As soon as I saw this video I ordered some cages from Bruno. I really like how the workers can go in and out of the cage. Anyway, I just finished the oxalic drip at the 24 day mark and, damn. It feels so satisfying to see all those dead mites. Thanks for the tip.

Hope the sales of the queens will cover the honey loss

No, selling queens is actually of very little income in comparison to honey!! I cannot produce enough queens here to sell profitably. It would help but not as good as using them to
Make good nucleus colonies for my own increases in spring ,,replacement or selling for profit!!
      But thank you anyway!! 🐝

Honey loss?? Have you are held a queen cage in your hand or just came to comment? Honey yield, for your knowledge, increases not decreases with caged queens. Years of practise have shown that.

Do you leave any supers of honey on for the bees through winter?

One step forward two sets back. Possibly could have been raising the bees that will raise the winter bees, missed brood cycle. More likely the syrup budget will increase this fall, many less foragers going forward. Keep up the good show M8, we are rooting for you.
