I recently bought a 97 Toyota Runner with over 300,000 miles that was owned by a mechanic and he kept it well maintained because his daughter used it to drive to high school. She graduated and was given a newer car. It runs perfectly. My rear window was half down and I could not figure out how to raise it back up until I saw your great video. It is starting to rain here so the timing was perfect. By the way, this is my second 97 4 Runner and it too was built like a tank and I sold it for more than $4000 than I paid for it. Thank you!
New SR5 with 9000 miles Problem 1 Rear wipers would not turn on or spray Problem 2 Just noticed Rear window slightly open about 1 inch Your instructions. Using center console to close window Fixed Problems 1and 2 New to 4 Runner thanks. Well done Sir
Very good explanation! Could not find a side by side comparison like this. Looking to get one of the last 5th gen '24 model SR5 Premiums before it goes away forever!
We couldn't understand why we could open the back window when the whole vehicle was locked. We were thinking ..OMG, SOMEONE COULD JUST WALK OVER AND STEAL EVERYTHING IN THE BACK. Then, as you were talking about holding the key and it would open, DUH, we realized we were holding the key and THAT'S why the window would open with the car locked up. Thank you. lol
On the Limited or other trim level that has the smart key, is it possible to open the back window if the truck is unlocked but your smart key fob isn't with you? For instance, if the truck is in the garage (unlocked) and you run out to the truck to get something out of the back without the fob, will the back window roll down?
So I had a 2007 4Runner for over 10 years it had a button specifically for putting the rear window up or down on the key fob. I now have a new 2022, I miss being able to roll down the back window with the key fob. Do you know of any way to do it. Plus god damn you look like the man when in need of a 4runner.... Lol..... My local dealer can hardly get a new Toyota on the lot. I had to travel nearly 500 miles to acquire my new 2022 4Runner Limited (Black on Black).

It's hard to get 4runners now

My 2013 SR5 Ignition Key wont open the rear door or window. The key wont even turn. Why?
Could have corrosion in the lock cylinder
2021 sr5 premium, the bottons in the back rolls down the glass and locks the car . Problem: the back botton doesn't roll up the glass!
@@AbuInsights press and hold it
Any way to remotely, with key fob to open rear window?
no
On a sr5 base with cloth seats, it has the buttons on the back but they won’t roll down the window.
May have been replaced before
@@stevenwelchtoyota it’s a 22 with less than 500 miles. Am I doing something wrong? Has the sr5 badge
Buttons say lock and unlock
@@dirtbikerooI’ve got the same thing going on
My window doesn't roll down all the way and I don't know why. There is at least and inch left or 2 from rolling all the way down. 2017 SR5
could have an alignment issue measure the distances from the top of the opening to the glass on each side to check
Do you sell 4runners? A good choice
I do
@@stevenwelchtoyota ok, how could i get one from you. Your email address?

Are there any forerunners that doesn’t have a window that rolls down?
No
The back window will go down, but won't go up, anyone have any suggestions?
Close your door and other windows. It wants to lock when rolling up from the back switch
