    I think the fact that everyone still compares every new printer to this model (1.5 years after the P1S release) in their reviews speaks a lot about its relevance and durability. I love my P1S despite some minor nuances

      Most of my problems were related to the AMS. Somehow it doesn't want to feed from the spools with sharp edges. Like it can't grab the spool with the rollers. So I designed and printed "adapters" with the flat edges specifically for such spools. On the other hand I know that your, Keo, AMS works great even with the cardboard spools which is awesome. I guess it's a matter of luck which AMS you get with the printer.

      Somehow I’ve defied AMS physics and I’m alright with it

      What are this nuances? There are few minor annoyances on A1 mini too: Spool holder is like 68mm wide, some spools are 70mm wide. Spool is unwinded as toolhead moves up at end of the print and then filament is lose when it moves down at start of the other, so loop of the filament goes over spool edge and it twists. AMS lite takes a lot of space and despite mini in the name, printer is not compact at all. Other than that I do not like that even PETG or PLA can warp and detach from plate if printed part is long and narrow or does not have large contact area and I'm not sure if enclosed printer can solve this or cause other problems with PLA. Then what I kind of don't like is AMS lite which is designed for spools with 53-58 inner diameter, most of spools I bought have 52-54 (some are slightly conical) and it's somewhat hard to detach them from ams.

    I bought my second P1S combo recently. I love them. The first blockage in the filament extruder unit occurred in my first after 1480 hours total use during a multicolour print, and that was only because the extruder gear was worn. Love my A1 mini, too. There are no bad machine families from Bambu. Mileage may vary on individual machines though.

    I ordered a Grove vision module v2 AI kit for a better camera resolution and I'll try to implement spaghetti detection as well. Also a bento box v2 for when I'm going to experiment with ABS or ASA plastics. Great first 3D printer

      Excellent upgrades. That stock camera is silly useless but they needed to throttle it down as not to steal that X1C thunder. I get it but it’s lame still

    One major factor in choosing the P1S is that I have a cat, and this machine is pretty much cat-proof

    • @KeoPrints
      @KeoPrints  21 годину тому

      I hadn’t considered the cat angle but it makes sense. It is at very least wildly cat resistant

    There are a few companies that have recently announced/made available their multi-material systems, Anycubic and Creality come to mind there. There are also a couple open source projects aiming to bring Multi-material printing to people with Klipper-running machines, the ERCF (Enraged Rabbit Carrot Feeder), and the ArmordTurtle Box Turtle (probably the most AMS-like). both are very DIY solutions, and require buying individual electronics parts, and printing off a number of others.

    • @KeoPrints
      @KeoPrints  День тому +2

      We got ahold of the anycubic a month or so ago and I was pretty impressed. We have a creality K2 coming currently so stay tuned for that as well but I would like to explore the open source options as well at some point. There are still issues with multicolor printing but at least it’s more accessible now

    less than 100 hours on my p1s and the mc board fried. Pretty bummed but Bambu handled my support ticket quickly and were able to determine the issue from the log files on the printer

    Stainless steel nozzle is not rated for abrasives and the ams is the full ams, not the ams lite

    • @Kamikaze3557
      @Kamikaze3557 День тому

      This guy needs to do his research, no abrasive, no glow filament, guess it's abrasive too. Think one can buy a hardened nozzle tho.

    • @KeoPrints
      @KeoPrints  21 годину тому +1

      This guy will occasionally get things wrong. The point I was chasing was the fact that the machine ships with something other than a brass nozzle which is an absolute no go for anything abrasive. But of course, point taken. I should have specified that regular use of abrasives would require at least a hardened steel nozzle and the omission of the AMS

    • @pavelperina7629
      @pavelperina7629 11 годин тому

      @@KeoPrints Also I'm not sure if it needs to change extruder gears, hopefully A1 (mini) comes with hardened steel gears already, but not hardened nozzle.

      @@KeoPrints That's totally fair. That's just one of those printers I've seen a lot of initial hype for through the usual youtube suspects... I'm more interested in the long term of using it. the Prusa XL seems awesome at first and then chips on the buddy board overheat and die so...

    I am very happy with my Bambu printer. That being said everything else with there supply chain sucks. Order arrived middle of November, was supposed to get a starter pack of filament @ bucks. Never showed up Ordered an AMS money left my account the 26th, still no AMS. I requested and got a refund on the filament. Sales and deliveries on printers seems ok everything else is hit or miss with a lot of miss. I can't say I would recommend Bambu Labs to anyone anymore

    The Molex female plugs on the hubs PCB are only available in one angled version. As the PCB has to be mounted on the lid of the hub, they are unfortunately on the wrong side. But there are plenty of tools online to be printed to solve that problem. The other stupid thing is PTFE tube connectors with their release rings Inside of the cover, making it even worse to be unmounted. But there are tools to download and print, so get them.

    • @KeoPrints

    The clip is probably due to "Design by Committee". It was oriented correctly on a different product and they didn't want to spend the time and money to have it redesigned and manufactured. You would think that if they had a convenient cheap manufacturing process they could easily and cheaply make the changes.. but no. LOL
