- Thought i would do a quick video of how to safely remove the tank cover of your Duke 790/890.
I HAVE SHOWN THE LEFT SIDE REMOVAL ONLY...THE RIGHT IS THE SAME!!!

I have ordered Black tank cover and Black front mudguard as i want to go All Black. For now i have just ACF50'd the area under the tank cover etc.

Also thanks for this I am mounting my BMW Nav 6 tomorrow so I prepped today after watching this by taking the tank cover off. Going to run power to rear acc 2. As an FYI (I know it’s not the official way to do it) but if you remove the rear and top fasteners first, you can pull lightly on the body work and get a ratchet for the front bottom without scratching anything.

my current bike is a 2017 gsxr1000 and i've been thinking about buying the 890 duke r for quite some while, but i've read some post online saying the engine is not reliable coolant and oil could mix together which will explode the engine.
i've test rode it and i absoulty love the handling of the bike
Yup . It’s a tough one . I’ve had loads of bikes in the past, including K2 GSXR 1000 and Fire-blades.Took a punt on the little KTM and love it . Reliability and all that is a worry but I am hoping that things have been sorted . Mines not a daily rider and is for fun dry days. Best bike for putting smiles on my face I’ve ever had . Did Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia last week but took my Africa Twin as rain was forecast and didn’t want to get my little baby wet ! Oh and we got soaked ! 😂 . I took mine out for a quick spin when we got back from our 1100 mile trip and immediately thought “damn should have taken this it would have been so much fun” But not sure how comfy it would have been for those 4 days and 1100 miles ….. head and heart and all those things …..good luck
Great video! Thinking of buying one of these, but im not very fond of the color.. would want black body and wheels. that combined with the orange frame would look sick :)

Hi. It’s just the plastic tank surround and front mudguard. I’ll then get some decals designed locally. 😁
Can you share the cost of the new tank cover and mud guard? Did they just order the 890 or 790 parts which are black?
For the both it’s about £240!! Not cheap !!

Hi . I ordered them for my local KTM dealer .there was an issue with the front mudguard as I wanted gloss black to match the headlight surround and tail . This was more complicated for my dealer than we thought and now it’s ordered we await to see what arrives. ! It’s the way KTM colour code things which caused the issue . I found it all a bit bizarre to be honest ! Obviously I have decals to design and put on but I am going to get some done locally but there are issues if you want KTM as it’s a licensed brand, where’s 890 and Duke are not , so we will see how it all ends up !
