Thanks for all the support!
Ty for sharing. I've been looking for my first yak and I'm about 250lbs. myself. I think this may be the one for me or I'm trying to shoot for the new PWR 129, but looking to get a SS127 used since my budget is a little tight.
Checking in a few weeks later and MAN I love this kayak!
Still Love it?
Looking to Buy Our First 2 Kayaks…
@@dawncrossland3028 as a paddle kayak I wouldn’t not recommend any other. I’m on the fence in transitioning to the P127 or pedal platform though. If you have a healthy back and like to paddle this is still hands down my recommendation.
I'm looking to get my first ever kayak. I'm a bigger guy. I've narrowed my choice down to either the Bonafide SS127 or the Old Town Sportsman 120. Both paddle versions. I like the Bonafide but it's an extra hour and a half drive to the dealer over the Old Town. Any experience with the OT? Would you say the SS127 is worth the extra 1:30 drive (each way) to check out?
Best kayak I own. It’s a heavy kayak to paddle around all day, but that seat more than makes up for it.
Great video! I just wanted to add that the screwed on plate at the rear isn't for storage it's for access to run your electrical to and from the motor if you choose to mount one.
I learned that months later now 😂. We have a later video on a motor install that I utilized the hatch for it.
Bonafide has some of the best colors...
They do! I love the blues they use.
Would you recommend this kayak with the bow mount trolling motor?
Yes. The one objective mount fits perfectly. I’d counter weight the battery in the rear
So, how does it paddle? I have a Viking ProFish Reload and it paddles great as it is an ocean boat. Then I bought a FeelFree Moken 12.5 V2 because it had the wheel in the keel, a sonar pod, and a nice seat. However, it is horrid to paddle, and it has a great reputation for paddling. I have a hard time in the boat because no matter how hard I paddle it just never seems to move well. I think the Viking spoiled me. What do you think of how it paddles, especially when faced with wind and the current?
I had a Moken 12.5V2 previous to this. Paddle wise it’s great. It does track off a bit but they make fins for the rear to adjust that. For a big body kayak it does very well in current and I haven’t had substantial issues. I fish thick vegetation areas too so I’m not the best to answer open water tracking.
Great video!!
Appreciate that! We have a whole series on modifying the SS127. Check the rest out of you enjoyed!
Is there flush mounted rod holder near the seat
Can u put pedals on it?
