The comments are cracking me up. To everyone complaining about how noisy it is, this is at the Dole Plantation on Oahu in Hawaii. It's a store/restaurant/farm/tourist attraction. She has no control over everything else going on.
Clearly, the lady is presenting to a tour group. She is working for a Pineapple farm I guess. And besides the Pineapple, she is also selling the Red Powder for seasoning the Pineapple slices. Looks great!
Nice video, In Ireland we call them pine apple, but they would be relatively new to our pallets, our climate does not allow growing, we get lovely imports, Thanks people. I always taught it was because they look like pine cone,(Scots pine)... Ananas seems the similar to 'banana', very interesting that we've been using the wrong name for all this time. ..pity about some of the comments. good video, discussion, seen Thai people peel them spirally very quick and skillful. .

we call Ananas in middle east :) or at least where i used to live (Iraq) , not sure if its arabic or not :) , and that looks like the dole plantation Hawaii i was just there last week , I loved the maze ! it is a must see if you go to hawaii :) why are people so negative about the comments ! its just a share of though :)
i was on this site but no comment but i am back i live in lyons il on 39 th street they have the pineapple slicer at aldi's for 4.99 on the link for the slicer is 16 dollars so go and buy it because i can't i don't have the money for it thank you ladies and gentlemen
The video is informative. Thee is a loud back ground music( not a music but a noise) which is disturbing. Could have been totally removed or some soft music played.

Pineapples do have acids but so do Oranges. Its not acid making your mouth tingle its an enzyme. Plus both her methods of peeling looks waste full.
***** I once ate 1kg of pineaple in one sitting and it made me bleed from my mouth. lol Lesson learned! So delicious though!
***** From what I heard it has some enzymes destroying proteins. Because of this it is hard to make pineapple gelo hehe :)
