Uploading the Tony Jay poem separately made me want to give this one its own video too. This cut holodisk recording from Fallout Tactics is easily my favorite cut dialogue file in the entire series 💙💙💙
What's the song at 3:23
Something that surprises me consistently about Tactics is the genuine strength of the writing. The writing and voice acting are just incredible.
The craziest part is that it was mostly written by a guy who had only worked in the industry as a tester on F2 lol
@@TriangleCityperhaps theyvhad their own experience writing elsewhere
I feel like Sir Latham may have gotten a concussion during the fight, or was schizophrenic and ran out of medicine. The description of him having hallucinations. It’s very sad seeing him go from despising mutants, to liking them, only to be betrayed by his former human friends.
Barclay's holodeck programs are getting really fucking weird
Let's be honest, they always were.
Dwight Schultz. Aka Reginald Barkley on Star Trek TNG. Aka Paladin Lantham. Aka Gammorin.
The man. The myth. The legend.
Bear in mind, this actor normally plays JOKE characters. At least they start as that. Then people realize, this guy can fucking ACT.
Wait... that voice is Lt. Barkley? Very cool!
Lt Barkley was one of my favourite minor characters. If I was in Starfleet, I’d probably be him lol.
And for those of us born in the 80's he's 'Howling Mad' Murdock on The A Team!
Also Mung Dahl on Chowder!
He is Knight Cade in Fallout 4, the Brotherhood doctor. He is also a character in F2, but I can't remember what character, he is one of the tribals
Truly heartbreaking a story he was true solider till the end fighting for what he believed in and for those that look up to him for guidance
Sounds like he suffered a frontal lobe injury in the duel. That's where your personality and essentially who you are as a person resides in the brain. Look up "traumatic brain injury". It can completely change who someone is.
that might very well be the intent. the log seems to suggest Latham potentially suffered either injuries or mental trauma during the battle and slowly succumbing to his own madness and the same primal bloodlust that drove Gamarran previously as potential refurbished pre-war war machines and rogue Brotherhood members brutally cut down the tribe of super mutants he came to view as his comrades along with other Brotherhood members
And thus, the cicyle continues...
Incredible VA
Good Story
What a Vibe
Why couldnt the tv show be about this.... Instead we get another BOS Piece of shit to sell Funko pops
Get ready for what comes after if you didn’t think fallout four or 76 was the rape of the franchise then this TV show will make it abundantly clear how much they hate everything that fallout was in the first two games tatics and new Vegas
Fallout effectively died with 4. That's when they started going hard with brand recognition it's all been about merch since then.
@_crimson_982thw storytelling wasn’t terrible but it really feels like the entire setting has taken a step backwards with the show. The most interesting part of fallout was seeing the factions rebuild and form new centers of power from the wasteland. The NCR forming out of shady sands, the legion from arizona, the brotherhood of steel expanding to the east coast. The show seems to be trying its hardest to get rid of that and set the wasteland back to step one. The brotherhood is weakened and the prydwyn has pulled back to the west, the NCR was destroyed, the ending scene showed new vegas in ruin with the strip destroyed. No mention of the legion yet but I bet they’re also going to be a shadow of their former selves. Its like the show writers hated that people liked the intricate faction politics of New vegas and fallout 2 and want to stomp them into the ground completely.
Tactics ohh Tactics if you just bin a RPG like your brothers you could be someone
Whenever people discuss good Fallout games, or what counts as canon in the setting, I always remind them of Tactics. Because at times, it feels like no one else will. It was a spin-off, to be sure, but it deserves to be remembered. And it added to the setting, so much so Bethesda stole from it but doesn't have the guts to recognize Tactics and the contributions it made to the setting.
Like an audiobook
The voice so descriptive, matches the story perfectly
Let’s go!
I linked this exact section of the Fallout Tactics video to a discord and said this is the 'saddest cut content', about a week ago. Crazy coincidence/great minds think alike.
this really portrays the brutality of the wasteland to a uniquely haunting degree
This is real gaming. This is real art.
This poor dude
Damm just damm i m amazed
wow. This is the storytelling I miss.
3:23 what is this song?
You ought to cover Nous Aurouns,The Sum,i know it aint fallout but i found it quite interesting the lottle i played of it
Thanks for posting this one
This was good.
I very need Fallout 5 in this atmospheric!
What is the song near the end, It starts around the deathclaw hallucination
Brutal
This is so emotional and well done, Bethesda has never written anything so good, and it makes me so sad to think the owners of fallout, dont even love the soul.
Man its a shame Fallout tactics bombed as a game, the stories told always seem genuinely great.
