- I made the viral vintage blanket coat that @an_erin blessed us with last year! So in this video I am turning a vintage wool blanket with a beautiful floral pattern into a coat! :)

That fabric makes it look way better than the original. Good job!
Thank you so much! ❤️
Perfect! I want to use this pattern to make a dressing gown.
That'll work great 😂
Oooh wow, just yesterday I was thinking that I would like to make a jacket out of a blanket or a patchwork quilt. And here you are with this video 😂
It looks so amazing! Really really good work! 😍
I think I‘m going to buy me a vintage blanket 😎
That is crazy and amazing! 😃 love to hear it ❤️ etsy has some good vintage blanket options too :)

“I live in the UK and people here literally don’t care about what others wear…” True! But why isn’t everywhere like this?
I don't know! But definitely the reason I can only live in the UK!! 😂
So talented! 🤩
🥺❤️ thank you so much!
Omg, i love it!!❤
😍😍❤️
It’s really nice
Thank you so much 🩷🩷
Oh em geeeee I need this in my life... Would a fleece blanket work or anything other than wool?
I would recommend wool because it'll keep you warmer and its stiffer :) if you want to use fleece you could try it but I'd add interfacing to the whole thing :)
what do you think of the pattern? i'm hesitant to buy one of erin's patterns because they seem really overpriced as they come in only one size and have no additoinal instructions (compared to other patterns "on the market")
I understand your concerns.. the sizing of it is great to fit a wide range of sizes due to the oversize fit of it. I actually made mine a little smaller which was really easy and worked great. So for anyone who is not a sewing beginner it is easy enough to alter the pattern accordingly I think. In terms of the instructions I thought her tiktoks were easy to follow and again, if you have sewn jumpers or similar items before you won't need that much detail of instruction. I think it was worth buying the pattern :) but I belive you could also create this pattern for yourself too.
I just found an old blanket in my basement and old heirloom, I guess, and I wanted to get rid of it, but I'll do this instead!
Omg love to hear this!! 😍❤️
cool
Thanks :)
Could a separate sash be used to belt the coat rather than the sewn on belt?
The belt isn't sewn into the coat. There are belt openings but these are optional if you prefer to just tie the belt around yourself
may i ask, did you alter this pattern to fit you better? i also have the pattern for one of these and i am needing to alter the width but not the length & i am not sure how to do that without altering the lapel to look too small!
Yes, I made it a little less wide by folding the pattern along the center and took about 5 cm on each side in :) the lapel will have a little zig zag after but I just evened it out :)
This is so gorgeous! How did you manage to keep the length of the blanket stitches the same?
Thank you so much! :) I tried my best keeping it at 1 cm but didn't measure or anything so just eyeballed it
Did you print the pattern yourself? I’m having a hard time figuring out how to get it to print on multiple pages
I did yes :) there's converters online that will cut the A1 into multiple pages :)
@@recreatefulchannel which site? I have the same Prob
@@giulia6613 i can't remember which one i used but they all do the same thing :)
I bought this pattern and all I got was an A4 printout with the pieces drawn on it. How do I make the pattern from this or have I just thrown away that money and the pattern is only available in full in the US?
She does explain that for at home printing you need to split the pdf into several pages as her format is A0 to be printed on a plotter. So the pattern needs to be split into A4 (or US letter) pages and can then be printed at home
@@recreatefulchannel thank you, I read all through and didn’t see that. I have no idea how to split the A4, are there any measurements anywhere? I’ve bought lots of patterns from the US and the pattern prints out ready to cut and paste. This is a first for me. Im very disappointed!
@@recreatefulchannel I think I’ve found a place to create a paper pattern from AO, here in the UK. More information on the website would be good! Thank you so much, I’m keeping my fingers crossed it will be okay. 💐
@@yumyummoany I just watched this video and followed the steps: ua-cam.com/video/z0Nf7BJ3NiY/v-deo.html - I don't think it gets it a 100% accurate but since this is such an oversized style I didnt mind :)
I like yours better
🥺🩷 that's very sweet, thank you!
Chile this ain’t nothing new. Ppl been making coats out of blankets 😌
Best idea ever 💕
