I LOVE THIS. So, basically, it's a device to continuously break the so-called "180 degree rule". Josh, you may be the only cinematographer on earth who has the courage to do it and challenge Copernicus in the process!! Dude, you f'n rule. Absolute best wishes for the success of this. Truly.
True! I broke the 180 on Anamorphia. Loved that shot. I loved how I told you one side of the story, and by the time the view had shifted 180, you got the other side of the story.
I have mounted several things to the ceiling. Its the best thing you can do, since it keeps your floor clear of tripod legs and makes ir easier for vacuum robots :-) (no cables)
This is stupid, impractical, an eye sore, and just a waste of money. .. ...Is what my girlfriend is going to tell me when she finds me installing it in my office. 😅
Mr, you are not just a filmmaker or a content creator, that is everyone else. You cut, weld, program, and everything else to achieve your visions, you don't just press the "REC" button ... you BUILT the "REC" button, to USE the "REC" button. And that is why, you are on another level created by yourself, and this wonderful product is the result of your inspiring inventive genius.
I've been watching your videos for a while now and I've never commented but this one here really got me. Not only are you such a creative dude but dammit it takes courage to design a product and go through all the pain of the process. This type of content is invaluable. Good luck Josh. I know this product will sell like hot cakes
I tip my hat, takes balls and ideas to come up with something like this. But to me it's rather something I would rent than want to own. As with many other effects, this one could be overused too quickly. I wonder how this is balanced. It's also far from "mobile". Not something you'd throw in the car to have it "just in case". This would require a lot of time to set up.
Exterior shots seen in promo was with, Orbit Pro took me 25 minute set up time with just myself alone. 10 minute strike time. Compared to laying dolly tracks, shimming, leveling, using a camera operator. It doesn't even compare. The pro kit does not come with the c-stands or the overhead scaffolding (speed rail) but it does come with the mounting brackets, reinforced arms for heavier payloads and longer lengths, and comes with a Pro Bag. The speed rail to make the scaffold is the easiest sourced component that you will need to buy for yourself. You can get this aluminum tube cut to any length at most Metal wholesalers --- every city sells this component. I would recommend 12 foot lengths. You'll need two of them. I will follow up with a price guide and building plans in the campaign for these components, as it doesn't make sense for me to sell them at a ridiculous price to cover shipping. Same goes with the c -stands, you'll need two of them and they are not included. We may offer a metal clamp, used for industrial spots that can clamp on to an I-beam or truss that's already in place. But these are the options currently for mounting. 1. Screw it into the ceiling into a stud. 2. Build an overhead scaffold with the pro kit. 3. Use a metal clamp attachment to clamp to pre existing overhead metal supports at the location. Hope this helps! More info in the campaign launch on Tuesday.
Your video just popped up on my feed and I'm sold immediately, however, I don't know why shipping to my country directly isn't supported (Jordan) so I had to ship it to the Us and will re-forward it to Jordan (will cost me extra) and the pledge options are pretty hard to immediately tell the difference between like the 1599 and the 1699 ones, I think you should add images on the page that would visualize what each tear offers and also update the website which doesn't detail different kits in a simple manner. best of luck man!
I just LOVE this. Yes the product is great, but I mean the documentation of the process of it - the whole thing like, this is just, I want this for everyone who ever makes something

This is the coolest thing am seeing as a filmmaker. Will definitely own in near future. Here to tell, I trust your art and am 100% certain you will pull it. Best wishes sir!
There is a reason I always come back to this channel. Even after youtube decides not to notify me. There are some people in this world that can pour so much work Into these videos. There are some people that love what they do here. And this is amazing. You are one of the most influential/inspiring people I've seen on UA-cam. I can learn so much about making my own video projects from just watching your non informational videos. So thank you for doing what you do. I believe you're one of the best out there.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, for doing this. I have had my head spinning around, get it, for a year or so trying to come up with a way to do this. I was going to start outside with two 10ft ladders, a cross bar of some kind, an old ceiling fan, and another bar and counterweight to hang my gimbal from. Your idea is what I could only hope to get to, and I’m glad I don’t have to figure out the electrical to slow down the fan. 48 RPM is a tad fast. Standing ovation to you and the team. I wish I could help with the kickstart, I will just have to start the budget, and be patient.
Same here, I am looking for ball bearing and speed rails, now it's over. Let's invest our time in other thing and order this. Congratulation and best wishes bro.
I just used an old crane head, some poles and some counterweights - a bit of a frankestein style but it worked: ua-cam.com/video/oYvtvRK2lDk/v-deo.html
I'm currently wrapping up my freshman year studying mechanical engineering and also working on photo/video media for the Neumann Center here in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Seeing these two interests of mine come together on my favorite UA-cam channel so elegantly, cleanly, and beautifully has floored my engineering self and inspired my creative soul. While I can't afford an orbiter now and don't have space or reason to use it currently, I can see myself using one in the future if I ever get that studio I dream of. A basic lighting setup, some warm Christmas lights for bokeh, and a variety of color gels combined with this would make a killer setup, and, because of the ceiling mount, one I could leave permanently set up. Shooting portraits? Pull the camera off of the orbiter and shoot handheld. Interview? That parallax side angle and maybe a second arm jerry-rigged on, forming a cross shape (or just use sticks and keep it simple). Product photography? Done. Photogrametry? Never easier! I'm so excited to see what people will do with this tool!!!
Maybe. That last shot was me with about 18mm, and the arm half bent. Not fully extended but bent so it would be lower on my body. 24 may be tight, it may be a 1/2 body shot tbh.
if you can mount it to your ceiling... for client work, all the extra scaffolding required to setup, imo, makes it useless when compared to a traditional slider
I’ve been influenced by you more than any other UA-cam out there. Been here since before 100k and you’ve given me so much knowledge and I absolutely love that you’re getting the recognition you deserve. This is so cool!

This is genuine value creation focused business. The video was absolutely delicious to watch. The most classy, real and human advertisement I have ever seen. This needs to be the future of advertisement. Real, raw, and transparent, convincing through its sheer value proposition.
Hey Josh, just one suggestion! most of the people are scared to start mounting stuff to the ceiling but if you use 2 Invisible Selfie Stick (same like insta360) could be better! I know maybe its more technologie but I think its more safe and portable to everywhere! I'm really fan of you, that's why I send you this message! let's rock!
Hers the truth, our landed costs are pretty high given shipping and current tarrifs from China. We could only do 50 units at that price because I felt that my channel deserved a few units for my core supporters. In order for us to be a solvent company and actually deliver, build the app, and develop and QC, we couldn't offer any more than 50 at that price. But we do have early bird discounts so come Tuesday, come early and grab them while we got them!!
@@MAKEARTNOWCHANNEL My problem is that I can't offer to pay the 900$ now, 200$ + 600$ later would have been fine. How long will you sell these with the early price / normal price? How about after kickstarter? And do I need to handle VAT (EU)

Wow! Great idea and excellently executed! I was thinking about a versatile studio solution for small spaces. You got me! Really great! A couple of minor tips if I may. I would like to see the two axes rotate independently (i.e. at a slightly different level) to have more versatility, let’s say I don’t have much space and I want to film only within 180 degrees. It would also be nice to incorporate a slider in the stable part of each axis (this could have been removable and can be used separately if you like). Hope that gives some ideas for future upgrades…. Keep up the great work! Regards from Cyprus Constantinos Ioannou
Couple things I thought of (which there's a good chance you already have). A possible mounting option could be a set of 4 of those strong rare earth magnets. They can hold a shitload of weight and unless your torque them to the side to break them free they aren't going anywhere. That would give you a ton of flexibility on putting this thing different places. The second thought I had was to have some sort of stand that would allow you to set this thing up on the fly in someone's office. I conduct interviews on job sites for construction as well as in the contractors own office. If I had a stand where I could set this thing up in 5-10 minutes I would absolutely pull this out for interviews. Especially if the app lets me control the arc angle where I can keep the mounts out of frame that's a no brainer for a unique interview angle. Awesome stuff Josh, this is really revolutionary.
I just don't get it. How does he not have 10 million subscribers? This is literally the best content on the internet in my opinion. You tell even the simplest of stories in the best possible way. Every time. I wish I could subscribe millions of times. Never quit.
Way to go Josh! This looks amazing! One of the biggest drawbacks for a lot of people, is having to be their own camera crew. This really gives them the power to be more creative on their own!
Such a sick tool! I can't believe this isn't already on the market by one of the bigger names in film tools. This is going to be huge for you, Josh and I'm hoping to be one of the first 50!
Josh, I am in awe of you. You are such and inspiration. We are moving soon, likely out of the country, so this just doesn't work for me right now. When we get settled and the new studio is set up, I will gladly pay whatever full price is for this. In the meantime, I'll bring this to the attention of every videographer that I know. Good luck with the launch!
Wow this video makes me happy and smiling somehow, so cool to see the product evolution, I guess many do not even realize what is behind the product making.
Congrats! As a founder of a hardware startup, I know how hard this road is. But it's also so exciting; with hardware your creation is a tangible object and that's something that many other types of creators and startups just can never experience. Good luck with the molds, final revs (i hate to say it, but that's plural for a reason), and app integration!
The next big thing in gimbal tech!!! Congratulations! I want to buy one now. Good job brother! Creating something that us beginning video, product and interview creator to have a chance in the industry. So grateful and so fortunate for creators mindset like yours! Any price is worth this product!

This is crazy Josh! Love the product!
This is incredible. I have so many ideas. Josh taking his Art Making to whole new levels. I need this in my life now.
Great balls of fire 🔥 This is it. This is what we've all been waiting for. Mind blown. I knew you were good, but this is just off the charts 🤯
Congrats! As a founder of a hardware startup, I know how hard this road is. But it's also so exciting; with hardware your creation is a tangible object and that's something that many other types of creators and startups just can never experience. Good luck with the molds, final revs (i hate to say it, but that's plural for a reason), and app integration!
Well done Josh, brilliant !!
The next big thing in gimbal tech!!!
