I don't know if it's just my own experience, but air cooled engines tend to consume a little bit of oil on long rides, while liquid cooled bikes can run for thousands of kilometers without adding a drop of oil or coolant. I think it's because air cooled engines have larger tolerances to allow for heat expansion, while liquid cooled have a narrower temperature range and therefore tighter tolerances.

For eg, gixxer sf250 vs fz25 vs R15.. r15 being highest has LC system whereas sf goes with OC system and fz just gets with air cooled. The relation mostly i see is with compression ratio. In theory yes. But in the other direction. The more power the engine is supposed to make, the more heat it produces. And therefore the more the chance it’ll need liquid cooling

Yes i agree. Follow your heart and get the bike that satisfy you and trust the engineers who designed your engine to get the appropriate cooling system.

I beg to differ, i used to own pulsar 150 (2010 batch), when riding enthusiastically on long distances and especially in hilly terrains, it shuts off due to certain heat of the engine. I had to stop often, say after every 40km or so. Second, I currently use NS200 bs6 as my commuter, as it's a liquid cooled, the hot air gets directed to the lower parts of the legs but by the time it touchthe legs, it feels warm (not hot). Travel 100km in a single take, it doesn't dissapoint.
