    Am trying to use atx as bench power supply, mainly for voltage injection into short circuits. Will removing short circuit protection will help but also making the current adjustable will also help

      this pin 4 in TL494 or ka7500 is dead-time controller to adjust dead-time
      if this pin Is pulled up, it works aa shutdown in this ic

    Hello friend, how are you? Could you help me with the IC HS8108 of a power supply. I'm using it for a DVR with 7 cameras. But the power supply goes off. How can I disable the amperage limit so I can use it without problems. I thank you very much for your answer, you would get me out of trouble.

    Some ATX power supply with IC KA7500 with setting around 14.5V as the trigger point for overvoltage protection. With modification of the connection of pin 1 (i.e. non-inverting input of error amplifier 1) to 12V potentiometer, it can adjust voltage level of 12V, but it can't over 14.5V or shutdown. Apart form disabling the overvoltage protection, could it only modify the trigger voltage of overvoltage protection?

    Hi hasseb you are a very good profesor of electronics thanks for all.your videos and time . I want to ask some question i have a problem with a atx that only have a tl494 and it regulate the 3.3 v from a mosfet that take the 5 volt rail to get the3.3 output and when i take off the mosfet of the 3.3 volts all its good but when it get back the power suply get prtection this one dont have a 339 or any other compararor only the 494 sorry for the long qestion hahah if you can i can email the schematics and some.pics thanks so much

    Salam M Haseeb, very interesting to discover the PIN 4 of the ic. Can you please explain how the comparator works as sometimes i experienced a PSU shut down after some spark appear under load but far away from max watts. Thanks.

      i did the hack "jumper for pin 4 to GND", it works perfectly,
      BUT, i remembered that its canceled the short production circuit, i did remove the jumper and tried to short the 5V to GND by thiny wire 0.1mm the protection circuit worked again, as i expected.
      then i short the 12V to GND directly, the ac 220V mine power 4A fuse has plowed, i changed it with 250v/5A one its keeps plowing, just when plugging ac mine power to the power supply !?, "no ic no smoke"
      can you suggest what happened !?
      by the way, i am an electrician and i know that AC220V very DANGEROUS!

    al slam alykom haseeb , I want to ask what is the use of the 2 watt resistors connected at outputs , one connected between 12 and ground , one between 5 and ground and one between 3.3 and ground , should I remove them after hacking voltage output or leave them ?

      I disconnected pin 1 from circuit and connected it to ground to get the highest voltage (26.5V) and also changed all the output capacitors to 50V capacitors is there something to be done with the power resistors i mentioned before ?

      these are bleeder resistors and provide dummy load to get stable output

      otherwise these will heatup

    Liga ela a uma bateria vais ver que ela sobe muito bem a amparagem sem a bateria vais dar cabo sempre do transistor D13007L se calhar vais ter que por um em paralelo...a minha conectada a uma bateria de um berbequim 12V com 7volts carga a bateria fraca consegue manter 6 lampadas 12 volts 50w cada em paralelo cada lampada e quaze 5 AMPERS total 300w sem modificação alguma com uma fonte ATX UNICA 450W...agora imagina se a bateria do berbequim tava totalmente caregada quantas lampadas iria manter asezas de 12v 50w umas 8 ou mais 8 dava 400w quaze 40 AMPERES...como é obvio...com uma extensão de 1metro e 80cm 2.5mm fio de cobre estanhado cada da fonte para a bateria...
