This camera line has reinvigorated my photography. It’s definitely not over hyped. I’ve been shooting with my x100v for the past 3 years and it’s easily my favorite camera. Sure it can’t do everything my Sony can do, but I wear it on me every day.
I am only part of the way through your video and I have watched tons about this camera. Yours is hand down one of the best. Excellent job and breaking the information down for a newbie!
I love everything about the X100IV , flog2 , 4k60, 6.2k30 , film simulations , ND filter . I guess no camera on the market right now that fits in the same category as being a compact camera with character
Don’t diss the built in flash. Because this line of cameras uses a leaf shutter, the flash syncs even at very high shutter speeds. It works great as a fill flash when shooting outdoors or indoors when the subject is backlit. I just set the power low and it nicely fills in my subject. Anyway, check it out. Its flash might really come in handy for you someday, once you’ve practiced with it bit.
This utility of the built-in flash, ND filter and leaf shutter are among the most unique features of the X100 series and kind of lost in the hype. I’m still shooting the original X100 and love the ability to overpower the sun with the built-in and external flashes.
Honestly love mine. I basically only use the X100VI now. The ibis + ND filter makes the difference for me. I would prefer 28mm though if I'm honest, but.. that would obviously make it bigger. Can't justify 6k for a Leica Q2/3 at the moment, but maybe some day.
I tried the x100 T a while ago. I can see why people might like such a thing, especially since Fujifilm woke up and put features in the VI that others put in their cameras for years. Titling screen - what a concept! My first problem with these cameras is that being committed to a single focal length just doesn't work for me. Besides being more of a 28mm shooter, I use different lenses for different purposes (28, 50, 85). I just don't have the coin to have a separate camera for each focal length. The other problem is that without all the film simulations, it'd lose a lot of appeal. I don't use film simulations because, when I'm super serious (that is, I'm not just firing snapshots), I would never rely on jpg. Just me and maybe no one here cares to hear from a Fujifilm denier.
As a X100VI in kinda sad that the autofocus is terrible even coming from a Sony a6100, went on a trip to Europe last week and when I got to check the pictures taken of my friends and brother i found out that at least 1/3 of the photos were not in focus.
Did you do the « recent » firmware upgrade ? Didn’t do it myself yet but apparently it improves the AF. On my side, I won’t say that I’m impressed with the AF but I barely have issues. I’m on BOOST mode, AF-C 90% of the time.
I haven't had any trouble with the AF - at least nothing that bad. I usually use single point AF though as I find wider or zone af to be to unreliable. Hope that helps.
I ordered one of these, and cancelled it after two months. Once I was told it would be at least eight more months. I bought a new Canon R5 instead. I might (but probably will not) order one again once Fuji figures out how meet customer demand. It’s actually pretty amazing how unprepared they were for this considering the mk V had the same problem.
It's a fantastic camera - I have been on the list since february as well. I have an X-T5 but I want to buy big bulky lenses for it and have the X100VI as a compact daily and hopefully inspire my partner to shoot with me.
Thanks for this review! I have the camera in use now for almost 3 months quite intensively and must admit it's the best small camera on the market! What bothers me sometimes is the less decisive behaviour of the AF-C focus mode.I had a Leica Q2 for a while and sold it because the AF was very bad and the ergonomics a nightmare (even with thumb) rest and just too heavy for street. For real action I have my sony cameras in use (a9iii and a1)
Thats so crazy, the way you got the camera! My plan was to go and look for camera shops when I go to Rome and Florence in October . BUT my camera shipped today!!! So now I have to update myself on what I actually bought and see if people are still happy with it 😂.
Good morning, congratulations for the review and for your UA-cam channel. I have a question for you about the Fujifilm x100VI: to switch from photo to video mode you have to act on the rear menu (LCD) by manually setting the mode, but wanting to set any button as the REC button, while in photo mode for convenience and operational speed , does pressing the latter record with the same settings assigned for the video mode? I'm asking you because I did this test and by pressing the button dedicated to video recording on the screen the video starts recording but without any information regarding FPS and more. Thanks in advance for the reply
Ha, exactly the same with me. 25,000 shutter count means it was money well spent. I always carry it. The upgrade from the 5 was worth the upgrade for me. Just getting setup with Davinci to exploit the video. Random thing; the iso 64 seems like the one to go for but 125 seems to turn out nicer images for me. Not sure why.
Might be because ISO 125 is the native lowest iso of the sensor, whereas anything lower is simulated with post processing. Wasn’t even aware you could select anything lower than 125 on this sensor! (Coming from an X-T5)
@@gkampolis Initially I was shooting in 64 all the time - thinking it would be the cleanest. Took me a while to spot the 125 were better, blaming the new fancy big sensor. 64 has its moments though....used together with the nd filter etc. Native ISO.....I'll need to go and do some digging on that one. Puzzle solved, thanks.
@@gkampolis I have ISO assigned to the thumb dial which gives access to wider settings down to 64 iso. True the iso dial on the top of the camera stops at 125 - but my setup with the thumb dial gives me more stops - so useful at times. I normally set the iso on the top dial to 125 - only change it when necessary. Hell this camera is nice because it has so many options.
@@TobermoryCat That’s neat! I tend to shoot with manual aperture and shutter speed and Auto ISO (with upper limit and using exposure compensation to influence it) One of the best things with Fuji lenses that have aperture rings is assigning both ISO and shutter speed to dials and having direct access to the exposure triangle. That said, I found it takes a moment (for me) to adjust all three parameters in street situations, so I opted to delegate ISO to the camera. Pretty decent files (especially for B&W) all the way up to 3200, and up to 6400 for night time shooting.
Ordered mine on announcement, received it at the end of may.... today im packaging it up to sell it off, theres SO many things in it that piss me off, like i love the look, i like the shutter, its a beautiful sensor... but theres so many menu items that, and this is coming from a sony user who is used to a spotty interface, is just bloody awful. Why does setting it to person AF immediately stop me setting the metering? why do i have to set 3 settings to change from animal to human? and then... ultimately i've a load of sony lenses and 2 sony cameras, having this completely different setup ends up being just an extra complication I don't need, SO going back to my a7IV, trading the a6700 in with the fuji and getting the a7cr as a small compact camera that also works as a hiking kit and second camera 👍👍 After a few months use all i can think is if i was already a fuji shooter the platform would be fine, but id want an xt5 or an xs20. But as a sony shooter its so over hyped, it doesn't add anything for me i cant already get in the platform i'm already on.
All it takes is 30 mins to set up the buttons - especially the Q button. It takes a bit of patience. Alternatively, you could have just set it to AE exposure (or even P), Reala Ace and clicked away. I don't think the TikTok crew use it any other way. The menu system is quite complex because it does far more bespoke set up than most other cameras....
This camera isn't really an upgrade over anything. It's more a shooting philosophy. It's compact, feels great in hand, has strong ergonomics and is just very pleasant to use overall. It's perfect for street and travel as long as you're okay shooting with a fixed focal length. You can carry it everywhere without second thought. I just wouldn't trade my x100v for anything else, cause it's just great for what I like to shoot. Mostly it allows me to forget the camera and focus on the pictures. It's also quite unassuming which for street is a clear benefit.
Thanks for this. After owning the Q2 and the x100v I am going back to taking my Sony A7R3 on trips. The AF, metering, highlight retainment and pictures are always perfect. I may get that 24-50 2.8 lens and call it a day!!
I have only ever heard good things about the 24-50mm 2.8 from Sony. Seems to be a new fan favorite among Sony users. I'd love to give it a try some time. Sadly my Tamron 20-40mm f/2.8 doesn't work as well, even though its similar in size and range. It is great for video (small, lightweight, fast af) but there is a good amount of barrel distortion that is very noticeable in photos.
Tilt screen, not a flip screen. 'Flip screen' now means a screen that 'flips' out to the side and and also rotates forward. You know, a screen for video and also vlogging (taking videos of yourself) - something the TikTok crowd loves to do for some odd reason.
I cancelled my pre order and got a Sony A6700 instead as it was delayed several times. I have seen the VI available on a grey camera website for €2000! Not paying that for this 😂
Thank you for your review. I got mine pretty fast too, March 21st it was. I still think it’s an expensive toy camera. I do have a Q2 too. So there you have it. What annoys me is the halfway shutter release button response. It’s too sensitive. Before you know you make another photo. battery life sucks. Where do you get those pretty looking neck- and wrist straps? The brown leather ones I mean.
Thank you. I would like to have this besides my Sony Nex 5R + several lenses. But as long as nothing is available nowhere from Fuji I certainly do not invest 2000 euros into a system that causes struggles at all ends with delivery. If they cannot produce what their labs come up with, they are not reliable.
The possibility of delivering an item also depends on how many units are produced, for example per day, and if not as many are produced per days it is very easy to create hype, and it annoys me a little that we don't get to know anything about this when it comes to the Fujifilm X100VI 🙄
Agree with everything you said! Personally for me, IBIS isn’t important. Really wish they gave us the newer battery and a faster lens. I feel like that would have won me over. In full frame terms, that’s lens is a 35mm F3.. so I feel it kinda limits my ability to execute certain images I want to create. Sometimes I just want that full frame super creamy separation. I think the only hope we have for this now, is a GFX version. But I have a feeling they might go with a modern design sadly.
Nope it is 35mm F2 equivalent and IBIS is brilliant. I used it down some caves in China and the images are brilliant (aided by the lighting set ups in the caves). ND works really well too. I used it to get the 'flow' effect on some waterfalls - again this needs to work alongside IBIS to maximum quality.
@@andrewcrossley2448 the lens on the X100VI says 23mm F2… so when converting it to full frame terms.. you think the focal length changes but not the aperture? Do some more research bro bro.
@@cammackey thought I’d logged the answer to this. With an APSC cropped sensor the Fuji X100VI f2 gives exactly the same perspective and light transmission as a FF 35mm F2 but if you could (in theory) take the lens off the Fuji and stick it on an FF camera it would only fill the centre part of the frame. This is also why sports photographers sometimes prefer smaller sensor cameras to give greater magnification factors. Hence if I stick my 300mm f4 FF lens onto my Canon 7D I get the equivalent of a 480mm f4 image. DOF is different though. Hence the new R7 is very popular with wildlife photographers using long EF lenses using the required converter. I’ve been photographing from aged 8 and now am 65 and use all formats from 6x9 film even down to iPhones… I think I know my tools…. If I take my CanonEF FF 50mm f1.8 and stick it on my 7D APSC, sure enough it tells me 50x1.6 crop factor = 80mm but remains at f1.8. The magnification aspect is to do with the smaller sensor being nearer to the rear lens element. Hence canon APSC has a white and red dot to align DSLR lens mounts but FF only red. Sticking an ASPC lens onto a FF is a no no …..damages mirrors and lenses. I also believe that the Fuji tele converter for the X series boosts to 50mm ish APSC but emulates about 70mm FF whilst keeping f2. That’s why is a big lump of glass. On the same theme why my 32mm f1.4 EOSM lens is close to 50mm f1.4 in imaging on EOSM5 APSC and why my 50mm EF 1.8 via the mount adapter tells me 80mm f1.8…….etc.
@@andrewcrossley2448 I’m not going to read all of this. In terms of focal length and background to subject separation.. both get multiplied by the factor of the crop. So a 23mm F2 will match the equivalent of a 35mm F3 on full frame. Not in terms of light transmission. But again, focal length and separation. But, Fuji cheats their ISOs as well so 800 iso ok a Fuji camera will always be darker then 800 on any other camera that’s not Fuji. So idk what they’re doing there…
There are 2 digital zoom modes 50mm and 70mm equivalent with proportional drop of in image size like with the Q2/3. For most people this is going to cover 90% of their needs. The optical teleconverter gets you a bit more 'zoom' but does have minor distortions. XT50 with the newest Fuji standard zoom is a very good alternative but much larger.
I don't use the digital zoom, but I do have the TCL (just released a video about it). I have used the XT30 for years and I love that camera. However, I don't have any plans to buy another interchangeable lens camera from Fuji anytime soon as I have switched to a Sony a7 IV about 2 years ago. If I want something smaller with an interchangeable lens, I would most likely just by a a7c II. ;)
I dont think this camera is terrible but WAY overpriced, especially if you buy from a flipper. Its a good $1000 camera but not a good $2000-$2500 camera as I have seen them listed and sell for.
I think they could have made this a $1,000 camera if they used a traditional EVF, instead of the OVF/EVF/ERF hybrid, used plastic instead of milled/stamped aluminum and removed the ND filter. All of those things make the camera much more expensive to produce and assemble. I’d rather they leave those things in and charge the price it cost.
@@I922sParkCir all those things are more expensive but they are the specificities of the X100 series. At the end what is the remaining specific feature that you would like to keep ? Fixed 23mm pancake lens ?
@@diego750 not at all. If I’m going to spend that much on camera gear, it needs to make me money. I’m a professional Sony shooter, and the X100 is just a camera that I can always have with me that’s really enjoyable to shoot. It’s like a Miata of cameras. Miata owners down buy a Miata’s because they can’t afford a 911, they have them because they are really fun.
I wanted this camera since it was released. It was impossible to get it for a long time, but I lucked out recently. Electronics is more expensive in Poland than in Germany. MSRP was $2,088 USD here (8500 PLN). I paid like 2200 USD. Is it a cool camera? Yeah it is. But I think it’s WAYYYY overpriced and I feel like a moron for buying it. But it really makes me shoot more, I take it everywhere.
I sold my TCL after a few days. Bokeh is a bit nicer than digital crop, but the trade off was not worth it for me. Camera got too big and heavy and it made the whole Point of the camera ad absurdum. For the x100vi the digital crop works almost as nice as the tcl, but I guess for video and raws the tcl might be a good add on :) my only critic is the autofocus. It is not snappy at all. Compared to my xh2, this AF speed really isnt that good and sometimes it can take a second or two for the AF to focus. At least the AF subject detection works great
I like the TCL (just released a video about it), but I also agree with all of your reasons for selling it. The Bokeh still leaves a lot to be desired and it makes the camera a lot bigger. However, I think its nice to be able to shoot at 50mm (equiv) while using the full sensor. And its still not bigger than my Leica Q2. All a matter of taste and preference I guess. :)
It’s way too overpriced. I hate how broken the market for Fuji is. They are my second camera system next to Nikon and this camera is WAY too close to the price of my Nikon ZF.
Well, I tried it a few days ago at a friend. But well, for the money, I take the new dlux 8 from leica. But of course, it all depends on personal demands and needs. I don‘t like the small an fiddly buttons an controls. The typical sleek and easy menu from leica is an important point for me and feels much better for me.
@@andrewcrossley2448hm, true, but the pixelpitch should be better and for travel a zoom might be usefull. But overall, the fuji seems more powerfull, of course. But the dlux design is more appealing to me.😂
Just received a Fuji loaner x100 - no filter, no filter attachment ring and no hood in the box. Hate taking a 'naked' lens out and about - so disapointed as I fear what might happen and the possible costs to me - NOT impressed Fuji.
I am surprised to learn about not he IBIS shake however i am another one that’s waiting on wait list for thinks informative video than you. Hoop the uk gets some supplies from China soon.
I got the X100vi to be a EDC when I don't want to drag my GFX 50r around. Nice camera, but the biggest disappoint for me is that the 40MP sensor is just marketing BS. Resolution pixel peeping shows that it is more like a 24MP camera, but what surprised me is that the lens is only sharp corner-to-corner from f/4-f/8(maybe f/11). For a fixed lens camera this is BAD. Again this is extreme pixel-peeping from a landscape photographer. Obviously the lens is not up to the task of taking advantage of the sensor resolution. Too bad, because if it was better then it would compete more closely with the Leica Q2 or Q3. My Sigma DP2 Merrill (14 years old!!) blows X100vi out of water in regards to image resolution and sharpness. So image quality is good, but not excellent. And too much hype about film simulations. Anyways, I like the camera (especially the IBIS and the ND filter) and will be mainly using it to record video when recording high quality soundscapes with an external recorder and as a small travel camera. For photography I will always reach for my GFX 50r. So overall a very nice camera, but surprising mediocre image quality for a camera of this price. It could have been so much more. Upgrade the lens Fuji!!!!!
I have used mine since 2020 and haven't noticed any difference compared to my OEM Fuji batteries (also got a few of those). Neither are great by the way.
I can’t believe somebody can go to the trouble to make a video like this and not realize the sensor size. It’s 40 not 45 megapixels. You say 45 megapixels over and over.
I don't see the point. Sony RX100 VII is smaller and has versatile zoom lens for when going into nature, adventuring. People have been duped into thinking they need a big sensor for showing photos on a computer screen.
Sony is very tiny and not water resistant. I looked at one. Nice images but not in the same league. Images on computer screens are best served by the superb iPhone 15 pro max.....
@@andrewcrossley2448 I have an Iphone 15 Pro. It is no replacement for an actual camera because of the overdone HDR and oversharpening. Images don’t have the natural look and gradations of a dedicated camera, especially in less than ideal light where you get the same obvious HDR tone mapping. Shooting RAW is not a solution with the iPhone because ProRAW still does a lot of postprocessing, but the limitations of the tiny lens and sensor become very obvious without the AI tricks. It’s the whole reason I splurged on the RX100 recently. That long reach zoom is very nice too. Don’t get me wrong the iPhone 15 pro cameras are amazing for a phone and I still take most of my daily shots with it.
I agree. Sony RX100 series are great go anywhere cameras. I always take one or two for travel. When I need more I break out the full frame gear depending on the trip. I like the Fuji and would consider if it was interchangeable or a more versatile lens. As is too much of a one trick pony
These MFers at Fuji didn't want to make money. Cuz if they really did they would have had enough supply for everyone to have a camera and the price could have been lower since they would have made it up. However, I've ordered it 2 weeks after it coming out at B&h and I'm still waiting for it F them out of business.
I ordered on the morning that it was available and I waited over three months and finally canceled the order and bought a Rico GR and couldn’t be happier. As a fuji user for over eight years I was just a bit disappointed to the point it made me rethink my XT5 purchase and I have since sold my XT 4 and bought into Sony and started transitioning to their line.
Still waiting for my pre-ordered unit since February and always contemplating if I should cancel it or not. Great camera I'm sure but disappointing Fujifilm order management. Great video and overall review.
Honestly I am not sure if any camera could be worth such a long wait. But hey, I hope you get yours soon and that you will get a ton of enjoyment out of it! :)
Finally received my pre-order unit, after 10months of waiting. The excitement has passed but I still like the camera, gonna let go of my x100f and will keep the x100vi.
Had one at launch after selling my Q2, sold it two weeks later and got a Q3. It’s such an overhyped camera, yes it’s great but not worth the hype and demand in anyway whatsoever. Ps Tobis, the Q3’s flip screen is absolutely great and there’s zero issues with it- don’t even notice it now when in, and it’s so great to use when you need it .
I own 3 batteries so battery life is not bad… I accidentally change the exposure compensation and accidentally turn the camera on putting it in my Peak Design bag all the time though.
It's a great camera, but yes, completely overhyped IMO. I got one after 2-3 months of waiting and put a bit of work on it. Nice little thing but not small enough to be truly "pocketable" and not big enough to have customization/lens changes. Performance isn't anything really special aside from the film simulations which are the best part about it. I wish they had updated the battery and the lens. It feels more like a 5.5 iteration rather than a 6. I eventually decided to sell mine(at a premium) and use the same amount of money to get the Nikon XF + 40mm kit and I haven't looked back. Scratches the same retro itch and has drastically better performance. And not that much larger. It's great.
@@NayveYT No, I bought it because I thought it would be a good "all around" every day camera. And it's fine, just not what I was looking for. I either want my cameras full sized and feature filled, or actually pocketable like a Ricoh GR(which btw does a better job of being portable and has comparable JPG quality if you're into that.)
@@DCAMM720 yes I tried the Ricoh and it’s great for the size. But I prefer the 23mm focal length, EVF/OVF, build quality. But indeed GRIII is really pocketable.
To me the most important thing is that images are sharp and in focus. Nothing beats Sony on that front. Gimmicky simulations don’t make the image sharp, nor do the external manual controls. For a piece of equipment priced north of $1600 not to have great auto focus in this day and age… it’s insane
Sony is definitely the new 'great pretender' but still rarely the all round pro's kit (except for wedding and some portrait work where it is making inroads). Just look at the Paris Olympics. Canon R and DSLR about 70%, Sony about 15%, Nikon about 15%. There is a reason why Canon is most pro's first choice. Some of my Canon L lenses are 30+ years old, still razor sharp and water proof. They are all metal, including the insides.... They also all work on my 30+ year old (still working) EOS1 film camera. That was probably the best SLR camera ever made - build, user interface, motor drive on etc. Think it gave me 1 incorrect exposure per 1000 shots even on fussy Fuji Provia and Velvia slide film. Unfortunately slide film is now so expensive it's for specialist use. If I were to upgrade, it would be for a R5 mk 2 but I don't shoot sports or birds so not really needed. I guess it depends on your lens kit investment. On the Fuji X100VI - just been looking at 1000+ shots taken over 2 weeks in China. About 2% out of focus and my fault for trying it at extreme conditions. Rest pin sharp. Night shots from the river (on a boat too) in Shanghai are astonishing. I guess it's the user not the tool?
@@andrewcrossley2448 I’ve never shot with a Fuji, so the only thing I can go with is the complaints from photographers that use it… maybe they are, as you imply, not good enough… I have a canon as well and you are not going to get any complaints from me on that front… That said, my comment has nothing to do with Canon and everything to do with the overhyped Fuji X-100Vi
@@Anónimodesinteresado understand. In context the whole Fuji camera cost less than one of my Canon L lenses. For its tech it’s not overpriced. It’s a semi pro and/or backup tool really. I love its all metal, has a great and very sharp lens. Add in great IBIS, large sensor and useful ND and it packs a punch. Not cheap but quality never is. My iPhone 15 pro max wasn’t much less (big memory in that).

A bit of advice: 1) Blasting that deafeningly loud intro music at the beginning then dropping down to normal volumes for the rest of the video is irritating and makes people not even want to watch your video. 2) Don't make up names for cameras. NOBODY calls the X100F the X100 Four or the X100V the X100 Five. Nobody knows what you are talking about when you arbitrarily make up names for well known products that only you understand. Just use the official names and there will be no confusion.
I sent my X100VI back. Keeping my Q3.........Too slow autofocusing, shitty same old battery, shitty joystick with no d-pad, and made in China. It's still a great camera but now its way overpriced for a camera that was rushed out to keep up with the demand. I still think the X100F was the best one and I have tried the past 4. Great video.......cheers.

I stand corrected. Cheers!
This camera line has reinvigorated my photography. It’s definitely not over hyped. I’ve been shooting with my x100v for the past 3 years and it’s easily my favorite camera. Sure it can’t do everything my Sony can do, but I wear it on me every day.

This utility of the built-in flash, ND filter and leaf shutter are among the most unique features of the X100 series and kind of lost in the hype. I’m still shooting the original X100 and love the ability to overpower the sun with the built-in and external flashes.

It’s actually pretty amazing how unprepared they were for this considering the mk V had the same problem.
They're are doing it on purpose. This is a part of their business model based on hype and lack of supply.
It's a fantastic camera - I have been on the list since february as well. I have an X-T5 but I want to buy big bulky lenses for it and have the X100VI as a compact daily and hopefully inspire my partner to shoot with me.
How can Fuji still not be caught up on production of the x100vi? They’ve been sold out for nearly a year straight.
Still going to look at the XT-50.
“You Fucking What Mate”?!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great review. Brilliantly delivered. Thanks 🙏
That “ you fukin what mate?!” At about 7 7:30 had me rolling 😂
what filter and lens hood do you have on oyur x100vi?
Got mine a couple days ago. Upgraded from V to VI. Need to get used to the new AF system. Overall I am very pleased. Waiting now for the X-Pro5! 😉
So you can lick it as well ? :)
I would definitively add the Nikon Zf with the 40mm f2.0
Hi Tobi, very informative and well structured video! Nice examples great english speaking. well done. Dirk
Cheers mate! :)
The front and back dials are not FULLY customizable…which was disappointing for me
Ha, exactly the same with me.
Interesting point regarding the ISO. thanks for the heads up!
I tend to shoot with manual aperture and shutter speed and Auto ISO (with upper limit and using exposure compensation to influence it)
One of the best things with Fuji lenses that have aperture rings is assigning both ISO and shutter speed to dials and having direct access to the exposure triangle. That said, I found it takes a moment (for me) to adjust all three parameters in street situations, so I opted to delegate ISO to the camera. Pretty decent files (especially for B&W) all the way up to 3200, and up to 6400 for night time shooting.
I think the lens hood you have is a Leica (?)..can you share the item model? Thank you
I think it's a Squarehood.
Mine is a knock off from Amazon actually. The squarehood version was sold out when I bought mine. Works the same though. :)
Why does setting it to person AF immediately stop me setting the metering? why do i have to set 3 settings to change from animal to human? and then... ultimately i've a load of sony lenses and 2 sony cameras, having this completely different setup ends up being just an extra complication I don't need, SO going back to my a7IV, trading the a6700 in with the fuji and getting the a7cr as a small compact camera that also works as a hiking kit and second camera 👍👍
After a few months use all i can think is if i was already a fuji shooter the platform would be fine, but id want an xt5 or an xs20.
Why buy this over xh2s?
@@TobisTings Do Lightroom lens profiles help with the 20-40 distortion?
Tilt screen, not a flip screen.
'Flip screen' now means a screen that 'flips' out to the side and and also rotates forward. You know, a screen for video and also vlogging (taking videos of yourself) - something the TikTok crowd loves to do for some odd reason.
I cancelled my pre order and got a Sony A6700 instead as it was delayed several times. I have seen the VI available on a grey camera website for €2000! Not paying that for this 😂
Gonna have to fly to Timbuktu 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔Wait! Is there even a camera shop there....
So its been relegated to henchman #2 after just 4 months and all of the hype despite added convenience.
Curious to know what you think of the GR III, compared to the Q2 and X100 series, for an EDC or travel camera....
A bought my neck strap in a store called "manufactum" here in germany. Sadly I don't think its available anywhere else...
@@TobisTings Thank you for letting me know. No, they don’t ship to the USA unfortunately.
The Q2 doesn’t have IBIS. It has an OIS lens. Check the specs for yourself.
True, thanks for the correction!
I have one. There is no manual focus that works nor the rangefinder focus squares so I find the rangefinder feature a joke.
So idk what they’re doing there…
@@andrewcrossley2448 you assumed. But cool haha. I love the internet.
What do you think of the zoom? Because you can’t change lenses I think I should buy the xt50…
I disagree, the X100 series is a work of art and deserves it’s position in the market . People on ebay are selling with a higher price
It's still just a retro inspired fake rf camera for people who can't afford Leica. 1k max.
Outstanding!
Dlux 8 - smaller sensor, lower resolution but a great holiday option. Fuji is easy to use when you set up the Q buttons.
Complaining about getting a free camera?
I am surprised to learn about not he IBIS shake however i am another one that’s waiting on wait list for thinks
informative video than you.
The generic fuji batteries don’t last long. Just get OEM.
Yep - definitely had 300 + shots out of a Fuji on full charge.
@@andrewcrossley2448 I mean the generic brands will work for a few months and then crap out.
Believe me there is nothing new at the end of the day they are all the same camera in different colour palette the bad news is way over too pricey
As a fuji user for over eight years I was just a bit disappointed to the point it made me rethink my XT5 purchase and I have since sold my XT 4 and bought into Sony and started transitioning to their line.
review be like: amazing camera, no issues, but I still use Leica😂
Overhyped if you’re comparing it to a leica q2.
In all fairness though: The Q2 got a good bit of hype to though just a 1-2 years ago.
This camera is probably why we will never get a X-pro4
Still waiting for my pre-ordered unit since February and always contemplating if I should cancel it or not. Great camera I'm sure but disappointing Fujifilm order management. Great video and overall review.
Honestly I am not sure if any camera could be worth such a long wait. But hey, I hope you get yours soon and that you will get a ton of enjoyment out of it! :)
Finally received my pre-order unit, after 10months of waiting. The excitement has passed but I still like the camera, gonna let go of my x100f and will keep the x100vi.
Does it have Eye AF ?
Yes. You can google this as well
Yes it does :)
Yeah I also accidentally turn the exposure comp wheel all the time. Super annoying.
Overhyped -- yes !!
It's great.
So basically you bought it because of the hype ? :)
@@andrewcrossley2448 I’ve never shot with a Fuji, so the only thing I can go with is the complaints from photographers that use it… maybe they are, as you imply, not good enough… I have a canon as well and you are not going to get any complaints from me on that front…
That said, my comment has nothing to do with Canon and everything to do with the overhyped Fuji X-100Vi
A bit of advice:
1) Blasting that deafeningly loud intro music at the beginning then dropping down to normal volumes for the rest of the video is irritating and makes people not even want to watch your video.
Overhyped. For sure. Without any doubt.
Have you got and tried one? Or just sounding off?
Overhyped + overpriced
