I have to say, you're making a believer out of me about track saws. I'm still a nube with woodworking, and I had a kickback event happen, nothing serious, and I've not returned to it yet. Seeing you do more than I thought you could do with a track, I'm going to return to woodworking! Thank you. I know making videos can seem fruitless to you, but videos actual change peoples' lives. Thank you for your work, time, and instructions!
The one thing that makes your videos a must watch for me . Is that you aren't hiding your mistakes and you do things the simple way.. and luckily your video came with salary at the same time. 😀
Is it just me or am I the only one just now noticing new TEETH!? ! 4:02 is much different than today's video. Looks great by the way. Kudos! and Cheers!
No, you’re definitely not the only one to notice! The visible teeth are just the tip of a (very large and ongoing) dentistry iceberg! And thanks - still a work in progress! 👍
I know it's only a cabinet and some drawers but so many useful tips and ideas for me as a newbie here. The stop on the MFT for the waste-side cuts for the draw runners ... soooo obvious when you see it but never would have thought of it. Cutting all 4 drawer components at once .... why not?! And the loose tenon jig ... great stuff! Thanks very much Peter.
It’s only shop furniture etc but I think this set up you have is really attractive! The birch ply against the coloured MDF really pops! And why not make your workplace look good! Another excellent video. Thank you.
Great video and build Peter with some good time saving and added accuracy tips. Respect too for sharing your mistake as well. An old friend always says "Its not the mistakes you make that matter but how well you get over them!" Thanks again

The purple MDF looks really nice. And regarding the mis-measurement, someone once told me that everyone makes mistakes. But the craftsmanship is in the recovery. Well done. Showing something like that is very helpful.

Thanks for the video Peter. I've had plywood on my mind all week as opposed to MDF, so glad you showed this build. Time for me to start ripping some birch ply sheets and get building!
Excellent job. Thank you. When I was training at Rycotewood College we had Ernest Joyce's Technique of Furniture Making as our manual. Always stuck to that since..
You say you needed to fit packers in the back to overcome a slight miscalculation with the rebate with the drawer fronts... But I think sub consciously you meant to do it to allow a little air flow at the back of the unit! ;) hehehe They look really good, and I love that style of handle, no daft knobs or anything to come off in your hand or get knocked off, just... plain and simple! :)
Hi Peter, BIG fan of your videos, my kind of woodwork, does the job, strong enough, looks the part, and you include the occasional ‘’’Not quite to plan bits’’ which are far fewer than mine😏 Would LUV it if I could see the finishes and glues etc, you use, save me stopping the videos, and zooming to TRY and identify the tins and containers. Thanks for the inspiration to have a go. Kindest Regards
Thanks Tony! Honestly, I try not to promote the finishes and glues too much, because I’ve used all kinds and with very few exceptions, never really found much to choose between them. The fast grab ova is by maxitek, but I happily used polyvine for years, just happened to be five the maxitek. And same goes for the wax finish; this is black bison paste wax from Liberon, but I’ve always used their beeswax previously. No real reason for any of it, it’s just what I happen to have. 👍👍

Here in France at the moment it’s either feed the kids or buy a sheet of birch plywood so I’m envious of your grey on birch design. What should be simple, freely available sheet goods coming together really nicely.
I work in a joinery factory, and we partly use our Homag CNC machine to do all the holes for cabinets in kitchens for example, and we do an 8mm hole in the side, and an 8.5mm hole in the edge like you do on your tenon jig as like you say it gives just enough movement for that variation you may get. 👍
That grey MDF looks really great - and, YES to fitting a plinth (all round!) to save scrabbling for the thing you drop on the floor that then rolls under the cabinet! Interestingly Tomas over at Casual DIY was reviewing a Domino type router jig today - not cheap but looks well made . . worth a look. I shall wait for the plywood model.

I just so happen to be moving into a shop space. Small (ish) space as it is, I am undescribably thankful for for it. In preparation for this monumental moment I have done gobs of research on different shop build outs. Many, many youtube videos watched. Your channel being one of my favorites, for sure. And quite timely that you're upgrading and producing videos on the subject. I will be following suit in some of your design. I'm an old carpenter, mainly specializing in remodels/additions/etc... Hi Peter, I have been a subscriber of your channel for quite a while now and you have always produced great looking and well made products. However, your abilities to break the process down and demonstrate how easily we can also achieve similiar results really is fantastic. Every time I watch your channel I come away with an increase in knowledge and the confidence to just give it a go. If you were to produce a book for newbies on ´The ten minute approach to wood working or cabinet making´I have a funny feeling that it would sell in large quantities.
Belting vid as always, with for me the added bonus of helping me make my mind up, as to the drawer fronts on a small Belfast Sink Base Unit with 350mm wide drawers to one side. I've been fortunate to have rescued some ply from a neighbours project, saved the drawers from an old melamine set of drawers that just need resizing and new natural looking fronts. Trouble is I'll have to ban myself from UA-cam, to many ideas about.. 😉😄
