I’m the guy who started out shooting photos on my phone, editing them in Lightroom. My love for travel and photography pushed me to explore something a bit more advanced. I realized I didn’t need a big, bulky camera-it just wasn’t practical for my style. So, I invested in the Fujifilm X100VI. I love its compact size, and it genuinely makes me happy every time I take a shot, which is what matters most to me. The battery life works for me, though I’ll definitely pick up a spare. Cheers!
First, you look badass on that boat. Second, said it was better than I ever could. Liking and disliking things about a camera at the same time. The X100 series is magical, but there’s a lot of stuff coming out that gives me the same feeling while offering more filmic perspectives. They should have called this the X100V-R with a “the X100V finally in stock!” Message
🇸🇪 I've always enjoyed your reviews and thoughts on photography. Been shooting Fujifilm since 2018 I wholeheartedly agree with all your points on the VI. I've got the V and when I saw the feature set of the VI I didn't have a 2nd thought about skipping this iteration. Sure the IBIS could open up some creative solutions, but the small battery and the uhs1 card slot made me kind of pissed. The V will probably never get traded until there is a similar featured FF offering within a hobbyist price point. I hope some other brands tries to challenge Fujifilm on this to get them on their toes. Don't agree with you on the menues though. Maybe I'm to accustomed to that system the Sony menues just feels like a labyrinth. But most camera manufacturers need to sort menues and their apps out. It's starting to get ridiculous. Thanks for a great review.
I’m so glad to see reviewers be honest about this system. I’ve had my x100vi for months and it’s slowly becoming my least used camera compared to my other Leica and Fuji options. I truly regret selling my x100v because I don’t notice much improvement at all for double the price resale.
This is the first time I have encountered your channel. Your thorough and thoughtful critique demanded that I subscribe, which is something I generally resist. I hope your other videos and other topics interest me, because your commitment to quality and content really impressed me! Thank you for the experience.
The battery vs ibis - I totally disagree. I never saw it as a problem to travel with 4-5 batteries, charging all of them in a hotel room can be annoying, but really it’s fine. The ibis, however, is one of the features I was most excited by, because I love taking photos in low light situations
I feel privileged, I only waited three weeks for mine. I brought it as there are times when you don’t want to change lenses (dusty environment) and don’t want to risk damaging the sensor. This was an update from my X100T and for all the faults it does bring a smile to my face when I use it.
Heart skipped a beat when you held it over the water😂 I ended up waiting 3 months for my X100VI and I like it a lot for casual jpeg shooting and it's a lot lighter than my Leica Q3 (to which I still gravitate much more). I basically divided all the specs I want in a camera over three cameras now: image quality from Leica, ease and portability from Fuji, and amazing autofocus in Sony a6700/35mm 1.4 GM. My camera bag is getting heavy😅loving all the reviews! watching from Holland🇳🇱!
I am an amateur photographer, loves photography since quite some time reading a lot of reviews. I found this review the most informative giving all the pros and cons. By far the best.Thanx a lot. India
In my humble opinion, the list of improvements you covered will come, and not all at once, but will be trickled out in the next version and the next version after that and ad infinitum. They have done this for years.
I started with Fuji with the original X100. Since 2011, I have owned the X100 S, F and V, the X Pro 1 and 3, the XT 1, 2, 3 and 5 and many Fuji primes and zooms. I preordered the X100 V, received it on the day of its release and have used it extensively until acquiring the XT 5 last year. I now predominately use the XT5 paired with a number of manual Voigtlander vintage and modern primes. I considered preordering the X100 VI but decided to wait to see if it was a worthy upgrade to V. Now I doubt I will ever own one due to the inability or refusal of Fuji to make this product reasonably available. This is not the first time Fuji has disappointed me with their product launches. It took me at least a year to obtain the 70-300 zoom and the 27 F2.8 Mark II after their launches. As a result of what I view as an unacceptable situation I have begun to reconsider my commitment to the Fuji system, I am thinking of buying a Nikon ZF, and pairing it Voigtlander primes. As a hobbyist, I will not operate 2 systems so if I decide to make the move to Nikon, it will likely be the end of my Fuji journey.
🇩🇪 - the country of the red dot 😇 I own the X100VI since day one it was released, because I was lucky and my local camera store pulled some strings for me and I agree 100% what you said about the pros, but specially the cons. Unfortunately I have the feeling Fuji was not able to learn from their mistakes during the X100V shortage and due to this X100 hype the OG DNA, which originally drove Fuji fans to them, the Kaizen principle, is more then gone. Still I like to use my X100VI for family stuff, specially one handed when I'm holding one of my kids. But if I want to have more joy and fun out of photography I grab one of my M cameras. That's also how I discovered your channel, so hearing your reason, why you stop reviewing Fuji stuff makes total sense for me. I discovered you for your Leica M stuff and know you use Leica for professional and personal work. In my opinion I can kinda hear your lack of enthusiasm in this X100VI video compared to your other Leica reviews, e.g. your long time M11 review (no critic, just want to support your point :). Anyways like a said in previews videos, I really love your long term reviews and am curious on what kind of videos you are currently working on - and which Fuji camera will change your mind again :D Keep rocking brother and greetings from 🇩🇪
Thank you for watching and sharing these thoughts. It truly means a lot when people watch all the way through and can have a dialog. I’m really hoping Fujifilm’s best days are ahead of it.
Just found you through this video and damn this was such a treat to watch. To watch a true pro review this camera was a treat. I canceled my preorder for this camera a few weeks ago after Moment had only moved me forward in line 200 places after waiting 9 weeks (after preordering on the very first day). I found a x100v in great condition for a great price and pulled the trigger on it, and I’m very happy I did. I wish I had the vi, but this video gives me some peace knowing how you compare it to its predecessor. Thanks for such an insightful review.
Great review. I was lucky to get the Fujifilm X100VI. Years ago started with the X100, had the X100S, skipped the T, then to the F and V. Also have a Nikon Z6II. When I browse to all my photos I'm very happy with the results of the X100-series. Just great pics. I use the Nikon more for homestudio hobby. To heavy for me for travel 🇳🇱
Hah, got it too really quickly. And I will only ad either a Nikon Z7 Mark 3 or a Panasonic S5 mark 2 R version in 2025. Next stop must be minimal 33MP full frame but with outstanding color science. I shall keep my RX 100 VI.
Love your videos. I took a first generation X100 to Qatar 12 years ago and was recently reviewing the photos and they were so much better than I remember. I am a Leica user now (M10-P and M10-M) and use a Q2 the way I would use a X100. I think the resale prices that X100s command now a jump to a first gen Q would make sense for a lot of people. I am a simple armchair expert (although the "expert" part is questionable), but a long time watcher first time commenter and I appreciate your thoughtful content. Keep it up.
Nice review. If you consider the cost of inflation, this X100vi is actually cheaper than the X100v at launch. So in that context they added IBIS and a 40mp sensor and the inflation adjusted price to the consumer actually went down (if you can ever buy one that is😅). I appreciate that you used the camera for multiple months before giving your review on it.
Adjusted for inflation I thought it still went up in price but that might be the CAD pricing (or just a miscalculation on my part). But good point! Thanks for watching ✌🏾
Great points, Gajan. I’ve used this camera on two big trips and I love it. I brought along my XH2S but found myself reaching for the VI much more often. Its low profile and light weight were very useful. Before buying it, I compared it long and hard with the Q3 but the IBIS on the VI was the selling point for me. The lower weight was also a bonus. I agree that it’s not a perfect camera. Fujifilm have rested on their laurels a bit with the X100 line. The menu system could use an update, simplification. The limited UHS-I card slot is vexing. But this is a marked step up in the X100 series. Very quick, very easy to use.
Add the IBIS to the ND filter and full flash sync = a very versatile tool. I got great 'flow' shots of a waterfall creating its own rainbow at the Three Gorges in China (needing IBIS and ND) then took it down two different cave systems (where there is some lighting) and the results hand held were superb - because of IBIS. The Nisi UV filter that makes it all water proof and adds a mini lens hood is very good quality, cheap and the lens cover still works with it. Love the film sims as I use Fuji and Kodak film (35mm and 120mm). Film cost is now the constraint. I use Reala Ace, Velvia and Provia - like in the old days. I've not used video on it as my iPhone 15 Pro Max with Blackmagic does a pretty decent job for non pro video guy like me. Overall, as a support camera to my pro Canon gear, it's great and about 1/4 the weight of my 5D mk3 + 24-105 F4L. I had weight restrictions (5kg) and size restrictions on cabin bags - for internal flights in China. I used the Fuji for 80% of the time and my great little Canon M5 and 55-200 zoom for long reach shots. I guess the total weight was about 2kg but both systems were accepted by the local and security staff. Maybe a Q3 as a bucket list upgrade next year when I retire but as an enthusiast it's a huge amount of money. We will see....
Great points about the menu system. Fuji can do better. It doesn't bother me because I don't need to go in them often, but it should be improved especially for this camera's audience.
Nice to hear the smoldering critique about the production. I ordered mine Feb. 21 and just got it 2 days ago! (11/9/24)- and only after I first ordered a pro pack of Portra from the retailer. I wasn’t even set to get it until mid December! 🫣
🇳🇱 - I discovered you since the Leica M11 monochrome first impressions video came out. I love how you tell stories while reviewing stuff or talking about photography or travel videos. So that made me binged all of your videos and made me subscribe. My girlfriend sitting next to me noticed the Tamil map of Sri Lanka on your camera in one of the videos, so I found out you are (I guess) fellow Tamilan as well! I wish you all the best from the Netherlands.
Here is the thing, working in clothing manufacturing and with a lot of "hype" brands this is exactly what they want. Human nature means that you want what you can't get, and the fact that no one can get their hands on it only helps feed the hype and people wanting it super bad. Even if they could meet production demands, it is in their best interest to not meet the demands.
Absolutely the best review I’ve seen, honest and balanced. Agree with all your comments. I have owned a x100f and xt3 for the past few years having moved from a canon 5d. I have enjoyed both. I recently upgraded the f to the vi, I would summarise. I like the vi it’s a great camera BUT It’s too expensive imho it’s a £1300 camera, that should include the weather sealing not £1700, moving production to china is a cost cutting measure, as is not including a battery charger. Even if you want one you can’t get it, Fuji is camera company who can’t supply your camera, they are more interested in creating demand, the v was all but unavailable for 4 years, this is exactly the same. Completely agree the battery and menus are atrocious Real world use, Increased megapixel does not = improved image quality. very disappointed in the ibis and autofocus, my hit rate is less than with the f. I am sick of Fuji they used to put customers first now I feel they are laughing at their customers and ultimately their inability to supply cameras will lead to their demise. I urge canon or Nikon to make their own x100 form factor addressing the short falls, when they do it will be the last Fuji I buy unless they start respecting customers. I disagree the weather sealing is not an attempt to increase profit, it’s a joke £100 extra for weather sealing 😂😂😂😂 as for production moving to china has not met demand all it’s done is reduce production costs, possibly reduce build quality, we will wait and see BUT definitely increasing profits. Fuji, your genuine customers are not stupid!!!
I will be there with my wife and X100VI in the autumn of 2025 on a 16 day tour and adding in stopover in HK on the way back to the UK. Looking forward to it.
Hi, I’m a Leica Q1 shooter thinking of both upgrading (the flippy screen and ibis) and downsizing (the form factor and heft) and this camera seems to fit the bill - in more ways than one lol. Thanks for your pos and neg insights. I’ll miss that lens!✌️🇦🇺
🇫🇮 I had X100F, then sold it and used X-Pro3 for some time, and now I am back to X100VI. As one UA-camr put it, the pick-up-ability on X100VI is just so good. And I have to agree. It’s the one camera I take with me pretty much anywhere I go. That said, couldn’t agree more about the menu system! I also have the OG Leica Q, and its simplicity is always refreshing. But it’s not as portable as X100VI, which is why it’s seeing less action now. I really wish Fuji started removing instead of adding features on the software side.
Maybe in the minority, but the slow roll-out helped retain that feeling of having something that feels more special than the sum of its parts. Especially since the whole tiktok thing took off some of that sheen. The anticipation (not annoying delays) is part of the experience, and no anticlimax. It's really affordable luxury and feels it. Does anyone really "need" such a camera? And I do think the output of the 40MP sensor is all round better than the last gen. The cropability, increased dynamic range, good low light all open up great options for in camera and in post. Most important, the colours just pop that little bit more... especially good for a camera every bit as suited for jpeg shooting, if not more. To my eyes noticeably better than the last gen, which I found a bit dull and needed more post processing. I really appreciate the unlimited user customisation of zone shapes and AF-all customisation - even if it would be better stuited on an x-t5 or x-h2. I love you can set up a customised film sim bracket for each custom setting, so every recipe can contain up to 4 sims, 3 of which can be shot simultaneously. More culling, but less temptations to edit in post. But. Its a flagship of sorts for Fuji and it feels Fuji did the least possible to update it. And thats a shame. Easy to overlook the same lens, EVF, OVF, focal length, SD, battery, LCD if its an x100v mkii. For a new gen I feel left a little short. Had hoped for an 18mm lens, with fingers crossed a 27mm gfx big brother some time. Some signs of progress. But really its Achiles heel now is the lens I feel. Soft until f4 at the minimum focus diatance is disappointing, and we are spoilt for amazing lenses now. So while its really good, you wouldn't buy it for the amazing lens, because its just good. But a limitation of the form factor and goal to keep it compact I suspect. Which is why I think think the GFX version is so important. New template enables Fuji to really address what it cant do with the Fuji within that budget or size. My journey of 2x x79, 2x x100V and the x100vi has cost me in total "just" €950, imcluding the wide adapter and other accessories. That alone peobably means it's a long term compact option keeper. But I am very excited for the GFX.
🇩🇪 living in 🇧🇻! Sad to hear you are not doing Fuji videos anymore, but all your other Videos are of course amazing as well :) stay awesome, brother! Love your Videos and personality
Thanks you for this interesting video and of course your. Very views and comments, I agree that Fuji should go back to Japan like the x100V was made I am a story teller in the waiting as I am on the ever growing frustration wait list to buy this incredible camera. Your told a great story too. I could not stop watching. So, Nyerere hope that all, the folk who are waiting gets this - iconic camera soon. thank you again.
🇮🇳 Absolute banger of the video about X100VI! It is tough to get hands-on in India, and the price differs greatly from the West or SEA countries. But hoping to get hands-on one piece for the love of photography and Fujifilm.
Really interesting and thoughtful review! My vi comes today as I’m upgrading from the v. I can only imagine that the battery life will be just as bad… I would’ve taken a *slightly* larger body to get a bigger battery 100%. I’m really looking forward to the ibis. Do you find that the 40mp sensor is truly better for resolution? Or is there not a noticeable difference when cropping?
I appreciate your review but I think it is a bit dramatic. I agree that the stock situation isn’t great but I didn’t see you request Leica to apologize profusely for releasing a $9,000 camera (M11) that was buggy and froze for many. For that amount of money, the camera should not freeze or have software that hasn’t been thoroughly tested. I tried for two years to find an x100v at retail and wound up with an x-e4 and an x-pro3. I was able to pre-order an x100vI from Bestbuy at launch and received it 2 weeks later. I also had preordered from a local camera shop and it came in 2 weeks later. I cancelled that order. I started watching your Fujifilm videos and I remember you saying that if a camera makes you want to pick it up then it succeeded. Adding a bigger battery would change the look of the x100 series. Some would love it and others would hate it. The original designer wanted to make sure that if you lined up all of the x100 series cameras, you wouldn’t be able to tell a difference easily. People may not like that but I respect the take it or leave it approach. I am extremely happy with my x100vI. I have traveled quite a bit with it and it does everything I need from a fixed lens camera. It’s not perfect but no camera is. Now, any other Fujifilm that is in stock will do 85% of what you get from the x100vI. X-t5, x-h2, xs20, x-t50 are all in stock and are almost always in stock. You can’t be mad because they have a hit with the x100vI. In regard to game consoles, I waited 1 year to find a PS5 in stock. Thanks again, 🇺🇸
I’m happy for you, I just don’t believe your situation is the standard with the X100VI. And that’s a failure from a product planning side. With respect to the M11 firmware, I was fortunate enough to not have any major issues. It didn’t lock up any more than any of my Fuji or Sony cameras did, where a battery pull solved the issue. But as I saw more news of people having worse issues, I brought it up in videos *and* directly to the software team at Leica. Having worked and communicated with both brands, I find Leica more receptive to feedback and criticism. The massive inflection in Fujiflm’s brand has led to a negative shift in their imaging business, at least in my opinion. And I think it’s fair to credit them for what works while criticizing what doesn’t. Thanks for watching ✌🏾
What an excellent video!. Interesting and brutally honest ! Bang on the topic. I shot sony and om-system. They are way better than the overpriced X100VI. I got mine a couple of months back and honestly because of GAS. I love the camera but the menu sucks and so does the battery. The autofocus needs improvement, Its like using a focusing system from the 2015. The biggest problem, people want what they can't have and Fujifilm probably is utilising the benefit of scarcity. 🇮🇳
🇺🇸🇮🇳 - I completely agree with all your complaints you had with Fuji. I really wish they would change up their product line, there are way too many variations all built using the same sensor. Their menu system really needs help
🇨🇦 - Very well said sir. I totally agreed with your overall statement about how Fujifilm’s release of this camera has been mismanaged. I’ve been on a waiting list since it was released back in February. Looks like it might/could be here in November 2024 or maybe early 2025… 😕🇨🇦 I guess good things come to those who wait, huh? A great video sir. You’ve got a new subscriber. ~Cheers 👍🏻📷
I'm one of the target user types. Within the Fuji line I've got an XT3, and this is my "everyday" keep in my bag camera. I love it so far except for the IBIS sway that continues even after the camera is off, and how cheap the AV and Battery compartments feel. The AV/Charging one.. boy! it feels like it WILL break inevitably at some point. Hopefully not.
🇩🇪 Have it since March 2024. I sold the F and the V, because they have some issues, but will never sell the VI, because now this camara is ready. IBIS plus ND makes shots out of the hand with water floating. 40MP helps to crop and with WCL and TCL I now do not need a zoom, because I have 18, 23 and 33mm plus crop at f2.0. You are right with some of your critics, especially the menue, but this is a cruel thing for all Fuji cameras, not only the VI.
This camera should be for photographers only. No serious or semi serious filmmaker is going to use this for important footage! The VI is packed with features that are unnecessary. For those wanting to shoot a quick video, the iPhone is sufficient.
Well said! I was distracted from time to time by that cool watch bracelet you were sporting. Which one is it, if you don't mind me asking. If you don't feel like saying, that is totally fine. Cheers!☺
Ach I can’t believe the stock issues with this camera- I managed to get one on launch day in Scotland after foolishly selling my Q2 for it, after getting sucked in with the VI hype. I loved the V, and got sucked in and sold the Q2. Immediately I realised my error and after trying SO hard to love, actually even like it- I sold it two weeks later and ordered a Q3. So many issues with it, which you’ve highlighted. The fact that you can’t get it-STILL is ridiculous. And it’s not worth it when you do. If you do want an X100, get the V, or the F.
Being my impulsive self, if there were any time in the last two years when I could have bought an X100 V (or now VI) and actually had it in my hands in a week or two, I almost certainly would have one. Maybe I ought to thank Fuji for being so bad at making this thing that I have still never bothered ordering one haha Because of that I used to think 'oh I'll wait for the X-Pro 4 until I upgrade'. Now it's looking like they might not ever even make it lmao Maybe I'll just go back to my old canon t3i and call it 'indie' or 'retro'
I am a fuji shooter myself and until now, i still don't get the hype of the x100 series. Well, maybe if they are selling for $1000 cheaper than the current market price which i personally believe to be ridiculously high for a fixed lens aps-c.
I'll take the IBIS over more battery lol. For whatever reason, I get enough battery life out of it. And I can charge it via USB-C from my travel brick anywhere. And yeah, the menu is pretty insane, but once the learning curve is over... it's still insane lol. But I got kind of used to it. As for video, for quick tourist clips I just use my iphone. It's just better. A pro would use a camera other than this one. I think the only reason Fuji included video is just to say it's there. As for the demand: If Fuji built a factory that could immediately fulfill the massive initial demand, they'd have a lot of wasted production space once all the initial buyers had their camera. They have to think years ahead when spending millions on a factory - will this factory meet the total demand over the next few years until the next product improvement? Or, they could manufacture a few million cameras and store them in a warehouse for a year (at some cost), delaying the release date, so that they have a camera for everyone on release day. Either way, everybody waits.
@@TheBawssThomas on god. When the OG r5 was available for pre order I paid in full and waited 6 months for it to come. Day 1 pre order. Same thing in 2024 day 1 10:03am pre order and somehow I’m still waiting lmfao. (It’s because online sales and in person physical are one stock so thousands were pre ordered before i could speak to a human. Love the E commerce trumps in person sales logic from them! lol)
USA….the big retailers should quit taking big, multiple preorders from people that just turn around and resell on Ebay at scalpers prices. A little respect for their loyal customers might go a long way to alleviate this issue. Good video, thanks.
I think also that people order from multiple retailers, and even those that intend to cancel the others when one comes through take a look at the waiting lists and the used prices and get a bit greedy. No wonder Fuji isn't producing enough. There's probably 3x more orders than people that actually want the camera, and the last thing it wants is hundreds sat on shelves once the scalpers realise the demand isn't really there. But what's the answer? Direct to consumer - and so control over the retail process - would alienate retailers it still needs for other products. Fuji could make warranties non-transferable if not sold by an authorised reseller. And Fuji could control the resale prices by stipulating price caps for those authorised resellers.
I have to be honest and say that I didn't warm to the Fujifilm at all and bought the Leica Q3 straight after selling the Fuji. It is what it is, but unfortunately not for me. 🇩🇪
The X100Vi is a fun camera at best. I have one and was disappointed with the lens. As to Schroodinger, unless you are taking pictures of live/dead cats, will anyone know what you are talking about?
and we'd all own a Rolex or Leica...who both artificially slow up the market to infer rarity and quality thus creating waiting lists and enabling OTT pricing for the actual quality point. Regardless of the country of manufacture.
Fujifilm helped me reinvent my photography career. Nikon is where I started. From the D90 to the D800, I learned photography on Nikon and would love to see how they’ve evolved since then.
The only solution is to buy another brand that is available costs less has better AF and if you are smart you can get nice colors with just changing the wb. I sell all my fuji gear including the 100v
The image quality can’t be better than the X100V because they both use the same lens. I expect the X100VI will get a better lens so it can resolve the sensor. Every generation of the X100 has to be improved. The obvious upgrade is the lens. Maybe the X100Vii body will be a little bigger for a bigger battery. I want IBIS so I will carry an extra battery or two. Who is going to purchase the X100VI to do video? It may do 6K but so what? Little shots? Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Agree fully that the menu system is awful. If small companies like Hasselblad and Leica can have good ones, surely Fujifilm can too. And still using that horrible old battery, the W126 is simply unconscionable. I love my X-Pro 3 but always have at least one spare battery with me. I've been using Fujifilm cameras for more than a decade now and while there have been constant improvements, it sometimes seems they aren't trying hard enough. Why haven't they updated any of the red badge lenses? The 16-55 must be nearly a decade old! 🇨🇦
To me the main benefit of the X100 series as a whole was having a relatively large format sensor photography camera with a somewhat fast lens in a compact package. Today we have full frame system cameras with compact lenses that are not much larger or heavier than the current X100 ... and they are readily available, even used options. I still have (and will keep) my original black X100. But after the X100F Fuji went a bit crazy and so did social media, I think.
@@explorer7176 But I did. So you're wrong. Facts, my dude. 😁 A Z6 is far closer to a X100 than the full frame DSLRs from yesteryear. Just take a look at that camera size comparison website and look at the fuji, a Z6 and a 5D or D700. That's my point.
Go back to Japanese root & harakiri 😂? Joking aside, I agree with all of your points. I’ve been long time fujifilm user myself, still use XT2 and X100V. But rather ‘dysfunctional’ XPro3 and uninspiring XT5 has driven me to Nikon Zf, and I can see myself with M11P sooner than and the non-existent ‘XPro 4’.

The battery vs ibis - I totally disagree. I never saw it as a problem to travel with 4-5 batteries, charging all of them in a hotel room can be annoying, but really it’s fine. The ibis, however, is one of the features I was most excited by, because I love taking photos in low light situations
I hear you. I just don’t agree. Fujifilm should do better.
4 or 5 batteries is insane. They need to upgrade the battery with the 7.
@@Amcacs5654 that’s how many I carry, but daily I will usually use 1-2, 3 if it’s a whole day shoot
I feel privileged, I only waited three weeks for mine.
I brought it as there are times when you don’t want to change lenses (dusty environment) and don’t want to risk damaging the sensor.
This was an update from my X100T and for all the faults it does bring a smile to my face when I use it.
Congrats!
Holding more than 1 opinion at the same time is impossible for 99% of the internet 😂🇺🇸
Haha, trying my best to convert some. Thanks for watching ✌🏾
Really great to see an honest review with a good balance of what this camera is great at, and what Fujifilm should improve. 🎉
Thanks for watching ✌🏾
Heart skipped a beat when you held it over the water😂 I ended up waiting 3 months for my X100VI and I like it a lot for casual jpeg shooting and it's a lot lighter than my Leica Q3 (to which I still gravitate much more). I basically divided all the specs I want in a camera over three cameras now: image quality from Leica, ease and portability from Fuji, and amazing autofocus in Sony a6700/35mm 1.4 GM. My camera bag is getting heavy😅loving all the reviews! watching from Holland🇳🇱!
Haha, thanks for watching ✌🏾
Gotta revisit Holland soon.
Hopefully sooner rather than later. Thanks for watching ✌🏾
Cr@p you’ve made me fall in love with the x100v / vi again.
Haha, it’s still a very compelling camera
🇩🇪 - the country of the red dot 😇
I own the X100VI since day one it was released, because I was lucky and my local camera store pulled some strings for me and I agree 100% what you said about the pros, but specially the cons.
Anyways like a said in previews videos, I really love your long term reviews and am curious on what kind of videos you are currently working on - and which Fuji camera will change your mind again :D
Keep rocking brother and greetings from 🇩🇪
Thank you for watching and sharing these thoughts.
That’s awesome. Enjoy the V, it’s such a phenomenal camera. Thanks for watching ✌🏾
A great video as always finally an honest opinion from someone 👍🏻👌🏻

Love your videos. I took a first generation X100 to Qatar 12 years ago and was recently reviewing the photos and they were so much better than I remember. I am a Leica user now (M10-P and M10-M) and use a Q2 the way I would use a X100. I think the resale prices that X100s command now a jump to a first gen Q would make sense for a lot of people. I am a simple armchair expert (although the "expert" part is questionable), but a long time watcher first time commenter and I appreciate your thoughtful content. Keep it up.
Truly appreciate the support Brandon 🙏🏾 Thanks for watching.
Nice! Love hearing people using and enjoying this camera for their journey. Thanks for watching ✌🏾
If this camera wasn't on back order I would've been had one. Thanks for the video bro, we appreciate all you do! 🙏🏾
Thanks for watching brother✌🏾
Great points about the menu system. Fuji can do better. It doesn't bother me because I don't need to go in them often, but it should be improved especially for this camera's audience.
Well said.
Nice to hear the smoldering critique about the production. I ordered mine Feb. 21 and just got it 2 days ago! (11/9/24)- and only after I first ordered a pro pack of Portra from the retailer. I wasn’t even set to get it until mid December! 🫣
Congrats! Enjoy the cameras, it’s still a great piece.
🇳🇱 - I discovered you since the Leica M11 monochrome first impressions video came out. I love how you tell stories while reviewing stuff or talking about photography or travel videos. So that made me binged all of your videos and made me subscribe.
I like the vi it’s a great camera BUT
It’s too expensive imho it’s a £1300 camera, that should include the weather sealing not £1700, moving production to china is a cost cutting measure, as is not including a battery charger.
Even if you want one you can’t get it, Fuji is camera company who can’t supply your camera, they are more interested in creating demand, the v was all but unavailable for 4 years, this is exactly the same.
Completely agree the battery and menus are atrocious
Real world use, Increased megapixel does not = improved image quality. very disappointed in the ibis and autofocus, my hit rate is less than with the f.
I’m living in Japan 🇯🇵 now, if you can, come experience beautiful culture and nature!
Thanks for watching ✌🏾
I love you so much! I recently just found your kislux and i’m in love!! Your videos are so fun and you energy is just MWAH! keep living your life
🇫🇮 I had X100F, then sold it and used X-Pro3 for some time, and now I am back to X100VI.
Thanks for watching all the way through. Truly appreciate the support 🙏🏾
Or just follow Canon's brilliantly intuitive UI with colour folders etc.....😎
And when you said “it’s an accessory for those who can’t or won’t…” I swore you were going to say “Find a personality” but you didn’t disappoint. 😂
Thank you for your compelling vision. Leica had the same issue with delivering the Q3, but that is no longer the case. 🇺🇸
on supply and demand, I love Ferrari's approach. Enzo famously said that their production goal is "one less than the market demands".
That’s brilliant, thanks for sharing!

🇮🇳 Absolute banger of the video about X100VI! It is tough to get hands-on in India, and the price differs greatly from the West or SEA countries. But hoping to get hands-on one piece for the love of photography and Fujifilm.
Nice. Thanks for watching ✌🏾
Yassss mine arriving soon
Really interesting and thoughtful review! My vi comes today as I’m upgrading from the v. I can only imagine that the battery life will be just as bad… I would’ve taken a *slightly* larger body to get a bigger battery 100%. I’m really looking forward to the ibis.
Do you find that the 40mp sensor is truly better for resolution? Or is there not a noticeable difference when cropping?
The resolution advantage is noticeable. How much you’ll need it will depend on how you shoot. Nonetheless, congrats! Enjoy the journey ✌🏾
Very well put, thank you
Thanks for watching ✌🏾
~Cheers 👍🏻📷
Thanks for watching ✌🏾 And hoping your pre-order arrives soon.
I agree, Fuji dropped the ball big time. Like they saw how popular the V was how did they not know this would happen?
What happened?
@@photosblossomsau1624 People who preordered the camera in February still don’t have it.
Glad to hear you got one. Enjoy the journey and thanks for watching ✌🏾
Cheers!☺
🇩🇪 Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching ✌🏾
Ach I can’t believe the stock issues with this camera- I managed to get one on launch day in Scotland after foolishly selling my Q2 for it, after getting sucked in with the VI hype. I loved the V, and got sucked in and sold the Q2. Immediately I realised my error and after trying SO hard to love, actually even like it- I sold it two weeks later and ordered a Q3.
So many issues with it, which you’ve highlighted. The fact that you can’t get it-STILL is ridiculous. And it’s not worth it when you do. If you do want an X100, get the V, or the F.
Well said.
Hello from France.. If i may ask At 0.32 the portrait photo.. Which of your fujifilm simulation recipe was used... Thanks.. Merci
That was actually with one of my capture one styles. I’ll be releasing them soon.
@@GajanBalan merci.. For taking your time to respond... Ok cool
@@GajanBalannow that's something to look forward to!
Thank you for giving them crap about the production fulfillment and their attitude.
I’m still surprised the media outlets that cover the imaging space aren’t more vocal.
bonus comment: you should go to Indonesia :)
Being my impulsive self, if there were any time in the last two years when I could have bought an X100 V (or now VI) and actually had it in my hands in a week or two, I almost certainly would have one. Maybe I ought to thank Fuji for being so bad at making this thing that I have still never bothered ordering one haha
Because of that I used to think 'oh I'll wait for the X-Pro 4 until I upgrade'. Now it's looking like they might not ever even make it lmao
Maybe I'll just go back to my old canon t3i and call it 'indie' or 'retro'
The app works fine for me when I transfer jpegs switching the frequency it’s fast with smaller files.
That’s great. But it should be better.
I am a fuji shooter myself and until now, i still don't get the hype of the x100 series. Well, maybe if they are selling for $1000 cheaper than the current market price which i personally believe to be ridiculously high for a fixed lens aps-c.
Can't understand what strap that is and you don't provide a link . . . link please.
Fujifilm cameras are great for photographers who are think before pressing that shutter button because of the slow nature of the autofocus
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
As an avid Fuji user I would say your video justified
Thanks for watching ✌🏾
I love how hard you went on the menu's.
And you know PNW dude. It's time for a roadtrip.
Long overdue for that adventure 🫠
🇩🇪 recently I got a x100vi and I really love the camera although I have a Q3. But now I have to decide which one I should give away…
Nice!
All i know is Henrys is not the place to pre order anything camera related in Canada!😢
They have literally been out of stock of basically everything for the past few years. Vistek is much better.
@@TheBawssThomas on god. When the OG r5 was available for pre order I paid in full and waited 6 months for it to come. Day 1 pre order.

🇵🇭 Was IBIS really that big of a deal or we can do without it? Btw, what's your sling bag (when you were talking about the strap.

@@brownbear100 i agree….your warranty suggestion is spot on.
The biggest problem: people want what they can't have.
If there were no "shortage", cameras wouldn't be selling so well.
Sad, but true.
and we'd all own a Rolex or Leica...who both artificially slow up the market to infer rarity and quality thus creating waiting lists and enabling OTT pricing for the actual quality point. Regardless of the country of manufacture.
I preordered on 2/21 and still haven’t received my camera 🙃
Damn, that ain’t right
Would love to hear your take on the Nikon ZF
Fujifilm helped me reinvent my photography career. Nikon is where I started. From the D90 to the D800, I learned photography on Nikon and would love to see how they’ve evolved since then.
I live in Atlanta and the camera has overheated several times on me.
Damn, that’s not good.

The only solution is to buy another brand that is available costs less has better AF and if you are smart you can get nice colors with just changing the wb. I sell all my fuji gear including the 100v
What is the point if your camera is back ordered for the past 4 months. Still no eta on my order 😢
Did you watch the video all the way through?
@@GajanBalan my bad, just watched it fully. Great review, sorry.. was quick to comment
I dont mind carrying another battery in my bag. It doesent take up too much space

Agree fully that the menu system is awful. If small companies like Hasselblad and Leica can have good ones, surely Fujifilm can too. And still using that horrible old battery, the W126 is simply unconscionable. I love my X-Pro 3 but always have at least one spare battery with me. I've been using Fujifilm cameras for more than a decade now and while there have been constant improvements, it sometimes seems they aren't trying hard enough. Why haven't they updated any of the red badge lenses? The 16-55 must be nearly a decade old! 🇨🇦
Thanks for watching and sharing ✌🏾
Update to the 16-55 due this year
To me the main benefit of the X100 series as a whole was having a relatively large format sensor photography camera with a somewhat fast lens in a compact package. Today we have full frame system cameras with compact lenses that are not much larger or heavier than the current X100 ... and they are readily available, even used options. I still have (and will keep) my original black X100. But after the X100F Fuji went a bit crazy and so did social media, I think.
@@explorer7176 Z6 with the 40mm f2 is pretty easy to put in a daily bag.
@@explorer7176 But I did. So you're wrong. Facts, my dude. 😁
A Z6 is far closer to a X100 than the full frame DSLRs from yesteryear.
