Amazing video!! Had a loose piece of metal clanging around every time I opened/closed the rear hatch. This video is perfect to follow! I also had to unscrew and pull down my speaker so I could shove my hand into the metal/body cavity… and wala !! A loose nut that turns out to be VERY important.. your 4Runner name plate (liftgate garnish) is secured by 4 bolts with nuts. My liftgate garnish was a little loose and it drove me nuts but I had no idea why. This loose nut was the culprit! I screwed it back on and now my liftgate garnish is super secure! Thanks so much for helping save my money and sanity!!
I am here for the very same reason. 2020 Off-Road
Same. 2017 TRD Pro
same!!!! haha.
Same 2016 SR5
This is why I’m currently watching this video. The screw is driving me crazy!
This video was spot on!! Thank you!!
Much appreciated! Thanks to your video I was able to access and quickly fix a finicky reverse camera in my 4Runner -- a loose wire housing that was easy to fix but mystified my Toyota dealer -- and saved money too,
Thanks bro. Super easy to follow and quick to the point.
Thanks man! Great video got to fix door wife is happy.
Thanks , your vid saved me time to tighten some screws.
doing a 4 runner tomorrow thanks bro!
Good info! thanks man!!
Thanks for sharing
Thank you brother
One 10mm at the grab handle. Thats it.. Have no idea what else you unscrewed. Also an indent to start the pry tool on passenger side
Thanks! That helped
Real handy videos for a guy like me who started a job as a body worker thank you sir 🫡
Thanks dude
Easy peasy- Thanx
Actually no need to remove the two 10mm by each of the lights. Those bolts hold the speakers to the door. Only need to remove the 10mm by the pull cord. The panel is held on my 12 push clips. so just pry them out.
I came here to say the same thing. Just to be clear, you still need to remove the lights though.
Good call. I’m about to pop panel off. 2014 Runner lift gate is rusted out from the inside. All of this internal components have been compromised. So yesterday 7/29 I powered window down a bit to get some airflow and the glass went sideways & upon further inspection through rust holes in the garage I could see the tiny cable that secures glass has slipped off these round polyurethane guide tabs. Ahhhhh. Living in northern Wisconsin winters wreaks havoc on metal parts.
I am having trouble getting license plate screws out on back of 2016 4Runner...would this allow me access to the back of the screws??? or would there be more to remove....was thinking vice grip from back?? the plate is on with rusted screws...not bolts...
Same 18 pro
What year?
Sweet. Easier than I expected. Cheers. 👍🤪🏳️🌈
