If you have the caliper on the wrong side and the bleeder screw is on the bottom, it can not be bled properly. If you get done with the job and your pedal is noticeably spongy, that means it still isn't bled completely. I'm currently looking into see if this upgrade can be done on a 2008 model. It may require slightly different Hardware. But I do like this upgrade. The torque spec on those caliper bolts is 120 ft lb. I believe on the banjo bolt it's about 20 to 25 ft pounds. And you are supposed to use new copper washers each time, but if you're very careful you might be able to skate by with using them one extra time.
I did this upgrade about two years ago. FYI If you have a set of 17" Vision legend 6 like me those brakes will actually fit with a decent amount of clearance between the inner rim and caliper to my surprise.
This my sound silly but did it actually improve braking I heard that you might need to change the brake booster also to accommodate the bigger calipers but I’m not so shur
I definitely felt some improvement. Maybe just make sure you have the same rear caliper as me. Some come with 2 pitons I believe which might cause a difference since you would now be pushing more pistons total.
Biggest problem is the factory wheels hit the new calipers so now you will need 1/2” spacers and longer wheel studs. Note easy to find. You will need an old stud to measure to find a new set.
Im glad you pointed out the safety issue. Respect to you. I have seen more than one of these videos where, IDIOTS dont use them. Gamble in Vegas, not with your life!!
