I live in a tiny house but have been struggling so much for the past several months. You are inspiring me to accept me and do what I can each day. Keep doing what you're doing.

You have made me feel a great deal better about myself and how I clean (or don't....). That has helped motivate me so much! You are a wonderful young woman and an awesome Mum! Hello Remi, i just discovered your channel. You're very sweet and down to earth. I clean my microwave by putting a bowl of water with a little vinegar in it and turning it on for 5 minutes. The steam helps loosen the splatters. You just have to wipe the area then. There's no need to scrub. Please try it next time. Lots of love from Canada.😊

I just found your channel today and I am ENCHANTED ---your humor, your positive attitude, it's lovely and exactly what we need in a world that seems more negative every day. I am sure someone else has already told you this, but it's something I didn't know either the first time I went to clean my microwave. If you just put a cup of water --or white vinegar ---in your microwave and turn it on for about five minutes, then let it set for a few minutes to really build up steam, the food and yuck will just wipe off with barely any effort on your part and no soap or chemicals. Just be careful not to burn yourself ( like I may have once or twice ) on the water/vinegar because it will be HOT. If vinegar, I get more use out of it and pour it down the sink after some baking soda to freshen that up, too. THANK YOU and take care and I can't wait to watch more!

Remi, I just found your videos today. I love your accent. My grandparents lived in England before they came to America. I'm also a messy person by nature, but I dream of being a neat freak. I used to be so ashamed of someone coming over to my house with the house messy. I have some neighbors whose houses are always neat and tidy and I used to compare myself with them. I'm learning to accept myself as who God has made me to be. Showing love to those around me is really more important than having an immaculate house. I love to watch people with their cleaning procedures and learn something from them. As you said in this video, "Life is so short." I just hope I can be a blessing to those people I see. God bless you, Remi, and your family!!!

You have a lot on your plate and you’re doing the best you can. You’re prioritising your kids over house chores and time with kids is vital as they grow so quick. Most of us regret not doing more with our children because we were forever stressing over having a showroom home. I hope everything gets easier for you in time so that you can upload more frequently. Loving the voice overs. All the best!

Hi Remi! 💛 You mention at the end of this video that you have trouble with mirrors. If it’s gummy or greasy use a bit of dish soap and water with your scrub daddy. After you remove all of the soap, just use your microfibre cloth to rub it with with a bit of water and it will be streak free! I like to make up my own DIY multi purpose spray with water and rubbing alcohol, drop of a good degreaser dish soap. The alcohol really makes the glass shine! 😊

I just wanted to say that I really like your content. My house used to get so overwhelming like this when I was in my 20s. And it would have been sooooo very helpful to have your videos to watch. Your joyous spirit flows through your words and I know you are helping many out there who struggles emotionally with this.
I also wanted to mention that how I finally was able to overcome the the massive clutter was just to get rid of things. Just purging and decluttering constantly. And I still am doing this at least once a month.
Also to answer your question about the microwave. We don’t have one. 😂 that’s one thing we purged in our decluttering. It’s been gone for about 2 years ago and have not missed it once!

I'm naturally a messy person and really struggle to keep my house tidy. The other day I tried doing what you did in another video where you start a short list of things that are a priority then added as you went along until you ran out of time. It made it like a game and I actually enjoyed doing the jobs so I could tick them off my list. I'm one of those people who love lists lol.

You are a great and brilliant lady. Besides motivation, you also offer very thoughtful comments. I used to hate cleaning the microwave until I found a very easy way to do it in a few seconds. I fill a small bowl with water, then add some lemon juice AND half a lemon. Microwave it for three minutes. Take out the bowl and just wipe with a damp cloth. It will be spotlessly clean in a couple of seconds, and you don’t have to use elbow grease.

New to your channel, what a joy you are. I am also a life time messy person who gets side tracked very easily. Without reading all old comments to see if it has been mentioned before, if you boil a cup of water and some lemon juice or vinegar in the microwave and let it sit for a few minutes the steam will soften all the crud and make it much easier to clean, plus it smells good too.

I wish your channel was around when I was a young mom. I was so overwhelmed and our house was a disaster. I’ve learned so much from Flylady and Clutterbug and channels like yours over the years. Our house now stays pretty tidy, but that’s mostly because my kids are now much older and don’t make constant messes. I now clean our microwave about once a week, or whenever I do the stove that’s right underneath of it. I microwave a bowl of water with lemon juice in it for about 30 seconds, then it’s very easy to wipe it down because of the steam the water makes.

I have a microwave cleaning tip for you. I take a paper towel or 2 and get the very wet. I take out the plate to wash like you did. Put the paper towel in the center and set it for 30 seconds. Let it sit in there for 2 minutes or so (just enough time to wash the plate). Open the microwave and spray your cleaner all over and start wiping it out. Comes off like a dream, not stuck on anymore because you essentially steamed it off. Hope that helps.

Hello Remi. I used to have problems with cleaning glass/ mirrors as well but my Grandma taught me to use newspaper instead of paper towels, rags, sponges, etc. Once you've sprayed the glass with the cleaner, you just scrub it clean with a piece of newspaper and then use a dry piece (scrunch it up like when you ball up a piece of paper you're going to throw out) to wipe it down/ dry it off. I just thought I'd share this with you. I hope you have a lovely day.

Oh, about yellow and kitchens - it's the perfect colour for a kitchen I think! And if you love sunflowers, I'd paint the walls a less bright kind of yellow, not quite pastel. Something called Buttermilk might be nice - it's not too in your face. And then the sunflowers would be like this glorious pop of sunshine in a misty yellow dawn. That would be brilliant! I think various shades of yellow have cheered me up all my life. You can't be sad or depressed if you see a colour that warms your heart.

Remi - a liitle tip for you about cleaning mirrors and windows that's incredibly simple and really effective - put a couple of tablespoonfuls of vinegar (white or brown) into clean water and use that to scrub the glass with a J cloth or clean sponge. It will get it really clean in no time and you won't need anything else, such as detergent etc. Then, go over the glass with a clean dry cloth to get the remaining water off and polish it up. I promise you - no smears and you'll get it done in a fraction of the time. I got this from an older lady regarding cleaning my windows and it was a real game changer. Thanks so much for these wonderful videos. I love your wisdom, humility and kindness. It's much needed!

When cleaning windows, wipe the inside in one direction and the outside in another direction. That way, you know which side the streaks are on. It's just the getting around to it in the first place that is the hard part....😄

Hi Remi Loving your videos. Im such a messy person and get overwhelmed (in so much pain and waiting for an operation) because sometimes I cant bend or stand for too long. You really give me the motivation to do small tasks and value that. Was thinking you could maybe fit one of those wooden file boxes down the side of your microwave so when you stash things it wont irritate you so much . Once again thanks ❤😊

Hi Remi, you are the most genuine person, I love your videos! One tip, put a microwave safe bowl in the microwave with some lemon or cleaner or disinfectant and fill halfway with water, microwave for three or four minutes and then leave the door closed and the steam with soften all the gunk and just wipe it away, try it, it really works. all the very best to you, Jane. 😊

My microwave gets cleaned once a month unless I notice it's gross before then. That being said however....I have a rule that a napkin goes over the food before it gets microwaved, and teenagers that do that. So it doesn't usually get too bad. I'm new here. I really love that you do voice over instead of music. I had to stop watching other cleaning videos because the music tends to trigger really painful memories that I just don't want to think about. Thanks for being chatty.

I love your videos. I’m so glad I found you. My kids are grown so I don’t have the same issues as you but I can well remember when laundry was out of control, I had to use cloth diapers because I couldn’t afford pampers. I had a 90 year old lady tell me that she keeps her vacuum plugged in at the front door and if someone comes over she tells them to forgive the mess, she was about to run the vacuum! Keep that in mind. Just saying. 😉 Anyway, hello from Arkansas, USA.

    Ooooh microwave cleaning hack!
Half a cup of water mixed with half a cup white vinegar. Microwave it for 1 minute. The steam from that makes the gunk wipe right off!
In one of your shorts you said something about wondering why you couldn’t keep up with tidying when other people did it so easily-- this is how I feel every single day.

I’m so glad I found your channel. All the things I struggle with YOU struggle with and it makes me feel better. I have always wanted a dishwasher because when I was married to my kids father even though I worked full time I was the only one who cooked and cleaned so the only one who washed dishes. It was also my childhood chore so I was sick of it before I even had kids lol I remember telling my ex I wanted a dishwasher when my eldest was 3 and he said but mummy you ARE the dishwasher. I think he thought I was getting a pet person to wash the dishes 😂😂😂. Anyway not surprisingly I ended off a single mum a couple of years after my middle son was diagnosed with autism and my baby girl was almost 3. I of course couldn’t afford a dishwasher and I rent so finally a couple of years ago my now hubby got me one at tax time. I love it and i she’s are no longer the bane of my existence now it’s folding 😂😂😂. I used to reward myself with pretty home decor as a reward for keeping a space clean for a certain length of time😂. It’s a struggle. It’s fine once I get started and I have found your videos so motivational because my house gets so messy so quick. My microwave is on a shelf above my eye level so it’s lucky to get cleaned once a month because I can’t see the mess until it’s literally covered 😶

We’ve had our microwave almost 7years. I can honestly say I’ve cleaned it no more than 4 times. Tbh we don’t use it a great deal but it’s only after watching you I even thought about cleaning it. We always cover anything we heat and mostly it’s porridge and used for plate warming. I’ll clean it tomorrow 😊😂😂

Tip: put vinegar & some water in a bowl up let it rotate around for 3-5 minutes; depending how bad microwave is… my gets pretty bad. It will loosen dirt and grime makes clean up easy.
I watch twice to make sure I wasn’t wrong; don’t forget the top of the inside. It gets pretty nasty and harder to clean later.
A toothbrush will get the tiny hard to reach cracks in the microwave door as will as the refrigerator door and hard to get to tiny places.
    I love your channel.

You may have heard of this by now but I wanted to mention it just in case… I heard a professional organizer recommend to keep a tall narrow basket on your kitchen counter (perhaps beside your microwave since that’s the area you gravitate to)that is a catchall for random things. The benefit is that you don’t have to see the stuff and you can go through the basket whenever you’re ready.

I agree with your mentality around spending time with your children before you know it they will be grown and gone so you can have a tidy house then ( until grandchildren turn up !) there is a saying that real mums don’t make jam …… I subscribed to that philosophy
Thank you for showing what a real home is like.
    Sending you love xx

Hi, Remi, a great tip use your window cleaner spray, use a microfiber cloth, smear over all, let it sit for a bit, wipe with a microfiber cloth. Then get some newspaper, give it a scrunch then open it up and rub it all over the mirror, keep going until it shines!
Oh and for your 'bits an bobs' that you put next to the microwave, instead put it all into a lovely basket on the bench, it looks great and you can later carry it around as you put 'stuff' back in it's place! I hope this helps.
If you do go with yellow for your wall, a pale lemon yellow would be the best and team it up with plenty of white (strangely it seems to show less dirt than you might think)
    Much love to ya! x

Hi, we bought hoods to cover the dishes in the microwave. Sometimes, you get them on sale for 1 Euro (yes, I'm not from Britain). If they have bigger holes, one can cover them up with some paper-towel. If things explode or boil over, at least the mess is contained. The plastic-covers can be easily washed, even in a dishwasher. We keep them on top of the oven: right way - unused, turned - used, need cleaning. It's like a code the whole family and our guests understand. It saves a lot of time, energy, and - yes - scouring-products. Good for our purse, good for our environment... Oh, and yes, some of the hoods are as old as our first, still working and in prime condition, microwave which we bought around 1993.
