was born in 1966...and ..at 15...i...heard them...ever since..i'm.a Big fan....of the seekers...
Could you imagine waking up next to that angelic face, no doubt you would be singing this ! I for one will be eternally jealous of Ron, (RIP), luckiest man ever!
Great stereo mix Rich and perfect marching to video footage.
Thanks Jacob!
What a showcase for Judith’s voice!
Live and flawless!
i have been there in 67 Montreal Quebec Canada
Really good song by the seekers🙂🙂
she looks and sounds great as always
Rich, Great job on the video & stereo conversion! Rog
Judith's voice is so normal she never has to prove by screaming. God love her. Too bad the the ones of today can't sing. Sad.
I've pulled up this video every nite im mesmerised by this woman
Every time I watch I feel the need to write about her.
I am sure she is a spirit. Heaven shines from her.
This is the difference between humans and the animal kingdom 🙂
Absolutely
If you listen to the Weavers' rendition you'll notice the second and third lines of each verse have 5 beats to the measure. The Seekers sing it a straight 4/4 all the way through--even in their original version which used the same verses as in the Weavers. I don't know which was time measure was the original.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Angelic
I was at Expo'67 in July of 1967! Unfortunately I did not see this fantastic group with the great Judith Durham! RIP Judith!
This audience didn't know how lucky they were , at the time, to hear a legendary group like the Seekers.
To hear this version of The Weavers well known song. Thankfully Ronnie Gilbert was still alive to hear or see this performance.
I have a few reviews written by people making comparisons of singers to Judith Durham, most of all Karen Carpenter. Karen was a great singer with a beautiful voice, obviously, but neither she nor anyone else can be compared to Judith. The staggering beauty of her voice and singing talent are wonderful almost beyond belief. It’s no wonder that just about everyone thinks that Judith Durham’s singing has been heaven-sent!.
Mate, finally someone with some honest comment! There are many wonderful female singers, Ronstadt, Dame Shirley, Aretha, Ann Wilson, Agnetha Falstog, the list is wonderful, but none, absolutely none compare to Judith, not only does she have incomparable range and crystalline quality, she has a stage prescence that none can match, every time she sings she exudes pure joy. To top it off for me she has unmatched beauty, and a positively evil figure. I love a lot of female singers, the ones ive mentioned i can listen to a lot, but then there is Judith!
@@markhill9275. When I listen to Judith Durham sing songs like “Danny Boy” and “Colours Of My Life”, (which she co-wrote), I get tears in my eyes and I would never describe as an emotional person. Not only does Judith have that astoundingly beautiful voice but her singing is also just loaded with such feeling. By the way, I am glad you mentioned Agnetha Faltskog because she is another truly great singer and, like everyone, I adore ABBA’s music and they are my all-time favourite group. However, neither Agnetha Faltskog nor anyone else can match that “incomparable range and crystalline quality” you mention.
Hi Frank. I have myself written comments on Judith but it seems there is always something else to say. When she gets into stage as you say one gets amazed by her immaculate beauty and stage presence. This lasts for just a moment only since as soon as she starts to sing you get overwhelmed by the sensorial experience of listening to her. This is a quite unique experience since she brings such a Power and beauty to her rendition as no other singer does.
@@osvaldoschilling9129 I couldn’t agree more with you Mr. Schilling. I loved Judith Durham so much hat It was the saddest day of my life since my mother died nearly 8 years ago when I heard she died earlier this year.
Is there a way I can send Judith an email? Just wanna let her know how much I appreciate the seekers music tho I am born in a different time
You can send a message via her official website (link in video info above)
@@rich963 thank u bro
Dear Judith Durham in Heaven forever and ever RIP with angels and Jesus Christ forever
It’s every time hearing the gracious singing of this exquisite lyrics from deep of heart & soul my eye”s swell & water ! These songs rrr sooo RARE”””
Interesting to compare to the just slightly later (January 1968; what month was Expo?) version at ua-cam.com/video/XfsoA_2Mhck/v-deo.html . (Colour, and higher resolution - and she of course hits that note with equal lack of apparent effort and belting.)
The Expo version was one of the earliest broadcasts via Satellite, the '68 version filmed on 35mm for cinema release as well as TV...
It’s just been on the news that Judith Durham has died. Sad loss for her family, friends and her multitude of fans. RIP.
When the stars begin to fall, we're almost there and there'll never be a better day !
Beautiful
Thanks Rich for bringing us another great video of the Seekers and especially of Judith. The only thing better than hearing her beautiful voice is seeing her using it in videos such as these!
The Seekers had an Incredible sound and performance. Unique, and likely always to be so. :) :)
Richard, this video is a real gem! Beautiful! Thank you.
Thank you.
An absolutely incredible find, Rich. For me, this song , which was the flip side of Georgie Girl, I think, really began my renewed love affair with the Seekers, and was behind my decision to take up guitar. This is some live performance with genuine feeling! Thank you!
that voic, heavenly.
Magnificient
I visited Expo '67 in '67 since I live in Laval, n it was absolutely fantabulous. I unfortunately wasn't at this concert.
I was at Expo that summer- 9 years old- but alas not when the Seekers were there. I remember, though, that 1967 was such a hopeful time. I’m glad we didn’t know then what 1968 would bring. The whole world would be torn apart. But the Seekers in 1967 were the best fit for the times. Wonderful performers.
Perfection
She reminds me of Dione Warwick, they both sing so beautifully without stress or strain appearing.
Richard, when Keith handed Judith the tambourine at the end of this song, what were they getting ready to sing?
'Red Rubber Ball'. You can find the full performance on the 'Hidden Treasures' CD (Vol2) & the bonus DVD which comes with it 👍

Just love.
🤩😍💝💖👍🤗
My God, what a voice she had. Is there more video of this concert?
READ THE NOTES! "The complete performance is now available …"
@@G6JPG I read the notes, but didn’t find availability of the whole performance. Or did you mean on DVD?
Hi, I've posted 5 songs from this performance on my channel 👍
gwttinf better this day and age
Oh, that does it. I am never singing again. I will never in all of eternity sound as beautiful as this. I have never heard this song! How stunning!
Salt of earth.
RIP Judith
Jesus , what a voice ....
❤️
👌❤❤❤
Would be nice if it is coloured
It is the mid sixties !
@@barryh.4220 another you was also in mid sixties
@@araara9513 It was, and some, though not all, of the videos of the Seekers singing that are in black and white too.
This was filmed to show on TV, the colour footage we're so lucky to have was made for specials to be shown at the cinema (as well as TV) thankfully.
@@rich963 I mean it would be great if you colorized first before uploading it. Because often i watched old school BW films (on YT) said that it been colorized. Anyway, first time i watched Another You i think i fell in love with the singer, till i searched on wikipedia who she is. Then i found she was mrs. (Used to be miss) Durham, Judith, a pretty woman with wonnnnnnnderful voice. I'm a singer too, on my own deathmetal band.
The pretty legs of lorah moran. We were broken up now she talks to me no more because others were jealous of us thank you
