This video about Male Pattern Baldness is very useful and informative... Excellent explanation and easily understandable for everyone...Thank you for sharing
Thanks for the nice content Dr. As we age, I believe the DHT content might reduce if that is the case why does balding becomes even more pronounced after 45 considering all other vitals are good.? Could you comment on this please?
I would say there is no one age but average at 25.If an individual has very strong family history and is thinning all over, I would be comfortable to do his procedure only at 27 after building up his donor and stabilising his baldness. But then many patients also are unfit.
Thank you Doctor Bhatti for the explanation. I personally have some doubts regarding the treatments for hair loss, Q1) Does micro needling/derma rolling show any positive effect on reducing the hair loss and help regrow hair follicles ??? Q2) Is there any person that you have seen/studied got benefitted out of micro needling/derma rolling ?? Q3) Is it a good treatment to add on top of the existing treatment for male pattern baldness, like in addition to minoxidil or fin ??
Caucasians have the most aggressive form of skull remodeling, while challenging as it's a phenotype most common in us Caucasian westerners, if you study the relationship with head shape and pattern hairloss it becomes obvious, your head shape initiates the process which DHT is a part of, but our head shape does in fact determine not only if you lose but how much and what pattern your hairloss takes place in, your best bet without medication is likely practices targeting circulation in and around the scalp before hairloss sets in, and this will be a lifelong commitment. This is why ethnic groups such as the native Americans had such a low rate of balding and hairloss in general, their phenotype gave them a head shape that favors good circulation and a good facial development, compared to the modern west where our facial development isn't as good and our phenotype is associated with excessive bone remodeling of our cranium during adulthood which ends up killing the hair on top and to a degree on the sides as well.
@HairTransplantinindia Dr i want to start with finasteride low dose but couldn't found less than 1mg, can i take 1 mg every 4 days, that dosage look like 0.25mg??
Hello sir, I did my bloodtest and found out my testosterone is 220. I had tried finasteride 2 times and suffered from sexual sides. Do you think it might be due to low testosterone
Hello Dr, im currently on finasteride for a 1 year and got good result on 3-4 months then shedding after shedding and today my hair look like when i 1st started. Everytime i shed, there is that itchiness scalp and sometimes some acne and some tiny hump. I heard that without taking care of this itchiness (maybe a form of inflammation) , fin will not work well but my conclusion is at every shedding im getting that. Does that normal itchiness that fin do when causing shedding of weak hair but then why these acne?
It appears in detail we know what causes MPB however... there is no CURE for MPB! My dermatologist gave me a Rx for 5mg Fin that I can 1/4 into 1.25mg daily. At 66 years of age I'm concerned about 'sides'. Several months ago when I visited my Urologist he told me and warned me to NOT take it because of sexual sides and at times they are permanent! Considering 1.25mg every other day and see how it goes... if anything seems bad I'll stop.

Because as we age:
1. We are more sensitive to DHT.
2. 5a enzyme produces more DHT as we are approaching the end of middle age.

It stimulates hair growth and reduces the telogen phase of the cycle. It does not cause regrowth. Also the scarring due to microneedling is an issue.

Acne can be due to excessive build up of the drug. Take a break every 3 months for a fortninght.
@@hairtransplantinindia Hey Doctor thanks for replying, i will do that and update you on the progress🙂
