The Torqeedo is a great system but there are tons of other options to use standard trolling motors that would be more cost effective. Not exactly the same but would help lengthen your days on the water get some more seat time.
"We've learned patience- supposedly"- cracks me up..... When I ran the cable I used a cheap electrician's fish tape.... Taped the cable to it and pushed it back- quick and easy!
I don’t understand the need for so much slack in the motor lift line. When in the down position, wouldn’t you want the line snug against the jam cleat? Same with the reverse lock line. I can understand an inch or two of slack so as not to unintentionally activate the reverse lock. What am I missing? In any event, nice set up and great looking mount.

I have an older Malibukayaks Xfactor Xl that I intend installing same bracket and 403. Would I simply affix the bracket with self-tappers? Unable to cut a access hatch due to it bot being flush. Any suggestions out there. Are there any flexible hatches with flexible gators and lids? I'm from uk so any links or recommendations most appreciated
Use tri-grip rivets instead of screws when attaching tracks or kayak accessories on a kayak...holds 10 times better...you will bump the throttle getting in your boat and pull the screws out...rivets are the secret...that’s why manufacturers do it.
Now that you and Jeff have been using your yaks for awhile I have a question with regards to the Gear Trac 175. For mounting the Yak Attack Gear Trac 175 for the throttle mount install, would you upgrade to backing plates and bolts verse the screws?

The stern of the SS107 is a bit different and doesn't have the 4 threaded inserts, that the SS127 has, allowing for the Torqeedo mount to be a quick easy on easy off solution.
uhhm I think telling people to use a lighter to modify for a correct installation is a bit lazy on torqeedoes part especially for the price......just saying,the guide tube for the controls should come ready from the factory with a decent way to install,instead of the tweeker hack with the Bic lighter
People like options. There are plenty of other solutions ranging from a standard trolling motor to the Torqeedo and everything in between. This is also the larger battery; as the standard Torqeedo option of the 403 A is $1,799.99.
It is powered by a lithium ion battery and isn't a trolling motor. There is always the option to paddle or use a standard trolling motor, so the Torqeedo is just one of the options available.

With the reverse knob wouldnt you be able to hook it to the throttle so when you pull it back it locks that in place

The stock hardware is just perfect for this install.

Early September along with the SS Series Rudder Kit.
Feed both tubes then tilt the boat backwards and both tubes will fall to the rear, it's that simple, you shouldn't even need the weights.

The RS117 is very different and doesn't have the 4 threaded inserts on the stern. Routing the steering line and tubing will be very different as well.

I have a 107 is it the same setup as the 127 besides having to get the track mounts for the stern to attach the eyelets?

Rudder tubes have been installed this way forever. Anyone who has worked in a kayak shop does this on a daily basis.
The complication with this installation suggests its a space project. I thought it was something more simple.
