Hi Kate -good info. Can you do the same demo with the ruler foot? It works differently than the spring action. I've found the spring action to be much easier to set perfect tension. The ruler foot, not going up and down, seems to pull more when doing circles. This is for a domestic machine, I know longarms go up and down a little. I can't wait to get one. Thank you.

Hi Diane-I use the rulerfoot almost exclusively for freemotioning. I rarely change my foot. I find the spring foot a little restrictive but it’s good to know that people have choices. I am traveling a lot so I may not have a chance to do a second demo on this topic though :(
Hope you are well. My camera and I are making friends and learning about each other. Got a great shot of the moon the other night that I have never been able to get before!

Newbie to FMQ. My first practice sandwich looked OK with same color thread top and bottom. I was able to get rid of the eye lashing. So I switched bobbin to a different color. Lets just say YUCK! lol I did end up taking about 1/16th of a turn out of the bottom tension as I was pushing over 8 tension on top. Now about 4.5 top with mostly good results all around. I believe putting same colors top and bottom will be almost un-noticeable. Now to work on a bunch more practice sandwiches in my future.
