What you do in a 12 minute video takes me a month of Sundays and I go through the multiple trapezium stages to get there! 😂😂 Looks really good as always! 👍😁

As always very slick and a master class in tidy efficient working Peter ! I particularly liked the perfect finish on the drawer front from the router table, and as a result how neatly it slotted into place ! I keep trying to break my long established habit for measuring everything and instead using offcuts, packers and templates as you do, as it is (obviously) far more likely to result in a perfect fit - good tip on using an offset from the actual board - been caught out by this before !
Traditionally the rear of the drawer would be lower than the sides. This would stop a vacuum forming, making it difficult to open. As you have cut-out draw handles, air is drawn through the handles to the rear of the unit stopping a vacuum from forming.
Hi Peter. Can I ask which particular double-sided tape you use? I think you favour 3M but there are multiple ones on Amazon. I have some generic unbranded double-sided tape but the residue it leaves is almost impossible to get off the face of MDF.
It’s standard t-track; there’s a link to the Rutlands one I used in the description, but they’ve changed to only selling 1-metre lengths now, so I’d recommend woodworkers workshop as they do 1200 lengths. 👍
I love how efficient you are wit a tracksaw! Do you have any tips how to reliably cut 45 degree bevels for beveled boxes? Is that something you can archieve or is it always trial and error until you find the right angle on your saw?
Thanks! Bevel cuts are always hard because there are so many ways that the angle can be affected - just your grip on the saw is enough o alter the blade slightly, so I always recommend making test cuts to get it dialled in just right, and if you have a lot to do, leave the saw set that way. 👍
@@10MinuteWorkshop Thanks for the reply! I saw you doing that in another video, and the result seemed to be perfect. Guess the most accurate way would be magnetic Inclinometer directly on the blade for setup.
Hi Peter, thanks for the video. As always very informative and helpful. I have a project coming up shortly and need to make and install some draws using draw slides. Can you advise the best way to space the slides evenly within the height available in the unit to ensure the draw fronts all look uniform. It’s one of those things I’m struggling to get my head around. Many thanks.
Hi Peter I’m new to the channel, subscribed of course! You do excellent work, and are very entertaining. I’d like to ask maybe a dumb question ? But I notice in a few videos where you are using flush trim router bit I believe? Looks like a compression style maybe I’m wrong but I been playing with these styles lately looking always for a better one, what’s the one you use in this video at 53 seconds in? Any help would be appreciated !
Hi, thanks and welcome! Sorry for the slow reply - had to get into the workshop to check; t's a Trend bit with a double bearing, top & bottom, so good for use in a table as well as hand-held. Bit reference is C199 x 1/2 where the 1/2 is the shank size, and it's a 19mm bit x 50mm cutting height. HTH Peter
How many MFT benches have you got? Each video I watch I think you have a different one! :P I like the idea of a replaceable cross cut area with sacrificial piece.
Hi Peter, a big fan here! Just a question, who is the maple face and reinforced poplar plywood producer? Is poplar plywood cheaper than birch? Thank you!!
Hi David and thanks! There’s a ‘Birch Ply Alternatives’ video out next week, just fyi, you might want to wait for that be for placing an order. The maple-faced ply is from Garnica, and bit the Poplar and the maple were a little less costly than Birch. But not by much! HTH. P
@@10MinuteWorkshop. I will watch your video, as always! On the other hand, your answer about the producer was not a surprise for me, I am part of Garnica and when I watched your video my reaction was something like: I have seen these boards before! Thanks again!
Hi Peter. I’ve recently found your channel and it’s inspired me to make cabinetry my next career change. One thing keeping me up at night; on a previous video you lipped some MDF shelves with softwood before painting the whole shelf. Why would you do that? Thanks!
Thanks Luke and best of luck with the change of career. There’s a few reasons why you might want to lip a shelf like that, but strength and being able to take the knocks a bit better we’re my two main reasons. 👍👍
2k views, and 280 likes, people are a disgrace, it's a simple click to like. Thanks again for your amazing hard work you've taught me so much over the years. I'm still useless as I don't have much time lol, but a dewalt DWS520KT kit arrived today with 3m of rail and bag, on a deal I just had to pay attention to. Hope I made the right choice! I'm now wading through (enjoyably) all your tracksaw series! Thanks again. I've already 3d printed the end cap protectors for the rails lol
What better food for the mind and soul than Peter and his projects. Thank you. My first project starts next week… a basic printer cabinet… inspired

Love the contrast of using a $1000 tool to patch up a couple dollars of plywood for the drawer back. Nothing wasted! Love these videos!
Ha! It might have been a couple of dollars when I bought it, it isn’t now! 👍😂
"Just to keep it real"
Peter always keepin it real. Great video as always
Thanks Sammy! 🙌
Very nice! Can’t wait to see those Baltic birch alternatives!
Thanks - they're coming! 👍
🤣🤣 because I can ...... love it 🤣🤣👍 nice build rebated drawer front looked great 👍
Thanks Dan! 😆👍

love the transformation when you hit it with the wax...
Thank you! 🙌
Your drawer technique is fantastic, looking forward to seeing more!
Cheers Paul! Oh, there’s more… 😂👍
Another great video Peter. Loving the upgrades to your work space. Thank you for sharing the journey… 👍🏻
Thanks Allan! 👍
very slick drawer front - never saw that technique
nicely done Peter
Thanks! 👍
Top draw video as usual Peter 👍🏻
Thank you! 😆👍
the trac saw working around what usually is the realm of table saw work (dado blade use here in the US) .....so perfectly done....outstanding......
Thank you! Been using one forever, they’re a great tool for sheet goods. 👍
New camera? Incredible clarity and beyond pin sharp close-ups in the last few
videos.
Thank you! No, no new camera, and most close-ups are shot on my phone. 👍
Thanks

Beautiful work, Peter! Really amazing looking drawer! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

I noticed those old knees at the beginning. Off-topic, but not a question
Yep. No fun getting old. 🤷♂️👍

Also, no back on the carcass - makes a big difference! 👍
I'd noticed sometimes drawers get stuck on apparently nothing, now I know why!
Many thanks nicpye248 and, of course, Peter.

@@10MinuteWorkshop Amazing, thank you
Just curious, you use the term “rebate”. Is that the common term in Britain? We would call it a rabbet joint in the US.
Yes, it’s the non-US term for that joint. 👍

Nice! A small question, did you use the oscillating mode on the jigsaw to cut those curves?
I did, but I'm never sure it really makes a difference. 🤷♂️
@@10MinuteWorkshop yeah I was guessing it is just for faster (but rougher) straight cuts, not sure if it creates some trouble for curved cuts
