  • Welcome to Longarm education the second Sunday the month with Sew Steady Education Ambassador Kate Quinn.
Today Kate continues working on her Sherbet runner project featuring the classic pinwheel as today’s block selection. She features 2 different triangle designs using a variety of templates. Kates uses the 10” and 12” arc templates to compare size options and elevate the look of the triangles. Kate also uses them to create spines for feathers and make the space a more feather-friendly size.
Spin e Fex 11 is added in for elegance in detail and to also show how designs might need to be added at different times even if they are part of the same look.
A lot of today’s designs are focused on how to hold the templates and move in different directions and on examining what is an effective design path.
As a reminder, you can always stitch these out on your domestic machine as well.
    Happy Quilting!
    ~Kate

Even though I'm a domestic machine quilter I still enjoyed this video. I always pick up a tip or idea. Sometimes several. I saw with how your 5" feather didn't work in the triangle. I've run into that particular problem a time or two. I've exchanged emails with Sew Steady asking for bigger feathers. Even though the don't have plans for them I am keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for a great video. Travel safe!
