Honestly one thing I’d love to see more of in these guides are suggested weapons that work well with the weapon featured in the video, like Storm users working well with Brella for its ability to stall out fights even better with HP regen. Either way, great vid!

In the meantime, let us recall the traits, strengths and weaknesses of the Sorella Brella: * Role: Skirmisher * Short range + High survivability + Good mobility - Low ink efficiency - Slow splatting time In short, a Sorella Brella player will need at least one longer-ranged teammate, at least one Slayer who can quickly capitalize on opponents occupied by the Brella, and teammates who can turf more efficiently. Also of note is which teammate Special Weapons a Brella player can benefit from. The Tacticooler enhances a Brella player's abilities, especially their mobility (Swim and Run Speed Up). A Sorella Brella user would benefit from the presence of a N-ZAP '85 (also good turfing) or Snipewriter 5H (also long-ranged) user on their team. To promote Special Weapon variety, it would be unadvisable to add another Inkjet user, which likely eliminates the Annaki Splattershot Nova (also poor damage), the Rapid Blaster Deco (also poor turfing and slow splatting time without Torpedo combos), and (Vanilla) Tri-Slosher (also short-ranged and not enough turfing).
They might be trying to make undercover brella a lightweight or mobility focused brella with its recent buff. Doesn’t fix its current damage weakness but it’s an interesting way to buff it
it is meant to be the lightweight, but i'll say its a very strange way to make a lightweight. usually they have faster killtimes, not slower ones, but i understand for balancing it makes sense given that it literally can block shots with the main weapon. still, the inconsistency of the damage kind of ruins the whole thing anyways

I find it amusing that Brella's worst match-ups are chargers, blasters... and anything with "tri" in its name, lmao. Brilliant video. I agree with some of the other comments that a section on suggested weapon teammates and a small blip on why they work well, alongside the reasoning you stated earlier on what brella likes to be with, would be really nice, especially for people looking to team up and try out a brella comp.
even though ive got 4 star sbrella i feel like im not doing the best i can with the weapon, hopefully this'll help (here before it comes out)!! edit: so i knew about the hp regen as soon as the shield drops but i never thought about dropping shield and moving so the shield can regen???? im gonna try to actually implement this

Splat Brella main since Splatoon 2. "Role and Matchups" and "Advanced Tips" sections are quite eye-opening. This is gonna be sooo helpful for optimizing my brella play. Loving the field plan in that one example to give us an idea of brella's skirmisher role. Here's hoping for another Splat Brella with Inkstorm!

The only thing I could think of for the original kit is that they were intending you to launch the shield while using Inkstrike but… that just doesn’t work as well as something like the Tenta Brella launching and then using a special 😊

Something that I think could have been brought up in more detail is understanding how to manage latency in regards to Brella as it's probably more important to understand for this weapon then any other. There's even an important tech due to latency being: if you close your shield before it breaks on your screen you can circumvent the lag when it breaks. This is particularly useful in matchups against splatanas to be able to take advantage of their weaker kill time.

If we get a third kit for brella, I hope we get dart+inkstorm. The new HP regen buff in rain could be hilarious with the shield, and dart would be good at harassing chargers that would otherwise leave you without any real way to fight back. It wouldn't be anywhere near as aggressive as the sorella kit, but would allow for more cheese than I think anyone would actually expect

Great guide! I will definitely try sorella brella. Right now I am using sorella tent and would maybe like a guide on that weapon? I am guessing many of these tips will work, but it is a lot slower. More of an aggressive anchor weapon than a defensive frontliner, taking threatening spots that are still away from danger.
Unrelated to the video but if you take suggestions on video topics maybe you could rank each stage rework from worst to best, Splatoon 3 isn't done with reworks but it's be interesting to have each rework compiled and compared
One the whole everyone complaining this would put brella players everywhere, I don’t mind seeing more people play brellas, the only weapon class that irritates me is blasters. I don’t have too much trouble fighting brella as a Splattershot… other than yesterday when I was yelling at my teammate for letting me trade when he was standing behind them with their shield facing me.
For gear i know most people scatter it across all the pieces for cheapness of gear building, BUT for a visual ona video if you are making a graphic and not using a screen shot from in game. I'd recommend grouping it together
I'm not a professional but I sort of feel like maybe LDE would be a good thing to run on this? it would give you the freedom to use your bomb a bit more and a good bit of ink efficiency as well, sure it's not active all the time but when it is it's pretty helpful
so besides weapons that you like and play, are there also gonna be guides for the other weapon(types) you dont main? maybe by introducing Guests to cover for your lack of expertise in those areas?

I started making my set, and I had two almost perfect gear for run speed and swim speed, the rn also having special saver and the ss having qsj. Then I found a shoe with a main of special charge up and a sub of main saver.
If Brella used less ink while shielding I’d totally use it. I loved Brella at the top of Splatoon 2 but haven’t been able to touch it for a long while.
Ninja squid cuz like u said early in the video when yo put your brella in its hard to see where yo go wit the one exception of the ink that shows when squid and ninja squid obviously makes it less
6:00 im curious if ninja squid's startup (as in the starting splashes before it gets hidden) is quick enough that all or majority of the startup is hidden by the shield animation

As an Australian, brella is super buggy for both me and my opponents. Half the time the shield doesn't even protect you when it's clearly up.
