In fact - it should be the only remaining residential lifts of its type in the entirety of SG, even the final one-door types were wiped by early this year Although this isn't 100% original as the interior buttons had been replaced a few years back and the logic and motor a decade ago

My saddest part of my journey is being born at 2001 where Jurong Railway already decommissioned 9 years ago and not being able to see this line to life... Especially when the place where Jurong Railway Station is standing is now an Industrial site and 1 of the tunnel flooded, 1 tunnel is replaced and 1 tunnel is under AYE
@@gav_junwei sometimes I wish I was born earlier too! Being born in 2008, the KTM Railway was still in operation which I really wish to see, along with many cool places and even old non aircon buses I wish to experience but not being able to as I wasn’t old enough to realise. However I’m also glad that I’m born at the time I was born, as it is a time where digital technology and social media enabled me to do so many things with ease along with very developed and reliable public transport which brings me around to anywhere I want to go!
@@UntitledSingapore yeap... there is pros and cons being born at the year u are born... most of the cons are really historical related and pros are what is coming ahead of you 3 to 4 decades later
so where can i get friends that i can trust
@@realcartoongirl you can get friends anywhere and build trust from there but remember to watch out for red flags and don’t follow the bad people. Keep yourself safe!
When I was a kid, this area was full of taxis and taxi drivers. I didn't know it's a bus terminal before that! Thx for sharing. 😊
@@km80 according to one comment, apparently it was a taxi terminal but then converted to a bus terminal? I’m not too sure. Perhaps after the bus terminal closed, it was reused for taxi?
3:35 Yes this signange was part of the railways. Before Malaya/Malaysia there was the Federated Malay States, so FMSR was their railway name before KTM.
@@amazingstarzz that’s very cool to know that such a old sign still exists before KTM was even called KTM!
Where At?
@@SG1041M_Transit I made a promise that if I upload video online I will not reveal the location for privacy. It’s on private property too.
@@UntitledSingapore oh ok
I vaguely remember seeing that building once while passing by in a public bus, and your video, along with some comments here, seemed to explain what it originally was. It was likely originally a terminal for Yellow-Top Cab taxis owned by a group that would eventually merge into the ComfortDelGro group who'd then discontinue that brand (though clues on Wikipedia seem to suggest that the ‘Yellow-Top Taxi’ (not Cab) brand is still available for privately owned taxis), and the terminal was likely sold off to another company to eventually convert into a bus park when the group moved to a larger terminal. From what I can tell, back in the '80s, the climate was generally cooler and/or air conditioning was a luxury, hence the open areas with one, likely broken, ceiling fan that appears to be a GEC ceiling fan (GEC ceiling fans were, from what I could tell, a possibly cheaper alternative to KDK/National ceiling fans). The switches for the fan and lights were likely located on a wooden board inside that "private" room.
Looks like it had been converted into a storage unit, complete with modifications like a new roof and the doors being unlinked so they could be opened manually. Interesting…
@@kbhasi the new roof protects the train too! Glad to see the owners taking care of it well
I forgot about the original Skytrain, but now that I see one of the train cars, I'm getting back memories of the transitional period where there were old and new stations and tracks mixed together before the old tracks and trains were removed. I could also tell that train car was used as a temporary office space!
@@kbhasi yea it does seem like it! But sadly now the Skytrain is in bad shape ): however there is Car 002 which is in better condition in my other video

@@yewhoeng696 I don’t know what has happened to it nor where it may be, so I can’t film sadly…
The signage is actually from the railway however I don't know why it's spelled in English rather than malay...but it's interesting to see the whistle sign still stands
Since the railway was owned by KTM, it’s likely the reason why it was in Malay. Back then in SG, non-Malays had faint knowledge of Malay so they could understand it too.
Cool video! FMSR is Federated Malay States Railways so the signage is part of the railway.
@@gohby Thank you! And it’s very cool to know the sign was part of the railway! Thanks for the information

It was a taxi terminal station in the 70s to 80s. The "office" was the radio station where they would radio the taxis. I grew up there and my father drove for the taxi company. It belongs to the yellow top taxi company.
