I'm cautiously optimistic, and Goggins apparently having a larger role than I anticipated is a big plus for me, but I'm not going overboard on the positive anticipation at this point.

Yeah, don't care who the hero ends up being in a fallout story, as long as the means to get there is well presented as to the lore of fallout and the world building feels as close as possible to the fallout universe, I just hope they don't compromise storytelling for the message, that's all after that, I don't care if the main protagonist is a mole rat lol

People should remember just because the main protagonist isn’t a man has nothing to do with how well this can play out, it’s the idea that she is unstoppable compared to everyone is why we would hate it, BUT, BUT
they beat her down so they aren’t going in a bad direction with this plus the rich and smart are prime targets for vaults not all but most are so if she would have anything it would be some skills in certain areas like engineering or even being a vet to know how to shoot. She just needs to make sense

I get what youre trying to say but if youve ever played any fallout being the start of the franchise in 1999 or the more resent bathesda e tries youll know prestine make up in the irradiated wasteland is not a big thing of concern, if at all it isnt even present in that world, also in the games, yes even in 1999 you could chose the play a female or male, it didnt matter who the hero would be they just focused in the legendary storytelling, this is one where i wont critique if they decide to use a female hero to tell the tale as long as the storyline is good and properly portrayed.....@@septoandklepto

My expectations are so low i won't be disappointed, fully expecting THE MESSAGE to be crowbarred in but I'll give it a go.
It doesn't really apply to this IP though. Even if the main character was male, it's still Bambi vs Godzilla. Its supposed to be an ill equipped novice, making their way in a very dangerous world.
The Fallout TV series' focus on political correctness may alienate its core audience and threaten the franchise's legacy. However, this is not an unprecedented issue for Bethesda, as the company's other franchises have faced similar challenges. Despite these concerns, it remains to be seen if the series can successfully adapt the beloved post-apocalyptic world while knowing they are never going to remain faithful to the original lore. (I missed a word for this edit)
and it was that PC bullshit that sank Starfield, or atleast played a hefty role in it. Atleast Fallout 4 London comes out around the same time as this

That is the least perceptive comment I ever read. She is the epitome of a weak and naïve Vault Dweller. Bambi meets Godzilla is literally the theme of the game series, in which playing as a female has always been possible. It's supposed to be a dramatic transformation of the main character. It's...like the whole point.
"Please be good" is also pretty much my sentiment lol. The look and feel certainly match. So we'll see about the story.
I don't understand how marketing depts and corporations can possibly MISS dozens and dozens of comments on their own video, that's less than a day old, from people who have all been *hammered* into this same sentiment.

I have to agree with most of the comments that say: "Please don't suck!".... Please don't suck. Also, since Amazon has some absolutely gory shows like The Boys, I'm hoping for this show to have some amazing blood and gore moments. Put on my Amazon wishlist...

Seeing all those comments - _"Please let this be good"_ etc felt really heartbreaking. How can so many people, be on the same page and be ignored and dismissed for so long? This situation needs to end.
Might be good. Trailer wasnt that bad. And the main protagnist is easy on the eyes. Its got John Nolan (brother of christopher Nolan) behind it. Walter Goggins brings life to any character he's playing.
If Westworld is the go by. First season might be good. Then it might be downhill from there. But I enjoyed Person of Interest.

I think, from the trailer, that Cooper Howard is running to the vault to save his daughter, whom they take in, and he is left behind. I think that Lucy is his greatgreatgreatgreat grand daughter.
Hoping it isn't shite but too be fair, Amazon also doesn't drop all of Woke of Time at once so it isn't all that telling. Just an unknown till we see it.
Honestly I'm not convinced, something just feels off to me. I don't want the series to be bad, but I'm not convinced still. Amazon has not earned or deserve my trust.

As I Mega Fallout fan I pray they do it justice and make it great! I remember watching my dad play fallout 3 when I was 8, and just being absolutely mesmerized by the wasteland. Fallout is also responsible for introducing an entire new generation to Jazz, rockabilly and other older styles of music. It certainly was responsible for my eclectic music taste.
Please tell me you've played the originals. Fallout 2 is by far the best Fallout game.
@@Tinywars I didn’t have a proper PC to play them on, so I watched people play through them multiple times and did a ton of lore videos, books you name it. I wish Fallout 1 and 2 got full remakes.

@@andyreaver1962. I can understand that. Not playing those early games and having a first person version as your first can be difficult. I have the same issue with Morrowind. I adore Oblivion. That was my first Elder Scrolls. Going back and playing Morrowind was really hard. I gave up. I have hope we'll see Fallout 2 remade. That if it stayed true to the original would sell like hot cakes.

I love the trailer of Fallout, it looks promising.
They are dropping all episodes to get a feel for what kind of audience they are going to draw quickly, then they can decide to go forward on season 2 or not.
Show wise, it's looking as good as a 3 minute trailer can do. Fallout wise... we'll see. Kind of feels like the BoS are being set up to be the hard antagonists, not sure how I feel about that. Kind of getting Finn flashbacks with the BoS guy there, maybe they won't just throw away all that potential in favor of girl bossery. The first Vanity Fair article caused me a little concern with the comment that the Vaults were nothing more than vacation resorts for rich people to hangout during the apocalypse. I really hope The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) is the same character doing the Vault-Tec commercial and he knows of their experiments and has some sort of remorse for doing commercials that brought the people to the vaults for experimentation, leading to teaming up with Lucy. Well, not an immediate pass, that's progress compared to a lot lately, so I suppose that's good.
Walter Googins will have flashbacks to his character before he turned into a ghoul. And if you go deeper into the Brother Of Steel lore they're kinda dicks.
Deeper into the lore? Deeper than what? What lore did I bring up? Me hoping they don't portray the BoS as the hive mind, always objectively "evil" antagonists that seems to be all writers can handle these days has nothing to do with lore. Being dicks has nothing to do with being antagonists. It means, might want to sit down for this one, it means they're dicks. Antagonists can be dicks, protagonists can be dicks, random throw away characters that add no meaningful value to the story can be dicks. If anyone thinks a character or group must be the antagonists because they're dicks, well I suppose the past few years of dumpster fire level entertainment has been nothing short of fantastic. I like characters with more than one dimension, no matter what their role is in the story, though.

I'm not sure even the legendary walton goggins can make this good...but we'll see.
My two concerns are on if there'll ever be any actual exploration and on if there'll be any of the radio. It'll likely keep the music to an minimum and keep the character in main locations, only, with little travel.

Well, shit. I guess I'll have to check it out for Walt Goggins, if nothing else. But I'll say, the overall visual esthetic looks pretty spot on to the game universe. That'd be sweet if there were finally another good game adaptation after Mario Bros. If it's truly faithful, this would be a good show to get lost in. Like most things, if it takes off, I bet the best thing will be the ghoul-Goggins action figure, power armor figure and Deathclaw figure
Todd and Emil have made it clear that they will alter the canon of Fallout, Fallout 2 and New Vegas in this show. They can't handle their jealousy and frustration.

I’m not that hyped. I’m a hardcore fan and this didn’t sell me. In fact, the fact that this show is coming out very soon makes me think it maybe okay. The production value is also making me nervous.

The Boys s1 and Reacher s1 did indeed drop all eps on day 1. Later seasons changed as this will. When amazon renews it, it'll go weekly. Seems to be their model for further investment. Popular? Keep. Not popular, it's just a one day release dump and burn.
Looks pretty good, but I'm worried that it will suck, since they are dropping it all at once, it probably means it sucks and they want to get high numbers before word of mouth ruins it.
I plan to watch regardless for Walton Goggins alone
They're Releasing all episodes @Once, because we Don't live in a world where u have to Wait for Next Week's episode, Anymore. If I Couldn't Binge-Watch Shows, I Wouldn't put up w/ TV and Commercials. Plus, there's enough shows out, that I Lose track of them, if I'm not watching them En Binge....

It looks good. I'm still cranky that Nolan and Joy got moved from The Peripheral S2 to do this, but strikes be damned, the next show must go on, I guess.
Third viewing - there's a touch of Terry Gilliam in the styling - both visual, and manner. Brazil, 12 Monkeys. I like.
They've already said it's going to feature heavy social commentary, so buckle in.

Hmmm (shakes 8-ball): all signs point to "Amazing will pull a Wheel of Time/Rings of Power".
I love the lore of Fallout (4.5k hrs in FO4) but this I look who's involved with this and the desecration of Tolkien's work leaps front and centre.
This is going to be just as great as Lord of the rings series. Amazon really knows how to make good series.

She's going to be naive and Walter Goggin's character will find her and take her under his wing and teach her to survive in the wasteland because she reminds him of his daughter. I bet you that's what happens and it sounds good.
But, considering this is Amazon you're talking about, and its 2024, and DEI has taken over everything - then she will tell Walt to F off, that she doesn't need any man, and so forth. It's the same playback for every show.
So far they look like they’ve captured the spirit of the games and I assume the reason they’re dropping all the episodes at once so it can really be examined by reviewers & the audience instead of being judged based on the first episode or two I guess but I really hope it’s good and they don’t screw the pooch like they did with the rings of power
Show looks superb but "All Episodes" was a little red flag for me. That said, Knuckles series is also doing all episodes on day one and that also looks great.
Looks really good hope this movie does well, yet another visual effects show on a low budget and it shows in vfx.

The sad part is...that if you want to watch it or react to it as a UA-camr without ads, you'll need to cough up an extra few bucks.
I think the guy who did the advertisement for Vault-Tec at the start of the trailer is also the ghoul. Which means he did not get or could not afford a spot in a vault when the nukes hit.
Or left his vault a bit early.
@@jorgewilliams6041My guess is, based on the descriptions of the show that is it about conflicts between the "haves vs have-nots" , the guy was hired to did the advertisement for Vault-Tec vaults, YET he could not afford to pay for or get a spot in a vault when the fallout happened. He survived but turned into a ghoul. That ordeal became a big chip on his shoulders, which is part of his characterization and character story, i.e., he felt he got screwed over by Vault-Tec and was bitter towards anyone who was able to get into a vault.
It looks exactly how Fallout should.
The sense of humour is in line with the games
The world looks great.
And MOST IMPORTANTLY.... the people in charge seems to respect the source material & the fans.

Even the lore here don’t make sense, like why the fuck is the brotherhood here? It’s supposed to be the NCR but then again, the Brotherhood armour is now the look for fallout that everyone knows. So why not throw that in there.
