- There has been a big uptick in the number of drugging of tourists in Medellin over the last year. I personally have known 2 guys who have gotten drugged and robbed of everything. Last night it was my time. Fortunately I have been on guard and I noticed all the signs and prevented myself from being robbed. Gentlemen please be careful. Listen to what happened to me and pick up a few pointers. Scopolamine or devil's breath is the drug of choice.

I want to visit Medellin so bad but i'm hearing these stories tooooooo often.
I was on good terms with the security guy on the first floor of my building. Whenever a girl was invited up to my apartment, I'd always take the elevator down to the first floor of the building with them when they left. The security knew if the girl tried to leave by herself, something was wrong, and he'd stop her and call my room number to check on me.
You are on point. I have the same arrangement. I tip him $50,000 pesos a month. I can see how he appreciates it. I have survived coming an living in Medellin for 8 years for a reason. This time I just wanted to see how she was going to get this done. I keep hearing all the guys getting hit recently and wanted the experience. Never again. too risky.
@@CarltonsTravelAdventures I was in Brazil a few years back and the women were using horse tranquilizers on brothas'..they'd come into these brothas' rooms, fix up a drink, then drop the drug. These guys would wake up damn near 2 days later, some foaming at the mouth, some needing hospitalization...the shit was crazy. You even had to be careful at the bar before you went home with a girl, because she might spike your drink before you left with her. I've seen a lot of shit go down bro, you had presence of mind, thank god for that.

Yes correct I have been visiting for almost 5 years and living for 3. I have not gotten drugged and robbed as yet for a reason. I usually do not even get to the point. I was just so damn curious about what she was going to do and how. I was totally on guard. This shit is getting so bad that I wanted to see how it played out. My boy was checking on me by whatsapp. Sent him her photo. Not stupid brother. Enough lesson. Will not try that again.

I was in medellin 3 weeks ago and an American was robbed and drugged. He died from the drugging. My Colombian friend told me it was probably a Venezuelan woman. Its a crazy world.
It happens in the USA as well. Read a story recently where these 2 women robbed a dude but they got caught.

Glad you ok brother..I just got back from the DR and am just catching up on UA-cam. Truthfully, I am now hesitant to come back out to Colombia after hearing these recent incidents. And now, I just saw a brother from New York was killed down there.
Its life. People always ask if they should come to Medellin. How dangerous is Medellin, etc. You can die anywhere in the world. A tourist got killed in Mexica a few months ago on the beach during a hit. How many people get killed in the USA every weekend. Just live your life. You cannot run away from death.

These cases could all be avoided by simply not having an open drink sitting around.
Drink a bottled beer or water with cap on, it goes with you to the bathroom if you have to step away
That kind of thing is going on all over South America, Asia ect..Got to be careful especially today during this COVID time..people are more desperate than ever, they'll do anything.

Damn, Lots of red flags! Listen to your gut feeling! It hit home! Especially when you think it won’t happened to to you. It happened to me years ago. At a bar. What helped me was I always told friends where I was. Had a beautiful girl buy me a beer. I was ok, free drink. I took a small sip and we were talking for a bit and it hits me. I’m sweating/ I’m feeling very very drowsy! I text my friend come get me now. I think I’ve been drugged! My 1st instinct was go to the bathroom. But no stay in public. I walk outside or by now I’m staggering. I see 2 female cops and tell them. Next thing I know I wake up In the hospital. Don’t remember much after that. My friend told me when she got there. I was passing out and wasn’t responding. Stay alert! I never thought it would happened to me! Always let someone know where your at!

It has been around forever and only costs $6 - $7 at your local pharmacy or Amazon in the USA. You could have bought 6 - 7 bottles of Brut cologne for what you paid for 1 bottle of Calvin Klein cologne. At my age I don't need to impress anybody. You take a shower and splash on the Brut and the ladies will love you.

No photo of the drink. I was so shocked to see the stuff in the bottom of the glass I just dumped it right away in front of her. I was thinking this is too close. Get her the hell out of my place. I kept the baggie the drugs came in

The drinks were on the night table next to the bed while she was giving me a massage. She would move my head away from the table to massage my neck. I got the trick. She asked me to have a drink with her a few times. It was dark in the room. First give away was when she insisted that I drink with her. Dumb move on her part. Saw it a mile away. She was not very good. Too many signs. I spotted them all.

I'm sorry for you I have known Medellin for 25 years I was 20 when I first visited Medellin and I visit Medellin almost every year Medellin is more dangerous today than before because today there is more tourists who say tourist says wealth and before there is a code of honor you do not touch the tourist that was established by the Cartel a piece of advice to you be careful of easy women and women who approach you if a woman wants to come to your house ask her for her ID if she tells you why she said to come home you must leave your ID with the security guard if she hesitates run away if she says OK be sure you will be with a good person another thing the safest district of Medellín is Envigado the thugs do not venture there because the people of the cartel since Escobar live there
I am usually very careful. I will go back to being very careful brother. Nothing wrong with breaking the rule once in a blue moon. This did teach me a lesson though. When I saw that stuff in the bottom of the glass it hit a nerve. It was a good experience. Will make me be a lot more careful going forward.

Unfortunately, it was just common sense , the constant videos on UA-cam have made Colombia particularly Medellin and Cartagena very popular tourist destinations. Medellin has become similar to Panama City. It’s flooded by expats and tourists. Luckily, you lived in Medellin for numerous years and you recognized the signs of potentially being drugged.

Dennis, correct I did everything wrong. However I have been living and visiting Colombia for over 8 years and never been robbed or drugged. Guess it must only be luck. I took a bunch of chances out of curiosity to see how she was going to pull it off. If I was not on my toes and saw all the signs I would have gotten drugged.
