We have just started to sell this kayak. When I saw it I felt in love. Front side is like a cocodrile and it has a very muscle hull. Love it.
Excellent review. Enough info on what is not liked to give me confidence that it is an honest review and also coming from someone with lots of Kayak experience. A new buyer is more than likely going to like what they got but having no point of reference really cannot say if they got value for their money. The review had me sold on this being a great Kayak and I always desired a Bonafide paddle kayak but then decided that a pedal was going to be a better choice. For me the cost is just too much for me. I still work a lot so not sure how much use it will get even though I live where it is warm for most of the year. I have no doubt that it would be a great choice but not sure that it being so much more than the old town at the same length gives you that much better of a kayak. I suppose having a chance to use both would tell the tale. So videos like this is my way of determining which Kayak best suits my needs and my wallet. Thanks and keep it up. This site is one of the ones that has reviews that I trust.
i would say try to demo if you can, i bet you have a friend that has a friend that has one of these boats or maybe a dealer, it is a difficult decision, choosing to buy something without actually testing it.
To me it just doesn't seem like this kayak is worth $3000+. I feel like it should be around the price of a Sportsman 120PDL or Salty 120PDL ($2200-$2400). Seem like a lot of needless features as well as a lot of things that they compromised on.

Especially if you look at a dorado from feelfree or equivalent … that is a lot of wiring and mounting left up to you to do for 3k

Awesome walk through. Old Town has a good paddle placement on the side. But all and all I thought that was a very fair assessment of the kayak.
I have a Slayer peddal drive. How does it paddle and pedal when it come to speed? Been looking at Bonified for a few years and now really interested now that it has same drive as the slayer.

Will be hard to sell this next to any native especially a slayer 12.5 and for 3k I should have to do anything to my seat like making sure it’s aligned.. p127 v2 will be the boat to buy if bonafide is paying attention

Chad referenced a motor mount from Tray Leach that put the motor a little more rearward. Was that a Torqeedo mount or a universal trolling motor mount? Great review!!!
Just bought one of these 2 days ago for tournament fishing already had a ss127 my only gripe so far about the p127 is I liked the small like 4” tracks right behind the bow hatch on the ss was perfect place for my helix 7 I understand that’s where the pedal drive goes on this so they aren’t there but now I feel very limited to location of it on the p127 where my legs or pedals don’t hit the finder

Have recently started watching both of you on Utube, not really a fan of social media. U are both great and seem to have a blast together with David and the family in Auburndale. And yeah I'm back here temporarily where I grew up. Have just been recreational kayaking for years and several months ago purchased a Native Titan 12 from David. Trying to finish my trailer now but I'm not a fisherman. Just like to fish, and hunt and camp, and everything else outdoors. So I'm building more of a War Wagon. Hunting, Fishing, Camping, small invasion. I'm just headed to the woods. Wish me luck and guys, keep up the great work. Stay safe

This boat is at my local shop, Fishing Tackle Unlimited. I really like it. I am in debate between the Hobie Outback and this. I like saving about a grand on this boat, but I think the Hobie is better for shallow inshore fishing.
If you’re doing shallow water I’d probably go with the Hobie. I bought a 2018 used camo edition for a really good deal and fish a lot of shallow marshes where it handles well.
I’m on my third Hobie and wouldn’t even consider something like this. You would be better off getting a used hobie than a new version of this for a similar price. You can get a used pro angler 14 (pre 360 drive) for this price. It seems these companies add a bunch of cheesy add-ons that look cool in concept but don’t seem to have longevity.
Honestly I was very underwhelmed be the bonafide p127 performance. I'd go with the outback, Or a old town bigwater 132.. the big water is and impressive performer.
Can you store rods inside like the bonafide ss127.

And Thank You Chad with the Motor Comment, I've had several Spinal Surgeries / Spinal Fusions and I love my Native Slayer Max's Pedal drive but on longer runs i need the Bow Mount motor and Stern Mount Motor. I'd be in serious trouble and or my days on the water would be much shorter, so a Motor setup for myself is a very big Deal. Think the front storage opening back instead of forward looks like it would get in the way on the water. But maybe it is fine will look for some on water videos.
it opens BOTH ways. sadly they didnt show it. TBH this is an AWEOSME feature of the bonafides. Ive got an ss127 and love that aspect over my jackson big rig.

I bought my ss127 a few years ago for $1500. I always thought it would be great to have a pedal version.. but I'm not about to buy a $1500 pedal drive system. Nor would I give up the adjustable seat (hi/low).
Is it just me or does the track location seem to be an after thought? I'd probably just install an H-rail on there anyway. Nice yak just the same. :)

I have thought about getting one and adding a front mount Motorguide XI3 with the GPS option and skip the PowerPole Micro altogether. I’m only 160lbs and I can put my battery anywhere. Any issues with this plan?

I’d stick with Old Town or Hobie until the second iteration of this comes out. All the reviews I’ve seen have been exactly the same. “It’s a great kayak… BUT” hopefully all the kinks get worked out in a year or two. Also the price? Cmon now.
sorry but I liked Bonafide more pre merger, just see to much of Native coming through, I still Like my ss127 its a great boat but I am looking into other options.
Interesting. Id not heard of the merger till now. I'll have to look into it now. I also have a native manta ray 12 that was good. I like alot of the bonafide engineering and thoughtfulness. The only thing i hate with the ss127 of mine is the seat. I am a 46" waist so the seat hurts me.
@@MysticalDragon73 I understand, having a comfortable seat is priority in a kayak. I have been following Bonafide a few years now when questioned about pedal drives they said they are a paddle company and had no intentions on releasing a peddle drive and was going to focus on paddlers, well fast forward to the merger and that went out the window quick. Not bashing their quality I still think they make a solid kayak I enjoy mine.
@@UWPcustombaits I like mine too but got a Jackson big rig a few days later. It handled better with being able to haul more equipment so I've not used my bonafide as much. I nearly sold it. However I like so many things and how stable it is

It seems like Bonafide kayaks are all You Tube hype !!! I spent $1500 on the SS107 and the fit and finish is trash !!! All the pads on the deck are crooked and more then half the screws heads are stripped foot pedals barely slide e-mail them and don’t even respond

So u want me to spent 3k plus on this kayak and need to do a bunch of modifications to the seat so it stops making noise , so it won't slide crooked , drill into it and put a screw and rubber washer ....pshhhhhh . Good thing they wasted r and d into putting the useless mount in the bow
Does it ride drier than the slayer max with the scuppers out? The slayer max fills with water. It's pretty shocking the first time you pull them how much water spews in 😀🤣😂

Not worth price my ss127 cost =1600 Xi3 kayak motor =1200 in the battery of your choice and you’ve got a better set up in my opinion not happy because they designed a different kayak just to put the pedal drive system if they were smart they should’ve just kept existing 127 and made Drive system for it but they want my money 💰 and that’s what makes me not happy about them right now greedy bonafide shame shame

Tell Old Town that every kayak seat can be slanted sideways on accident... I'll take my topwater over this thing any day of the week
Also, Old Town found figure it out a good way of keeping the paddle handy and outside the kayak while you're using it... Just saying
