I actually really like the stock RX-8 shifter.
I just started researching putting a rotary into my nb and then quinn says he wants to. I feel like i must do it now
Matt’s FD - ceramic mat white with a glossy finish (frozen bmw look)

Rotrex the RX-8 ( power, interesting project)
MCoupe - CSL like airbox, anti rasp pipe, subtle vibrant mufflers. (Keep it classy, these get boomy and don’t sound good loud in my experience)
FD - Send it and cryogenically treat it’s next gearbox. 😢

@TheSlipAngle I never thought I'd see the day you wanting a brand new car lol. Same ez financing they're impressive especially modded I'm sure you already know. 500whp cost nothing make can handle 700 keeping everything stock(not turbo obviously) after like 750 torque need build automatic transmission.
Response for the ideas for the Mazda RX8: Oil Catcher Mod , RE-medy High Flow Water Pump , Oil Cooper Upgrade with new lining . These all mods for more reliable on the RX8
I don't think any of those are really needed on a street driven 8. Maybe for a track day car but it doesn't take away from the heat that the corner seals get with the side exit exhaust ports of the Renesis.

You have one the most beautiful 8's that I have ever seen. I have a gunmetal grey '04 with the 6-speed (of course) and it had like 5 owners before I could get ahold of it and treat it right. I still love it though. I just replaced the OMP/MOP because it was doing the limp mode. I added the Sohn adapter and found your video on that was very helpful. Thanks Quinn!

I'd like to see a video revisit on the rx8 after all these mods. Get some 0-60, 5-60, 30-50 etc speed data and some 1/4 mile data, maybe a baseline for lateral g's in current setup, more numbers are always good. Not sure if you're open to revisiting cars at your test track with 200tw tires on or only interested in normal street tires, would be fun to see.
Trying to get those numbers means really wailing on the car, repeatedly lol. The RX-8 isn't exactly the easiest car to launch either.
I absolutely say keep the red NA and throw that ITB engine in it and the rotary in the NB. I may be biased, but there's not much out there today like a nice NA6. Especially the interior

I wanna see rx8 on track again. Not with horrible tyres! It was awful. And maybe remap? Last time you messed around with mazdaedit but dont remember you completed. Z4m needs cleaning or polishing. Yes for supra but 3rd gen. Most underrated car ever.
Buy an automatic A90 Supra...the ZF8 is truly amazing. I used to be a manual guy...but these new auto transmission are game changers.

I agree with the supra thing. Hell, even RBs are high revving both in NA and turbo form.
Get a 3 rotor from the cosmo into the rx8. Or rew swap

I'll never say no to a rotary swapped Miata build. I know you guys do cars mostly but what about a Mazda b-series rotary swapped parts runner?
Also, have you not considered of making a header? Taylor Ray made a bunch of videos on learning to make them for a drift Corvette.
Great to hear the love is back for cars. Z4M project should be fun, should have a very different feel to the other projects.
Z4MC is overall better looking (outside) than a Mk5 Supra (the fake vents and sproutiness). the later model BMW interior of the MK5 is nicer and there's easy power with boost
My friend brought his 21 A90 over the other day and I actually got to get up close and personal with it. I was impressed and changed me tune quite a bit. We will be airing the video shortly.
I feel like there has been sufficient BP engine content on the channel, so the giveaway on the red car sounds like a good idea. I would definitely buy into that. As for what to get, one of the Kei sports cars from the 90s, like a Honda Beat, Autozam AZ-1, or Suzuki Cappuccino would be cool. Not many channels have really dug into those in terms of engine mods and performance. It would be a great bridge between the car and motorcycle content.

The Rx8 needs the FD motor
I would love to see you do some ECU flashes on the RX-8 with some in-depth before and after footage. Idle tuning, full throttle tuning and max RPM tuning for effects when it hits the limiter. I have done the basic upgrades on my RX-8 but I haven't graduated to using tune editors yet and I think some insightful tutorials would get a ton of play. For Matt's RX-7, I would go formula red wrap since white and red are compatible with a japanese car theme. It would be the equivalent of putting a green wrap on a yellow Lotus. plus, Matt's rotor housings are already red, he could paint the irons with a high heat white enamel. I really appreciate all the RX videos you have done thus far and look forward to seeing what you get into next. Love those rotaries!
For the RX8 tunes, most of the mid range, idle, and just about everything outside of full throttle is pretty good right from the factory and we didn't really have to touch it. There are more sensors making corrections on newer cars so it's not like tuning the older stuff on standalones. We really only had to make changes on the WOT rows when we tuned.

I'm not sure what you would define as "crazy" for the RX8. You've said before, and in this video, it's lacking in power. I'm not sure if you've heard of Brettus on the RX8Club forums, but he has made a log manifold for turbo charging, and he also does tuning, and overall he has come up with a great turbo solution for the RX8.
I would imagine that RX8 videos would garner more interest than the other, more expensive cars you possess. You can still get them relatively cheap, so it's an attainable dream car.

We recorded this about a month ago and since then I have gotten some progress updates. Sounds like things are moving along with the swap so at this point it's whatever. I'm sure the car will be good and I am just happy that progress is happening. If the engine rocks I'm going to put the entire drivetrain into the NB.
@@TheSlipAngle Awesome to hear it's moving forward even if it's at a snails pace. Hearing stories like this has made me hesitant to ever take my car to a shop but I get it, rotary conversion isn't a skill many posses lol. I'm legitimately looking forward to that video though. A rotary miata sounds like a good time.
When you make the video please give us a overview of what all went into making the swap possible. I've always had a vision of making a budget "rally" car out of a BMW 318ti and rotory swap it to get that crazy high rally red line on a more affordable budget.

Put a drag cartel honda engine in the NB with a big cam and no vtec, with a BMW trans and Ford diff. They can build them to n/a around 350 hp and still be streetable, but very aggresive sounding.
