  • Come with me while I walk along the Southern and Western most Railway Tracks of Singapore!
Formerly belonging to Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM), Jurong Railway opened in 4 March 1966, it served the Jurong Industrial District of Singapore in the West of Jurong. The railway is a freight railway that carried supplies and goods in and out of the Industrial District.
However due to construction of expressways and road infrastructure to the Jurong Industrial District, The Jurong Railway Ceased operations as its demand were lightened by the Existing Road Infrastructure.
Beside Shipyard Road is the end of the Southern most and Western Most branch of the Jurong Railway, and remnants of where the Buffer Stop was.

Cool video! FMSR is Federated Malay States Railways so the signage is part of the railway.

My saddest part of my journey is being born at 2001 where Jurong Railway already decommissioned 9 years ago and not being able to see this line to life...
Especially when the place where Jurong Railway Station is standing is now an Industrial site and 1 of the tunnel flooded, 1 tunnel is replaced and 1 tunnel is under AYE

@@gav_junwei sometimes I wish I was born earlier too! Being born in 2008, the KTM Railway was still in operation which I really wish to see, along with many cool places and even old non aircon buses I wish to experience but not being able to as I wasn’t old enough to realise. However I’m also glad that I’m born at the time I was born, as it is a time where digital technology and social media enabled me to do so many things with ease along with very developed and reliable public transport which brings me around to anywhere I want to go!

The signage is actually from the railway however I don't know why it's spelled in English rather than malay...but it's interesting to see the whistle sign still stands

Since the railway was owned by KTM, it’s likely the reason why it was in Malay. Back then in SG, non-Malays had faint knowledge of Malay so they could understand it too.

3:35 Yes this signange was part of the railways. Before Malaya/Malaysia there was the Federated Malay States, so FMSR was their railway name before KTM.

@@amazingstarzz that’s very cool to know that such a old sign still exists before KTM was even called KTM!

@@WuLetaoAhs yeah I wish it stays this way and from photos online and Google maps, throughout the years a lot of new developments destroyed a lot of remnants there
